  1. good squad player. no idea how much he'd be worth though - if we could get a few quid for him, it wouldn't break my heart.
  2. I'm still predicting mancini from roma. I'd even think about taking a bet on it.
  3. paul I'm just here to cheer you up in these testing times. think of me as a little sunbeam in the dark. uncle m I'm PMing you as I didn't get a word of that. cheers lads.
  4. the bollocks some people come out with. his record = good. not outstanding, but a solid, blue chip good.
  5. I'll be interested to see the results of the audit. I think rafa will come out of it well - most, if not all of the players he's bought will have substantially increased in value, and he's successfuly moved on players who didn't work out. anyway, considering the size of our club (i.e. we're always going to be spending a fair bit on transfers), and the revenue brought in during his time here from europe, I don't think even £55m is much to spend over 3 years.
  6. shit the bed. and there was me thinking I'm being all space age with my little freeview box. to clarify then - £42/month for sky+, with £100 or so start up fees? fuck the 2 gig download limit though, that's like 2 porn torrents & you're fucked.
  7. I'll reboot you, cunt chops. didn't your mother teach you that it's not kind to laugh at other peoples' misfortune.

  9. right. one or two of the techies on here were kind enough to help me with some computer issues a while ago, and like a leech that doesn't know when to stop sucking, here I am again to ask for help. strangely enough, it's actually a problem that only TLW can solve, for reasons that will become clear over the next few sentences. basically, I've got some weird virus or something that intermittently blocks my internet use. sometimes it's ok, sometimes it's not, and sometimes it's ok and then it's not and then it's ok and then it's not. when it spazzes out, I just get this message that there's a 'problem loading page...firefox can't find the server'. at which point I disconnect, then reconnect, and it works for a bit. then it stops again. and the weird thing is, throughout all this, whenever I can't get any other site at all, guess which is the only site I can look at? yes! The Liverpool Way. SO, I would normally post this on one of the geek forums & ask them nicely to sort me out (which I've discovered works quite well normally), but being as how I can't even get onto those sites, I thought I'd try asking people on here. I've run AVG, spybot & trend micro anti-spyware & all they find is tracking cookies. any helpful suggestions will be mucho appreciated. cheers me dears.
  10. I don't really see what there is to argue with in Paul's posts. we were a long way behind united & chelsea last season, and on the basis of our recent close season experiences, we've every reason to doubt that parry et al will make it alright in the summer. added to which, the optimism felt by most of us who listened to the americans' sales patter rapidly seemed to evaporate when dave broke the news re. rafa's unhappiness. that felt like a bucket of cold water to the face, and I think we're all hoping we haven't been taken in. none of which is helped by the fact that the mancs have been so decisive & clinical in their transfer dealings so far. obviously it's way too early to be panicking, but there are good reasons for feeling wary about the way things are going - especially considering the noises rafa has been consistently making since the final. hopefully it's all a carefully considered bid on his part to make sure the mistakes of previous summers aren't repeated, and not the squawking of a man on the verge of giving up. ultimately all we can do is hope to fuck that hicks & gillett haven't been blagging us about their intentions.
  11. I can't help but feel a little depressed about all that. ooh I'm such a kneejerker aren't I?
  12. jesus that nearly killed me. punctuate man, it's hard to breathe otherwise. and if what dave says is true, I can't fucking believe what's going on at our club.
  13. there are some things my young apprentice that are beyond even me.
  14. yeah me too actually, but jesus...
  15. are you serious? I mean, are you actually being serious?
  16. I did, with the power of my mind.
