  1. Hamann poised for Bolton switchJun 9 2006 By Chris Bascombe, Liverpool Echo DIDI HAMANN is on the brink of leaving Anfield after Liverpool agreed a deal with Bolton. The Liverpool midfielder - an inspiration during a glorious seven year career -has been given permission to hold talks with Sam Allardyce. However, the player still hasn't decided to join the Lancashire side and must agree a personal terms and complete a medical. Hamann has returned Germany to watch his country's opening game in the World Cup and will make a decision over the weekend. Following a meeting with manager Rafa Benitez, it's become clear the German's chances of first team football would be limited this season. Story continues ADVERTISEMENT Hamann triggered a one-year extension to his Liverpool deal during the course of the last campaign, and originally intended to remain on Merseyside. But the emergence of Momo Sissoko, and return of Steven Gerrard to his favoured central midfield role next season, means Hamann will have fewer opportunities to feature. His departure would bring an end to a hugely successful Anfield career, during which time Hamann won every major honour apart from the Premiership. After signing for £7m from Newcastle in 1999, he was a key member of the cup treble winning side of 2001, and more famously helped transformthe Champions League final as a second half substitute. The 32-year-old played a similar role in the recent FA Cup success. His presence in the dressing room will also undoubtedly be missed, but Benitezwill feel it's in the best interests of the club and player to move on. Should Hamann agree terms with Allardyce, he's sure to leave Merseyside with tremendous appreciation following his sterling contribution. The deal is likely to be initially free, with the Reds receiving up to £500,000 if Hamann makes a certain number of Premiership appearances.

  6. but anyway below was posted on RAOTL; The next story sounds unrealistic but believe me its true and on august 31th we´ll talk again!!!! The reason it´s true because i´m a nephew of one of the biggest shareholder at Liverpool FC and that´s Mr. Morgan!!!! Liverpool FC will support Mr Benitez in the transfermarket in the Summer. The chairman, Mr Moores has agreed to give £10-£15 million out of his own pocket for one topplayer. So that will give Benitez room to get another 2 or 3 topplayers. Last weekend in a secret meeting there has been agreed by the board that the club will support Mr Benitez in the transfermarket with a budget of £35 million pound. That (£35 million) plus the £10-£15 million from Mr Moores, Rafael Benitez has a total budget of £45-£50 million too spend. The next players will be arriving in the summer: David Villa: £10 million + Moriëntes or Fernando Torres £20 million + Moriëntes Michael Owen: £10 million + Cissé Shaun W. Philips £15 million Pablo Aimar: £8 million Dudek and traoré will be sold for a combined fee of £5 million.

  8. Sankey: I didn't do it Mar 9 2006 By Greg O'Keeffe, Liverpool Echo GRAHAM Sankey today sensationally claimed he was NOT behind the attack for which Michael Shields is serving 15 years in a Bulgarian jail. On the steps of Liverpool magistrates court, just minutes after contesting a police bid for a football banning order, Sankey's solicitor read a statement in which the burly Anfield electrician retracted his confession. As Sankey lurked inside the court, his legal team insisted that after careful examination they were confident the attack he admitted to was different to the one in the Shields case. Reading the statement, solicitor David Kirwan said: "The Sankey family and myself are at a loss to understand why Mersey-side Police have chosen to bring these proceedings against my client. "Graham Sankey has never been involved in a football related incident in this country and the police application concerns an incident on foreign soil for which he has never been tried, let alone convicted. Story continues ADVERTISEMENT "We believe strongly that there is no foundation whatsoever for this action and would call upon the police to reconsider their position. "There are serious discrepancies between the evidence in the Bulgarian court in the Michael Shields case and the statement made by my client on July 28 last year. "It is our belief that we may be talking about two entirely separate incidents." He added: "There has been no contact from the Bulgarian authorities with my client." Wavertree student Michael Shields, 19, was jailed after being convicted of attempted murder by a Bulgarian court last summer. He has always denied smashing a paving slab on waiter Martin Georgiev's head. * Show your support for Michael by logging on to http://www.icliverpool.co.uk/shields

  12. Below was on Radio City website!!!!! Man City have rubbished internet rumours Robbie Fowler's set for a sensational return to Anfield. Fan forums are filled with claims the striker's to pen a six month deal with Liverpool. Officials from the Manchester club say no approach has been made for Fowler, from any club let alone Liverpool. An Anfield spokesman though 'refused to comment' on the transfer speculation. That's done nothing to stop these rumours doing the rounds on the net (below: Fowler at Anfield). It's claimed Rafa's keen on bringing the striker back, five years after he left for Leeds. Fowler is a huge Liverpool fan and it's no secret that he feels his Anfield career was cut short. Fitness would be a concern, often resigned to the bench at Man city. It's unclear if he'd even get a game if he were to pull on a Red shirt again. He was on target in the Manchester derby two weeks ago and celebrated by holding five fingers up - some thought that was to recognise Liverpool's Champions League win.
