I have accepted that I will be spending the next month or so on the edge of my nerves just like in 2005. I hope that we don't face United in the final mainly for reasons that have already been said here. As well as the fact that I wouldn't be able to see it pass without trouble the cost of getting there would most likely price me out of being able to go. However, one thought has crossed my mind. Would there be any be better way for Robbie to finish his Liverpool career than to come off the bench and score the winner against them in Athens? I'm off to have a cold shower!

I did that Beeb predictor thing and finished up with Charlton, West Ham and Watford. I think West Ham's remaining games are just too hard for them to pick up many points in and I think Charlton have rode their luck in too many games lately and don't have a great run-in. I had Charlton on 35 points and Sheff United closest to them on 37. I also had Chelsea winning the league by a point. I'd have been gutted at the start of the season if somebody said I'd be in any way happy with that come April!

Testimonials these days are different though. The money nearly always is given to charity and it's just a way of showing appreciation for a player's service at a club rather than giving him a payday to survive off. There's not many people I would bother going to one for but when Carra's comes round I'll be there.

I agree with you completely with the comparison between DIC and Gillett and I was cautiously optimistic about DIC owning the club. I'm not against a takeover out of hand but I would be against one that would potentially put us in a worse situation that we are currently in. The only reasons I can see for David Moores selling to somebody who is not much if at all wealthier than him and who is no fan of our club would be if he's had enough or he wants the money. As someone who has always thought of him as somebody who loves the club just as much as I do I'd like to think that neither would be the case. Hopefully, that's not just me being naive.

I've thought about this all ends up and the way I feel about it right now I would rather we just fuck this whole takeover business off and carry on as we are until there is something in place that suits us. We had an opportunity to have a new stadium built and increased transfer spends and it didn't happen. I don't know the reasons behind where this all went belly up but in my view the only reason we should have a new owner is if it is in the benefit of Liverpool FC and I don't understand how increasing our debt levels to build a stadium and fund the team can be any better with an American guy with limited resources who doesn't know what we're about (and whose motives we know nothing about) than with the current owner. The only option that we seem to have is to trust those in charge but right now I have to be brutally honest and say that the more I read the less I do and if we're sold into the wrong hands for others to make money I personally will never forgive the people making the decisions.

The fact is that nobody knows anything that is going on behind the scenes. If anything changed that meant this deal wasn't right for us then we're right to not do business. These are nervous times but there's no point lynching people (and proper Liverpool people at that) until we hear the facts.

He is simply amazing. It is interesting how low his cross percentage is though compared to say, Steve Finnan who's made 60 less crosses overall but 1 more that's hit a Liverpool player (and yes I do have too much time on my hands at work). It either makes an interesting point in the whole right wing/central midfield nonsense or displays just how many of his corners hit the first man. Wouldn't swap him for any midfielder in the world though.

Despite what anybody says with the exception of the half time you'll never walk alone we were quite quiet in Istanbul til Vladi's goal. Having said that though what your saying is right the fans can inspire the players but unfortunately most of the fans need the players to inspire them before they'll make a noise. The nasty atmosphere I felt at Istanbul just before half time and at many games towards the end of the Houllier days confirms this. We have many great fans but generally the poorer the team plays the worse the atmosphere. If we did rally though then the twelfth man can still help us out of the slump!

Does anyone know when George Davies came on board? I used to work for Marks & Spencer over in Dublin and met him a few times. The guy knows his stuff and if anybody can sort the merchandising out then he can. He's a good guy as well actually. The first time I spoke to him he picked out my Scouse accent straight away and chatted to me about the footy for a bit. All the women loved him as well though that's probably more to do with his bank balance than anything else.

Got loads of work to do but one thing on my mind. Gonna be losing my voice in 2 and a half hours time for the cause. COME ON RED MEN!!!!!!!!!!
