we scored more goals than chelsea in the league last year. they managed to challenge for the title right up until the last day of the season.

think the barry signing could be a very astute one. also think the barry v alonso comparisons are erroneous. i don't think it's a like for like swap at all. nor is it meant to be. if anything mascherano's the one who's taken alonso's place.

don't think keane's in beardsley's class either, good signing though he is. torres is better than aldo.

so in short he has loads of ability, but has failed time and again on the big stage. unlike kuyt, who may not be the most technically gifted footballer but has stepped up on numerous occasions in the biggest games.

by what measure is quaresma better than kuyt? kuyt's given key performances more often on a much bigger stage than quaresma.

Rafa´s make or break season - Title Challange........

i'd suggest rafa benitez has delivered in his job to a level you could only dream of. if posting on an internet forum was football management, you'd be barry fry. -

there isn't a manager i rather have in this point in time. for me the minimum is a top 4 finish and maintain prowess in europe. the hairdressing analogy is a shit one. hair grows back quickly, easy enough to flit between barbers. if your new hairdresser was capable of fucking your haircut up to the extent that he burnt all your hair off leaving you bald for the next seven years you'd probably think twice about it. even though you weren't getting exactly what you wanted with your existing barber. -
i dream of a team of kevin muscats.

i think we needed to add another big, quick striker to our centre forward options. i reckon he'll cause defenders loads of problems, but will be shit in front of goal.

or 57,500,000 sherbert dips.

i think it's probably a subtle combination of a lack of imagination and homo-eroticism.

disgrace to that avatar. should be robbie savage or some such. maybe quaresma, all style over substance, but then that would wrongly suggest he had style.
-
it may not be an ideal situation if it comes to pass, but then again chelsea had makelele, essien, lampard, ballack, mikel, sidwell to play central midfield last season.united had scholes, carrick, hargreaves, anderson, fletcher.

and, remember, when it comes to judging a player. don't jump to conclusions. wait to hear what the sky pundits have to say, check on you tube, or consult the wise men on red cafe. sickens me these cunts who just like a player because benitez has signed him. don't they have minds of their own?
-
sure. you'll remember the shirt burning etc. but at the time a lot of reds fans were unhappy that parry et al didn't do more to try to convince gerrard to stay. the club and management seemed to be willing to move on pretty quickly, even if the fans didn't. ultimately it's a balance between the two. you do your best to keep the player, if you can't you try to get the best deal done without cutting your nose to spite your face. the valuations appear pretty close seems pointless quibbling over the odd million just because you're upset with the way it got done. doubt there's a club in the league that's unimpeachable when it comes to transfer dealings.
