  1. This is annoying. I want it all over so I can either go fucking mental or begin the very long mourning process. City will either win by 4+ or West Ham will win. I don't think it will be a draw and I think if City score early they will run riot. Hopefully our lads do their job just in case.
  2. I actually hate having to rely on big Andy, stewey, joey cole and fat sam to give me hope that I can have one of the greatest days of my life. I feel like I've been told that I've a 2-3% chance survival rate from a disease and I just want to have the operation straight away rather than wait another day.
  3. The anti-Liverpudlian sentiment is nothing new. Where you have thieving drunken irresponsible Scousers now, you might as well be talking about Victorian attitudes to the Irish in the past. We are an immigrant city and will never be loved by Middle England.
  4. Terry and Cole would be terrific for our defence, provided it isn't a cockney knees up in liverpool for the year. Even if they were half arsed, they'd still be a massive improvement mind you.
  5. If west ham lose or draw, do you have a plan B? The greats would have the divorce papers waiting to be handed to her should that scenario arise.
  6. I agree with alot of your sentiment. You are right that we need to be targetting players that are better than what we already have in our starting line up and that this summer represents a big chance to bring in top quality players. However, I do feel that Lallana is a very good player. For me, he's a far better player than Allen and if by signing him, we give further depth to midfield than I'll be very happy. Next season, we will really need to give Stevie alot less games to keep him effective. If we bring in Konoplyanka and a very good 3rd choice striker as well, then we have further options in midfield and attack. Our defence is the main priority for me and I'd like us to bring in two full backs and see how Ilori gets on when he comes back. Brendan needs to decide whether Skrtel and Sakho will ever work together and whether Ilori can play with either of them. Mignolet is a good keeper, but you could have Buffon in goal and he'd struggle to marshall our defence.
  7. I like Lallana alot from what I've seen, but I'm nervous as hell about another Charlie Adam showing up here. You need to be a special player to play for Liverpool. You aren't just judged against the other players in the league, but you're judged against the greats of the past that have played for us. It sounds like he has a good temperament, so I'm hopeful he will be able to handle the expectations of playing with us. I'd like us to be able to give Stevie much less game time next season and hopefully with Lallana coming in, we'll be able to do just that. I don't know enough about foreign leagues but I'd love; Shaw and Coleman for the full back positions, Lallana or another player of top ability for midfield, Konoplyanka and Remy for 3rd striker (I'm sure there's many better or cheaper on the continent, but I don't know the other leagues that well). A further two of three signings would be great, but i'd rather guys that can walk into our first team rather than squad signings.
  8. It's basically a really top team with some of the very best players in the world against England B standard (at best) players. On paper, it's about 3/4-0 to City but football doesn't always follow reason, which is why I love the game. West Ham are managed by a very poor man's Jose Mourinho. West Ham fans might hate him, as do we, but credit to Fat Sam, he got them results and I don't think that many teams he puts out will take a hiding. He'll keep it very very tight and try and nick a goal somewhere and at some point in the game. The problem will be if City score early - if they do then momentum will carry them to a big victory. If they don't and we are giving the barcodes a tonking, then I think nerves will kick in. It's highly unlikely but with the pressure they will be under, they could get caught out somewhere and West Ham nab a goal. City will have played 3 big games in 8 days. As good as their players are, tiredness will affect them towards the end of the game and they could get caught out if it's close. It's like sticking a bet on the 40-1 shot in the Grand National but I'm not giving up hope yet.
  9. I want our players back safe and sound first and foremost. I don't actually care if they don't get called up for it, although a big part of me would love Stevie or Luis to go all the way. I wouldn't mind Holland going far so van gaal can be kept away from Manchester and they can have another shit pre season.
  10. We fucked up on Monday because we were chasing goals and the lads were truly shattered as a result. It's easy to blame them because when it was 3-0, my attitude was let's go for more goals rather than defend what we have. Imagine if we had lost the league on goal difference. For me, it would have been heartbreaking. It was not a run of the mill league game. Anyhow, while I put our chances of winning the league at no more than 2%, isn't it marvellous that we have that 2% shot at the title.
  11. It's terrible the way it's gone between the two clubs. One thing that was always great about the city was that aside from having two of the biggest and best clubs in the country, was that there was such good banter between the fans. I think their decline in some ways was worse than ours and has affected how they view themselves, which meant the younger generation of blues get involved in the small-time antics of wanting their own club to lose, before our mob win. I genuinely have always wanted Everton to do well. I've even been to a few of their cup finals down the years, just like alof of my bluenose mates came to our finals for the banter. Fingers crossed the blues do us a good favour today.
