  1. Think this story could be an urban myth, like the Marc Almond pints story Apparently Arsenal players wore "50, just done it" T shirts at Old Trafford last year
  2. Figo has apperently been offered bundles of cash to play in the middle east, so persumably he will go there if money is the main motivating factor. I hope he comes to us..
  3. Just been watching Sky Sports news in between bouts of falling asleep on the sofa, and managed to catch tomorrows paper roun-up. Said something about us offering Figo a 2 year deal. Also another paper says that Owen would like to join Chelsea, and that Real are keen on the Chelsea rent boy. Oh, and Wenger is about to nick Reina off us. Don't you just love the summer?
  4. Also it says he's been co-operating - so it's not as bad as the Lee Hughes case.
  5. Quality over quantity is the key, IMO.
  6. Seems to have gone quiet on this - is anything happening - or are we just losing a million a month still on it?
  7. From the sunday mirror CROUCH GETS HIS SPURS Jun 12 2005 GIANT HITMAN SET TO REJECT ANFIELD OFFER By Paul Smith PETER CROUCH will reject a move to European champions Liverpool in favour of Premiership rivals Tottenham. Liverpool are expected to close in on Southampton's valuation of Crouch when they lodge a second bid of £6million for the towering marksman. The relegated Saints rejected their initial opening offer of £5m four days ago. But Crouch, who began his career at White Hart Lane, has been made aware of interest by his former club who have asked to be kept informed about his situation at St Mary's. The Saints are resigned to losing Crouch after he held talks with manager Harry Redknapp on Friday and made it clear he wanted to move. Crouch's advisers have also informed chairman Rupert Lowe that their client's international ambitions would be damaged by playing outside the top flight and his current wages of about £3,000 a week are totally unacceptable when Liverpool are prepared to offer him around £25,000 a week. In the event that Crouch does leave, Redknapp also favours a move being brokered with Tottenham which will enable him to strengthen his squad with two players on loan.
  8. Do you think all Evertonians have a redshite check list when they're writing their observational little columns (bless). Must make reference to a) They have more money than us b) Heysel c) Out of towners d) Heysel e) Heysel f) Out of towners
  9. Fair point, which is why if we don't get the CL, the UEFA cup would be a disaster - just as many games, fuck all money, thurdsday games and channel 5. I'd be happy to give Europe a miss completly.
  10. twice in 6 months. Can't we do our Asian marketing in december, rather than dragging the players their in July as well? After watching ' Lost in Translation ' it looks like the sort of place where 1 trip would be enough.
  11. I thought all Blues lived within walking distance of the pit?
  12. Rafa maybe sees him as another John Carew? The man has just delivered number 5 - he could sign Tony Cascarino and I'd still support him.
  13. Speaking to Sky Sports, Cahill said, "I am absolutely delighted for Liverpool, it is a remarkable achievement and they deserve it. But, when you start asking for rules to be changed, I am not sure. There must not be rules for one and rules for another, but I will leave that to the top men to decide. But just as long as it does not affect us, then I am happy for Liverpool to be in the Champions League. For two massive clubs in such a small city to have achieved what they have is tremendous. It is fantastic for everyone. But we are just worried about Everton after what we have done this year, our results speak for themselves. If Liverpool get a place in the Champions League, then fair play to them. But if it affects us then I will not be happy as an Everton player." Are Everton the bitterest football club in world football?
  14. Latest from Uefa Johansson backs Liverpool in UEFA vote on cup defence LONDON, June 7 (Reuters) - UEFA president Lennart Johansson wants Liverpool to defend their Champions League trophy as European soccer's ruling body prepares to vote on the issue. Johansson told BBC radio on Tuesday that UEFA's executive committee will arrange a telephone conference in the next few days, with members voting on whether Liverpool will be allowed in next season's competition after their win over AC Milan. Under current rules, Liverpool's fifth-placed finish in the Premier League means they have qualified only for the much less prestigious UEFA Cup. Asked if he was in favour of Liverpool being allowed in the Champions League, Johansson said: "Yes, I am...but I want people to know that they are free to have their own opinion when they are voting. "I think that a champion should, as in all other sport, have the possibility to defend its title." Johansson said he favoured allowing the Merseysiders into the qualifying rounds. The 14-member committee, of which he is a member, would be given background on all the options available. Executive committee members will be contacted on Tuesday to set a time and date for the teleconference. "One decision is about what will happen in the future," Johansson said. "The main decision will be about Liverpool. "I hope and I trust that it will be a decision which will be accepted by all parties because we have the ambition, on the one hand, to give Liverpool the opportunity to defend their title and, on the other hand, to see that no-one suffers from such a decision." Though there are three qualifying rounds to the money-spinning Champions League, English clubs have so far only joined in the final round. Johansson said Liverpool's title defence should start "from the very beginning, in my opinion". "They have to go through all the competition." Liverpool were trailing Milan 3-0 at halftime in last month's final in Istanbul before scoring three times in six minutes and securing the club's fifth European Cup in a penalty shoot-out.
  15. "perter crouch? bolo zenden?" I love that bit - the team that signs Kevin Kilbane and Fat boy Beatie are dissing us. NEC - No European Cups
  16. That's the same one I'm on (the OS system, not the 3 chord rock) - the bit torrent software is fine on my G4 - maybe you've some dodgy client software?
  17. Which OS are you on? TBH I think the albums good - but then, I liked the second Stone Roses album.
  18. I just assumed he was injured. Funny how Didi coming off turned that game, and him coming on turned the final. Must be great being him.
  19. Also, I think we had a better record last season without him? Still, would be gutted if he left.
  20. Sorry - new to this place. What is the insult of choice?
  21. Another 4 past him next season then..
  22. We've been fucked because of Barwick's red allegance - he's been so despaerate to appear impartial, he's forgotton to do what's right. Which is to make the bitters play in the 'B' cup.
  23. Thought they'd lost it - but this one's the best since Definatly Maybe. I've got it on a permanent loop with the Coral
  24. I think Rafa would rather have the money than another season of speculation. What did Gerrard expect to be asked after the final, when he has ducked the question all season. 'Shit, or get off the pot' is the phrase that comes to mind.
