  1. Have anyone actually found the Agger story in the Echo or on their site? I find the story a bit weird since I'm unable to find it on their site - how come 2 Danish media have it on their site before the paper that actually broke the story does? Didn't want to post things that wasn't true - the verdict is still out on this one I suppose?
  2. Google translate: Media: Bid 80 million for Agger - TV 2 Sport Daniel Agger is a popular player across Europe, and according to the local newspaper from Liverpool, the Bundesliga club offered 80 million for the Dane. "One player who certainly leave the club, Daniel Agger after Bayer Leverkusen reportedly has offered as many as 11 million euros (82 million Danish) for the Danish defender who also Hamburger SV and Malaga have expressed interest in," writes Liverpool Echo according sporten.dk. Daniel Agger has played in Liverpool since 2006 but recently has been much influenced by injuries. The player himself has previously stated that he wants to be in Liverpool, and that he still has plenty to offer the club.
  3. Agger set to leave according to Liverpool Echo. I can't find the story on their site, but here is the story from the Danish media who says Echo is reporting it. The Danish article says Agger is certain to leave the club after Leverkusen bid 11 mill. euro. Malaga is also interested.
  4. Mata got injured in training with Spain U21. Had to leave with a bandage around his ancle. Kenny must have told him that we only want him if we skips the U21 Euro;)
  5. Not that I didn't know their age, but I get a little sad when seeing how old Gerrard and Carragher have become without winning the league:( Hopefully they get at least one!
  6. £6 mill. is a joke. We should keep him and stop looking at players like Barton. On the other hand if we could get Henderson for the same as we get for Aquilani then fine by me, but its seems way of. I think Aquilani could be very usefull under Kenny if only the injuries wasn't a factor.
  7. I think Downing is trying to keep the price for him down by saying this? It should play into our hands and this could even be something 'someone' whispered to him? I think this is an indication that he is about to leave if the fee is reasonable. Hopefully we get him and Mata - who would have thought so 12 months ago?
  8. Is the glass half full or half empty? Well, compared to last season and the feeling back then I'd say the glass is half full. There's a lot to be done, infact an awful lot, but I'm far more confident we're on the right track than I was at the same time last year. There were always going to be setbacks with the current squad. We've done very well all things considered since Kenny took over. Perhaps we just run out of steam in the last two games. I'm also glad we escaped Europe League as we'll no doubt have a better chance for a strong top 4 challange next season without that distraction. We're on the up, but it's a key summer where we have to get things right transfer wise. Fortunately we seem to be looking on the right kind of players. Certainly players for the areas of the squad that is lacking and to be fair it's quite easy to improve us in those positions so Im expecting a much better team next season.
  9. Downing would walk through fire to play for us - I don't think that's the case with Young as he would have more options. I'm warming to the idea of Downing, but surely we need at least 2 more attacking players. If Kenny is hooked on Downing then why not, really. He would know what we need.
  10. If it's a question of Young OR Downing then I think it should be taking into account who else we would be able to bring in as a wide player. If rumours are true we're looking to bring in two wide men. Marin and Mata seems to go more through the middle as I see it. One of them would be a good alternative to young and Downing. It seems unlikely that we'll buy both Young and Downing, but it can't be ruled out I suppose? Who would Kenny want the most will probably decide it if it's a straight choice between the two?
  11. But I'll doubt he'll be fighting with Pacheco so the little fella ends up in tears?
  12. I think Tony B. wrote that we would give him a better deal and that he would prefer us to United because of less competition for a starting place (might not be sure he would play ahead of Valencia and Nani?). Anyway, thanks for sharing. Hopefully Downing will raise his level at a better club. I could easily happend.
  13. So everything Tony Barrett wrote the other day was just bollocks?
  14. Hulk just signed a new contract - runs to 2016.
  15. Would it be easier/cheaper for us getting Jones if Blackburn went down?
  16. £15m for Cahill is sound. I think he'll be a massive improvement and already got experience to go straight into our 11. Jones looks promising, but is he any better than the current form of Skrtel? I'd happily go for both Jones and Cahill, but if there isn't a very significant difference in their asking fee it's got to be Cahill as he will be very dominant in the air and we could use a bit more of that. Jones looks a bit short for a centerback and certainly interesting. I'm just not sure him Carragher would be strong enough in the air as center pair?
  17. I'm not the biggest fan of Downing and certainly not if it's a question of him OR say Young or Mata. I'd still think he could be a very good player for us and will take him every day of the week as long as there's money enough to buy other top targets. We have to improve the squad a lot and it's no way a given that a player like Downing will be in our strongest 11 after the summer. At the moment he would and therefore it's a step in the right direction. We also need a much better bench. He'd be a massive improvement compared to the likes of Jovanovic, Poulsen, Cole and even Maxi.
  18. Affraid so:yes: The FA are a clueless bunch!
  19. When I saw a picture of Lovren on wiki nad his stats I instantly thought of Markus Babbel! He can play left back too, right? Only on that slim comparison I'd say go for him, go
  20. It's pathetic. Why wait so long to charge him? The comments were made 2 days before the Chelsea game. By waiting until after the game to charge him Ferguson little mind game worked. He cares fuck all if he gets ban after they've beaten Chelsea and won the title. If he clearly has broken the rules it shouldn't take a week to take actions. Had the FA acted right away it would send a clear message and Fergusons comments would have reflected poorly on him BEFORE the game which meant it could have become a problem for them. It's useless this way.
  21. World nb. 1 tennis darling Caroline "miss sunshine" Wozniacki doing a world of good all for free.
  22. There's the right way and the wrong way to do a PR stunt. Would they have done this if it didn't rain? I think they saw it as a chance to do a little good that really didn't take an awful lot. It certainly fits well with the "one big family" image and that everyone is pulling in the same direction. I like it. If they weren't popular owners they couldn't have done it. Would you have taking coffee from Hicks? Nah.