  12. If we win the league, i would agree that consolidation of our top 4 place and a decent run in the Champions League would be my aim. If we don't win the league, I would love us to go all out and try and win it, even at the expense of the Champions League - I know that would never happen but I'm chomping at the bit to see us as domestic champions far more than champions of Europe. I think keeping Luis is the most important thing this summer. We can get better and the thing that is wonderful is that we go into next season with real hope for the future. Brendan has got a few signings wrong, but Sturridge and Coutinho have been great successes and while I'm not entirely convinced, I would have good hopes that Sakho and Mignolet can get better and be very good for us. Both have been about 7/10 signings for me. His work with Sterling and Flanno has been brilliant and Sterling has the ability to be a worldie. While I can't wait for the world cup and love our players to do well, the selfish part of me wants Uruguay knocked out early on, with Woy not bothering to take Sterling and Hendo and Danny Boy getting a knock before the world cup that keeps him out for a few weeks, but nice and fresh for our pre-season. A good fresh pre-season and we can march on into next season.
  13. With Van Gaal, it will either be brilliance or disaster. There won't be any in-between and United are the kind of club that gives too much power to Charlton,Fergie and the fucking class of 92. Van Gaal will be straight to war with all of them.
  14. It's alot more than I would have thought to be fair. For every blue that wants to see the city get back winning and sees that if anything we could inspire their excellent young team and manager, there is a blue who is prepared to see their own team shit if it brings us down. They've the mindset of a fucking middle eastern suicide bomber.
  15. On grandoltteam's forum, their poll is that 76% want Everton to win on Saturday. As per usual with any team, you wouldn't think it from reading the comments.
  16. We will beat Palace 6-1 and Newcastle 8-0. You heard it hear first. Get down to the bookies boys and then book that all inclusive in Barbados.
  17. I think we will do it. In fact I'm convinced we will. Didn't City beat Leeds 4-0 the year they won it which basically meant that they put it on a plate for the Mancs to win, only for them to then fuck up (was it 92?) and Leeds to win. There have been many occasions when so called rival teams did a favour and I'm hopeful the blues will do us one.
  18. Hear what Pablo said about Everton. He said that Goodison is a shithole with no atmosphere and their fans don't seem to give a shit about their team and it's like a library. He said Anfield has way more passionate fans and it's clear what is the definitive "scouse" team in Liverpool. He thinks Everton's team is shit too. Don't forget to tell every blue that you know.
  19. A few United fans I know from the pub can't help smirking at me and telling me that Pulis is a great mate of Fergie and that they'll really go for it against us. They kept saying that Everton will throw the game against City and the usual "told you so" routine and how we won't have a better chance of winning the league for donkey's years. I just waited a few minutes and asked them if they were planning on going away for a few city breaks next year now that they aren't in Europe. Casual as fuck told them I'm looking forward to hitting Madrid or Barcelona and told them if they're looking at renting cottages in Cornwall to let me know as I can get them a boss deal. Shut the knobheads up.
  20. Remember Duff and Robben under Ranieri and then watch them under Maureen. Different players. Give him a year and he'll fuck up Oscar, Schurrle, Hazard and Willian. Credit where credit is due, he's a winner and his CV is marvellous, but he won't be remembered as a true great. Much as I hate to say it, Fergie was not just a great manager, but he had his teams try and play good football.
  21. Listen, I was on the kop when we beat Blackburn with Kenny. Pretty much everyone around me wanted Blackburn to win at the start, but within ten minutes, everyone was cheering us to beat them. Football fans are football fans and they will get behind Everton if they are playing well. Someone mentioned that the difference between 5th and 6th is beginning the season a few weeks earlier. Players won't like the sound of that. I do think that this is the only game where City might slip up, as I think they'll have to much for Villa and West Ham.
  22. I really like Lallana, but I'm a bit concerned that he could be another Joe Allen level player if he comes to us. We are one of the biggest clubs in the world and the expectations next season will be huge. The players we sign have to be able to be markedly better than the lads that we have.
  23. I genuinely agree. I'm just terrified of the Palace game. Even, if City drop points at Everton, the mindset has to be to go for the 3 points rather than think we're sorted and we'll smash the bar codes. Palace are a dangerous kettle of fish and we seem to be at our best when we have to chase it rather than sit back.
