  1. It's your opinion which is fair enough. I don't call you a tool for having a different opinion unlike the other cliquey twats on here
  2. Watched all the qualifiers that were on TV. Yes, they are underachieving but I dount believe it's down to Messi. I watch Barca whenever they're on as well and he is usually superb. Makes things happen out of absolutely nothing.
  3. You made no initial contribution to this thread, only to call someone else "a tool" because they believe one player to better than another...... You need to be more mature and constructive mate ...oh and please continue to fuck yourself
  4. Fair enough.......I do think he is a more talented player but its just my opinion. My original point was to do with "superfan" Philly who said he 'hated' Messi but wouldn't explain why.
  5. Go fuck youself, you 'follow the crowd' arsehole
  6. So, how many times have you seen Messi 'live' then ? prick
  7. Well, I mean overall. Gerrard is a superb player alright. I just believe Messi to be a genius and his displays for both club & country have shown that over the last few years. They are different types of players anyway so I suppose it's difficult to compare them but I can't see any reason why a Liverpool fan would actually "hate" Messi.
  8. Compare Messi's displays for Argentina and Gerrard's for England. Messi does the business against ANY opposition, Gerrard sometimes goes missing in big games.
  9. Why in God's name would you hate a wonderful player like Messi, who is a million miles more talented and a more effective player than Gerrard, especially in big games ? Or are you just trying to be controversial/funny (again) and not succeeding (again) ?
  10. Dont think so IMO, Maradona was the greatest player of all time..........Kenny was brilliant but not as good
  11. But if Torres is fit, where do you play him ? Rafa doesn't really do 4-4-2 and Owen doesn't play off the main striker very well
  12. Bollocks. He also practiaclly won a world cup on his own, joined a Napoli team which had never won anything in their history and won two Seria A titles and a Uefa Cup in 3 seasons with them. This, remember, was the toughest league in the world at the time, against the best defenders in the world where he was kicked from pillar to post. Pele spent almost his entire career with Santos in the Brazilian league, a league obviously known for it's superbly marshalled tight defences ! IMO, Maradona is the ONLY candidate for the greatest of all time.
  13. Well, normally they are far more entertaining and honest than any of the boring predictable shite you get from SKY, BBC, ITV or Setanta.....
  14. On Irish TV last night, Giles, Dunphy & Ronnie Whelan all agreed that Arbeloa, Kuyt and Lucas were not good enough for Liverpool.
  15. Totally forgot about La Liga. Not denying who has won more but my point is I believe the real difference between the two men is their style of football.
  16. Surely that is more down to the emergence of the chavs than anything Rafa has done. Wenger has won 3 prems, (runner up 5 times), 4 FA cups and 1 CL final runner up over 12 years. Rafa has won the CL, (plus runner up) and an FA cup over 4 years. As I said, they are both successful in their own right but Wenger's teams play totally different football to Rafa's. Rafa could well go on to winning titles but, for me, it's the approach by each manager which is the main difference.
  17. They are both successful managers at the top level. The main difference being Wenger's teams play great, attacking football, Rafa's certainly do not. :( Different philosophys......chalk & cheese really
  18. ..........................REINA ARBELOA......SKIRTEL.....CARRA......DOSSENA ................ALONSO.........MASCH.......... ....GERRARD...........KEANE............REIRA ..........................TORRES................... That would be my team for Saturday but Rafa will definitely start with Dirk on the right
  19. Do you actually think Rafa won't play Kuyt from the start ? He's the 1st name on the teamsheet.
  20. Is that enough though to justify his place. Dirk has no pace at all and has not got the ability to take on and skin the back. Therefore, Rafa is picking him to chase and hound full backs and help the midfielders by closing down anything the moves. Maybe Rash was right.........
  21. How do you know he doesn't complain behind the scenes ? He has already publically stated that he would love to play for Martin Jol in the future.
  22. He works his bollocks off for the shirt, which clearly endears him to the fans, especially nowadays with so many lazy millionaire players about, but he is a woeful attacking winger and not good enough for the LFC starting 11. Who do you think the Stoke defenders would have been more worried about....Kuyt or say El Zhar ? I'd say they were delighted to see his name on the team sheet. We didn't draw the game because of Kuyt, but we are less of an attacking threat with him.
  23. The loyalty shown to Kuyt on here is commendable, but the fact remains that is clearly a better player for us without the ball, than he is with the ball.......which again, is a sad indictment of Rafa's philosophy on how the game should be played.
  24. Kuyt should have never started this game. We know what he brings to the team and it wasn't required on Saturday. Babel, El Zar or even Pennant would have been a better option.
