  1. You'd think if he was as ace as Barclay, Ridley, Winter and all the other Ingurland hacks think he is they'd be clamouring for him to take the England job from Capello... but they're not and never have.
  2. Judging managers on cup success is perhaps thee most flawed guide. Ditto signing players based on cup runs.
  3. Great character actor and sad loss. Strange to think I saw him recently in 'The Town'.
  4. Roy is just kopping it in a different way. Houllier got the "attack attack attack" chants of disapproval and Souness towards the end had "Souness for Everton" slung at him. In Roy's case, I've never known any Liverpool manager receive such an underwhelming welcome. The truth is the he was a staggeringly bad choice.
  5. Rangnick seems like a Wengereque punt; has dropped to a lower level but a studious thinker about the game.
  6. The press will undoubtedly try and trip him up. Another Souness perhaps.
  7. Think he means his duty as manager to represent the club at and to shoulder much of the emotional burden of the public face of Liverpool. He's not having a pop just saying this was the duty of the Liverpool manager. It would be hard for anybody not to be consumed by the sorrow. Him stepping down was right for all concerned.
  8. Yesterday's piece from SI and the above from Fanning sum up my feelings for Roy. He simply doesn't understand the club. The English media can't seem to grasp this.
  9. I'd love this to happen but my head says today's win may have bought him more time.
  10. Would Old Trafford be full if they'd had the football we have for a decade?
  11. Right now we don't know if this is a calculated leak from the owners or an unguarded word from someone within the club. Roy may have also told somebody he expects the boot shortly.
  12. This is probably shadow boxing, not the end but the beginning of the end. FSG vocally supported him when they arrived but don't seem to be falling over themselves now to give him the dreaded vote of confidence.
  13. I thought that too, a shitehouse dig. In comparing Dalglish to Keegan it seems to slip his mind that Kenny has taken teams to titles.
  14. Maybe. Barclay is still singing his praises on Twitter and apparently publishing a piece on Royston tomorrow.
  15. Not sure why anybody is having a hissy fit. So he's a lame duck, did anybody think Roy would be here next season? Do you think Hodgson is blissfully unaware the bullet is in the chamber? I can't see this dragging on for long and tbh I suspect Bolton will be Roy's last game.
  16. If we had no manager and the players were just told to go out for a kickabout I doubt they could perform worse. I'd like Kenny to step-in and unemotionally review the position in the summer.
  17. Didn't we all quietly suspect this? Roy may be a 'good man' but we're in a football competition not a media popularity contest.
  18. Vocally in the dressing room they'll support him, but the body language suggests otherwise. He's just kidding himself.
  19. I guess this post is a recruit drive due to members not renewing.
