  1. Love this comic book. Rumour on Twitter is that the pair are Pratt and Hemsworth. http://www.cbr.com/chrononauts-film-lands-two-fan-favorite-leads-teases-millar/ “Chrononauts” Film Lands Two “Fan-Favorite” Leads, Teases Millar 09.10.2015by Brett White in Movie News Comment While speaking with Comic Book Resources, writer Mark Millar offered an update on the progress being made on the film adaptation of “Chrononauts,” his Image Comics series with artist Sean Murphy. The property was optioned by Universal back in March of this year, but updates on the project have been fear and far between since. Millar offhandedly mentioned that one actor might be interested back in May, but that’s it. But now, as revealed in his CBR interview, Millar says “quite a few things are happening” with the “Chrononauts” film. “My friend over at Universal was really keen to get it up and running,” explained Millar. “He said that it would be great for two big actors, and we got the guys we wanted. He always wanted to work with these guys, and it’s something I never thought of working in comics, but if you have what they call a ‘double header’ — two big stars cast together — it’s such a cracking thing for your movie. It’s really quite rare to have a Butch and Sundance kind of thing where you get two huge guys in one film. So this is our big sci-fi franchise with that idea, and hopefully we’ll get a few movies out of it. It’d be cool. And so we got this writer who I’m friendly with who worked on the ‘Fast & The Furious’ movies called Chris Morgan. Chris worked on ‘Wanted’ with me, so I’ve known him since about 2006. It’s great to be working with him again, and I’m going to LA in a month to meet with him. We’re also going to have one of the actors meeting us in London soon. It’s great, because it’s two big actors who interestingly have each done a superhero movie before. They’re two fan-favorite guys, and one of them is the hottest guy in town at the moment.” These two actors will play scientists Dr. Corbin Quinn and Danny Reilly, the first time-travelers in history. While Millar didn’t do more than hint at the actors involved, he talked a little about when we will learn more about the film. “We have an organized plan,” said Millar. “I know what we’re planning with the schedule. We want to get both actors signed. One is signed already, and they’re working with the other one even though he’s formally agreed. The deal’s just being done. We want to do something exciting, and it’s fun to have two big names on a poster. It’s funny. We were chatting, and we found this post from 1977 for the first ‘Superman’ movie. They took this poster to Cannes, and it was the first time that they announced that Marlon Brando and Gene Hackman were going to be in ‘Superman.’ To have a poster at Cannes with their faces on it and the Superman logo was really exciting. So we’re going to do something similar with ‘Chrononauts.’ It’ll be both their names and faces on a poster for the announcement.”
  2. I thought Kate McKinnon's character was quite annoying to be honest. I watched the film with my girlfriend, her sister and her partner. The three girls loved it (one of them going so far as to call it "the best film ever") but I wasn't particularly fussed either way. Saw Get Out last night. Absolutely loved it. Fantastic film.
  3. Just dropped off 6 bags of books at the local charity shop.
  4. Can anyone tell me who Red Phoenix is? I'm only posting intermittently and have never noticed him before. Also, Sebastian Gorka did a sterling job last night defending his boss on Newsnight, yelling "Fake News!" and complaining about media bias every time he was asked a question.
  5. I'm off to the Crypt beer festival tomorrow night. First time to that one so I'm looking forward to it.
  6. Could be Apartment 16? (Although technically it isn't set in a hotel though).
  7. I loved that book. Horns wasn't as good but NOS4R2 is well worth a look. Still got The Fireman on my shelf, unread. Finished Dune for the first time this weekend and absolutely loved it. Am now halfway through rereading Eaters of the Dead and have finally started Springsteen's autobiography.
  8. Received these for my birthday.
  9. Finally set up the surround sound with the new projector/screen. Celebrated with the theatrical version of Empire Strikes Back. 11
  10. Used to love Double Dragon.
  11. Contributed two questions to Vicky McClure for her Guardian webchat. The bear/monkey with a knife debate wasn't mentioned but she does have beans on a fry up.
  12. Jurassic Park - The dinosaurs get out of their enclosures.
  13. Empire Strikes Back: Darth Vader is Luke's dad. Zulu: the Welsh win. Zulu Dawn: the Zulus win (Welsh win on aggregate with away goals counting double)
  14. Warning, spoilers will follow... Usual Suspects: Kevin Spacey is Keyser Soze. Don't Look Now: It's not their daughter, it's a psychotic knife wielding dwarf.
  15. Pair of blue Dragons for my birthday. Did the new trabs dance and everything.
  16. Bottom of the Ninth, bases loaded and he swaggered out to the plate in his trademark black shirt and hat.
  17. Watched Krampus last night. Echoes of Gremlins mixed with National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, daft and doesn't take itself at all seriously. Loved it.
  18. The Good Neighbour. Horrible little film.
