Premier League Round Up (Jun 19-22 2020)

Now I know no-marks like David Gilmour isn't even fit to string the great Bon Jovi's guitar. How could I be so wrong? As the Americans now praise their president for protecting them from Covid-19, I now bow my head in admiration of your musical superiority. I’m no longer a little worried about your sanity, I’m deeply concerned ;-) . -
Bill Shankly, nearly 50 years ago: “My idea was to build Liverpool into a bastion of invincibility. Had Napoleon had that idea he would have conquered the bloody world. I wanted Liverpool to be untouchable. My idea was to build Liverpool up and up until eventually everyone would have to submit and give in.” He was right. They really have no other option than to submit. Wipe your tears babies!

This was more than good, it was brilliant. Some might even call it Bon Jovi good.

Top stuff as always Dave, but this sentence makes me think you’re losing it. I’m now a bit worried about your mental health. Bon f*** Jovi? Their rank as a band must be somewhere around where Kidderminster is in footy. -

Mocking people for living in poverty is really beyond belief. I wouldn’t even call it insulting, just plain stupid. If insulting, they’re insulting themselves, screaming to all the world, “I’m an idiot, I don’t have any social conscience, my mind can’t comprehend anything more complex than my next pint.

They won't realise this of course, but the one person who'd be most upset by those songs is probably gooing to be Marcus Rashford. If he's too ashamed of playing for his current team he could always come to us.

Next time he enters Anfield he should be given a big round of applause. The stupid mancs preparing to sing their favorite "merederer" song wouldn’t know what to do. They'd be demolished by share and simple humanity.

Last summer when we didn’t sign anyone but a couple of kids, I remember people shouting: ”We’ve just won the CL. Not using our position to strengthen our squad is madness. F*** off FSG!” I guess all your nightmares came through; 29 games, 27-1-1 so far. Is it really the end of the world, or the end of any logical ambition to go yet another summer without a big name signed? Or maybe we should just copy what they do a couple of miles east down M62: Angel di Maria, Alexis Sanchez, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Radamel Facao, Sebastian Veron to name a few. Relax fellas, we’ll do OK next season. It’s been a long time since we’ve had youngster of the quality we now have knocking on the door. I look forward to see them force their way into the team. I anticipate a wet dream, not a nightmare.

Why bother with all these difficulties. Keep It Stupid Simple, don'y buy any of them... ... buy MBappe instead

10. Shouts “come and get me!” louder than a hooker in need of a fix

That's the way things go isn't it: 1. Best player for Liverpool FC - could be all time legend 2. Snubs LFC to join glorified Spanish team 3. Misses out on CL winner medal 4. Fails at Spanish club 5. Desperately wants to come back, but LFC says no f*** way 6. Signs for Newcastle 7. Ends career at Old Trafford

Or, Deeney could play and just say away from his family a month or two and return to them only when he's certain he's not infected. When I was a child I had a friend who’s dad was a sailor on a ship. He was away for maybe 3 or 4 months at sea without seeing his family. It’s the situation for thousands of fathers around the world. My mate loved his dad as much as anyone. Footballers can’t do that?

Over the course of the game. Every third corner counted as a goal. One time we allowed play to go on behind the imaginary touchline. One guy passed the ball just over the goal line but from the wrong end. A teammate pushed it back over the line from the right side and claimed a goal. Surely that was not a legitimate pass. One guy accused another of cheating, and it all escalated into a group fight. Result: Next time no play was allowed behind the touch line and 3 corners = 1 goal. Worked perfectly.

It's serious and difficult times now. All of a sudden people pops out of the closet admitting they love beans. I must say I'm disapointed as we should be talking about the real problem: Does blackpudding deserve a rightful place on a full english?

80 years ago our grandfathers were given a helmit and a gun and asked to go to war to protect the country. They obliged. Now, their grandsons are asked to relax 3 weeks on the couch. Too big an ask.

The decision will be what it'll be. Will depend on the development of the Covid-19 I suppose. The situation is beyond what we'd all expect one month ago. Who knows what the world looks like one month from now. In the aftermath of this FA should make rules on what do to if this situation should occur again. You could i.e. say abandon season if less than 50% of matches have been played and conclude the season as it stands if more than 50% have been played, applying ppg for the matches that won’t be played. Or any other solution. The main point is to have a rule to provide predictability. Back in the 60'smatches were decided by a coin toss. We could decide the reamning matches by some kind of randiom draw.

Good post Simply stating the facts. Adrian had secure options both sides. Incredibly stupid, incredibly naive, incredibly infuriating
