My grandad used to have his own childrens shoes made in Portugal and shipped over to Liverpool for his shoe business. He had a shop and also used to distribute to other companies. His main contact in the factory in Portugal was a guy called Jose who became a close family friend. So he was named after a family friend from Portugal. He is my cousin by the way, and Carragher is friends with the family therefore, it is not unusual they went out together! Its pronounced in the same way as Jose Mourinho, not in the Spanish way which sounds more like Hoseay!

Has it not crossed your mind that he may have been going to watch Jose Baxter? The son and nephew of two of his close friends - supporting another local Bootle lad who has great potential??? Probably Not. Also, I quite agree with the context in which he has made the comments about foreigners undercutting locals in UK industry. He is obviously concerned that his brothers are being priced out of work by mostly foriegn workers. Although our top league is littered with foriegn players, the english still get EXCELLENT paid 'work' in the lower divisions. Take an average of our english players loaned to championship clubs (£5000 per week). In football, although the foreign players dominate the top leagues, there is still something available 'lower down' which we would all bite their hands off for. There is no such window of opportunity in most industry. I am struggling to understand how anyone can draw a comparison to JCs comments about his working class brothers and professional footballers?? I admit the Ferguson comments have be baffled, he could have said a modern day shankley or paisley; but thats what we would expect!! If you take your red tinted spectacles off, as a Liverpool fan if there was one manager you wanted to be better than it would be the rat bag jock! I am expecting comments now about ages ago when he threw the £1 in the crowd and how he should never play for the club again and is actually a disgrace!!! Also, I can borrow a car, but cant get that day insurance because thats over 21's. The plan is to drive to Eindhoven in December, but my car is not practable, and I am not planning to get a new one! I just got back from Porto today. Some fella had EIGHTEEN spare tickets, he couldnt get rid of them - he was giving them to Porto waters for tips!!! I went down with Five season tickets last week, all had every home but only the final and never got one legitimately!!Had to get them from a friend in the end!
