  1. I am going to do it all online when I get a chance. Granted, it will take me 20 mins or so to put in 25 bets one by one.
  2. Bob is having trouble viewing the file as he only has MS Works rather than Excel. So thought I would post it up anyway. This is the original bet Bob referred to, not the correct scores one. All you need to do is fill in the information in the cells outlined in bold Red - the rest of it will calculate for you. You can download it from http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VXLYZW5Y When you go to this site, it will ask you to type in the 3 letter code that it randomly generates in the top right hand corner. You may then have to wait 30 seconds or so until it lets you download. Let me know if there any issues with the spreadsheet Baz
  3. Cheers mate - I have sent the spreadsheet to Bob to review but I think it works out OK. Based on bet365 prices this afternoon, I work out you would make £1286 off a 20 quid stake if all win.
  4. Si - what was your stake if you dont mind me asking? I will put this example into the spreadsheet I am finishing off.
  5. The spreadsheet of Bobs original bet is coming along nicely - it should make it easier to understand for everyone. Now if this bloody soft skills training shite that I have to go on for a few hours was not in the way, I could get it finished! Anyone know of a website where I can post the Excel file to so people can download it?
  6. Yep - cheers Bob - I will be having a pop at this at the weekend as well. As will about half a dozen mates after telling them about this bet!
  7. When I get a chance (probably at the weekend), I will put this into a spreadsheet to work out potential winnings (for both fractions and decimal odds) and I will post it up here. Bob - I understand the bet and obviously it is easier to go down the bookies to put this on. If you doing it online, would you literally have to create 25 separate coupons - that could take ages! Or is there an easier way of doing this?
  8. Been getting into the Asian Handicaps myself recently. Took me a while to figure it out but basically it is less risky than betting on Win - Draw - Lose. Now beginning to get the hang of it.
  9. Try Wolves (who were 1st) getting beat at home on a Monday night live game by Brighton (who were bottom at the time) - all the rest had come in at the weekend and I lwould have won nearly 3k as a result.
  10. Living in London and cycling to work every day, he gets my vote purely for his pro-cycling views. Dont get me wrong - there is a lot of bad to him as well but both are as bad as each other. At least he says what he thinks and does not rely on soundbites.
  11. Have started to track all of my bets via a spreadsheet for the 1st time to see whether I am any good at this game or not. I tend to bet a fair amount on short odds but some of my mates prefer small stakes, large accumulators. We have decided to see how we get on throughout the season. I have come up with a spreadsheet to work out both profit / loss as well as Return on investment (%). The latter is good as it means we can compare our strategies. Currently have a 15% positive return. BobHorse - you seem to know about these things. What does a decent gambler look at in terms of return - 20%? More?
  12. Yep - bet365 normally the best odds out there. I was saying in a few other threads - the bookies have well cottoned on to Liverpool to win to nil. Early half of last season you used to be able to get above Evens despite constantly winning off it. No chance now.
  13. I have Owen and van Persie to score anytime.
  14. Happy days - Liverpool to win to nil is a great bet. Need to put a bit of cash on to make it worthwhile as it is normally odds on.
  15. That is a good price. I take it you use somewhere like http://www.oddschecker.com to find the best price?
  16. I have us to win to nil. Could only get 8/11 though - the bookies have cottoned on with shite prices for this bet. Took them a while last yr to realise. Expecting worse price against Derby at the weekend.
  17. Jesus Dave - I used to work there doing their IT. First real job I ever had after uni. I will never forget 1 woman whose job was to place stickers on packets of dog biscuits as they rolled along the production line. Felt so sorry for her.
  18. Went to Toulouse for the England game (don't ask) in the France World Cup. Decent stadium and some good night life there.
  19. I got exactly the same. Ignored the letters for a while but in the end, got an extension lead, phoned them up to tell them I had connected. They left me alone then. Have not plugged Sky into the telephone since.
  20. And you were also playing for Merseyside as opposed to Liverpool!
  21. Anderson also scored a couple on his debut http://www.scfc.co.uk/pre07osta.html
  22. This from a huge West Ham mate of mine from one of their fanzines. Obviously only time will tell but I think people are writing him off a bit early More shocking perhaps is the seemingly certain departure of Benayoun. I was certainly hoping that reports of interest from Liverpool would die down, that once he returned for pre-season the club would sit him down and patch up the problem. But reports indicate that he has all but refused to even consider staying at West Ham, and so the only option has been to haggle with Liverpool over a price. I must say I don't understand how figures of £4-6 million could be bandied about for one of the best creative midfielders in the Premier League at the prime of his career - you could spend £20 million and not find a played of Benayoun's class. And clearly Benayoun has been left in no doubt of Liverpool's determination to have him - where are the Premier League when a player is so clearly and obviously tapped up? How you replace Benayoun I just don't know - I feel this leaves us with a huge creative hole in the midfield. Over the last two seasons when Benayoun hasn't played I feel we have looked very predictable - there's nobody else in the squad that seemed able to find space in attacking areas, and upset the opposition with their movement and skill. While we were always struggling to find the right position for Tevez, who looked consistently awful on the wing, Benayoun managed to play as a winger but have a huge influence on the game. You don't replace that - you simply don't.
  23. I read a couple of years ago (I think it was the launch issue of Golf Punk magazine) where the 1st journalist ever to do a proper interview with him re-printed the article. He was at university and people were beginning to realise how big he might be. The journalist phoned him up, met for a burger, went down the range and basically had a bit of a laugh. You see him now and he is so cautious in what he says as hundreds of journalists drip off every word he says. Sign of the times I am afraid. It would be brilliant to hear Carragher type honesty from him but he would not last a week.
