Exactly. HR have Managements back and not ours. Of course there is the Union to support me or any of my colleagues but once you go down tha road then the inevitable will happen and I will get paid off to leave. This is a last resort. I only hope that other colleagues of mine take the same action I did (I have spoken to them about it) then maybe something can be done about the prick in question. He us running around the place like he owns the fucking shop and is hanging everyone he possibly can. The blame game is well and truly on....... Time to keep me head down and look after my own shit. As long as I do that I should be ok but I will never let some wanker threaten me like that.

Well a quick update as to what happened. So I ended up winning the account in question and the prick who threatened me sent me a text congratulating me when he was told. The fucking cheek of him. Anyways since the initial threat was thrown at me it appears that it has happened to some of my colleagues over the last month or so but they have so far not sone anything about it. I only hope that they do so and build up a case against this prick as he needs to be sorted out. Anyways I'm still employed and I gotta be happy about that!!!!! ;)

Yep totaly agree. In years gone my job was more about Account Management and relationship building. However since the economy went tits up its now turned into a pure numbers game and focused completely on sales. Now this has increased the pressure and stress. However once you are good at the first 2 (account management & relationships) then the sales will come in once u have matched the commericals on offer. This im ok with and accept. Just threats and ultimatums dont sit with me well and i felt i needed to stand up againt this prick. However my concern is now that i have done this, my career within this company will be short lived. I had planned to be with them for the long haul....

If they make my role redundant then they have to giv me another role within the company on the same terms and conditions that im currently on. The company in question was a former semi state company and was taken over by a larger foriegn multi national company and as part of the deal all current employers could not be given compulsory redundancy. Of course that is not true for all employees now but only for those of us who have been around since the take over. Stress leave is an option but (without wanting to sound like a prick) ive alot of pride in what i do and i couldnt take the leave without really warranting it and at this stage altho im stressed i would not need the leave to help me cope. Im fine overall and working my ass off to make things work, build my sales pipeline, achieve targets, retain accounts and win new business. just want this prick to leave me alone.

The contract Im on is water tight. Basically the only way they can get rid of me is by getting me to accept a pay off/voluntary redundancy. They cant even give me compulsory redundancy as my contract prevents them from doing that. The 8 weeks for every years serviced is open to everyone in my company at this moment in time so its on the table for me should I want it. However like I said I want to keep working.

Im well connected with the union so covered there. also given my 10 years service i would be well covered cash wise if i did get the boot (they would have to give me the redundancy package on offer which is 8 week for each year worked). however i want to keep on working and want this prick to just leave me alone and let me get on with my job. I guess my big concern is that as he is very senior and that i have made a complaint against him, then he will do whatvere it takes to drive me out.

Thats what im afraid of. My numbers overall are ok and the account in question I had very little time to build up the relationship and took it over 1 month before the tender was issued. However the prick in question is not having any of my facts (he calls them excuses).

I work for a well known multi national company in sales. While in these tough times profits are down and market share is decreasing however we are still making a healthy profit. Ive been here 10 years and worked my way up the ladder from the call centre to my current position as a National Account Manager. Anyway last week one of the senior managers threatened me with the sack should i lose an account. The account in question is currently out to tender and im hopeful of retaining the business. While the account in question is important to the company, we have lost/won tenders much larger in the past. In all my time with the company i have never come across a colleague of mine being fired for losing an account. The Manager in question is also not directly involved in my chain of coammand (atho he is very senior). I was shocked with his comment and queried it and again he stated my job was on the line. I have since made a complaint to HR stating that I do not appreciate such threats being made to me espcially considering the pressure i am currently under and also the fact that hes not my boss anyway (altho like i said hes very senior). My immediate boss said i wasright to stand up for myself.... My questions i guess are: was i right to make the complaint? anyone had anything similar to happen? should i check out the job pages as my days are numbered?

Fair enough. Like I said I agree with your point. Interesting to see Rafa bigging up Lucas after the match today . It seems he will do whatever it takes to change the fans opinions of him. Not sure if thats good man management to give the lad some confidence or fucking plain stupid as hes shit? (ok not shit but not what we are looking for).

I agree with the basic point - Masch & Lucas cant play in the middle of the park together if we are to be succesful. Just cant figure out why u think rafa got a lesson today as it was against burnley at anfield.

our first home league defeat in nearly 2 years and this place goes into meltdown. Well funny. For any Rafa out posters - just a quick question. Who else is there out there better than Rafa?

Can't believe some of the predictions on here for sunday. Worried, scrape a draw, sneak a win etc.... Its only spurs for fucks sake. We should beat these comfortably and control the game if we have any aspirations on winiing the league. Yeah we lost there last season in the league but that was a freak result and we should have had the game over by half time. 0-2 Torres and Dirk either side of half time. No problem. A bit of optimism here lads......

Alot of Utd fans feel ferguson has ruined rooney for constantly playing him out of position and sticking him on the flanks. With ronaldo gone this could be the season where he is played in his proper postion as a central striker. However if you look at his career which is now 6 seasons old, his goals per game ratio does not warrant the love fest that surrounds Rooney. Yeah hes good but hes no Torres when it comes to being a goalscorer. And hes a prick.
