Agreed. Had anyone told me a week ago that Torres would sign for chelsea, I would have been devastated. But the fact was as soon as he handed in the transfer request I wanted him gone, and now he is just another player. I liked the way we held firm on the £50m, and acted quickly when it became apparant that FT was off. Although Carroll was overpriced, we showed determination and intent by making sure it went through. We are a better team today, than we were 2 days ago, as the Torres who has turned up for us the last year or so, is nowhere near worth £50m.

It`s a loan with a view to make it permanent in the summer. Better to loan him to have a proper look before deciding if will take up the option to make the deal permanent, than to splash out £300 000 now and release him in a year.

So how long before the 2011 summer transfer window thread is unleashed upon us?

Strangely Im feeling quite optimistic. As soon as Torres handed in the transfer request, I wanted him out. The Carroll fee was obscene, and 15m too high. But still I feel we are in a better shape now than we were a week ago. Still concerned about the lack of pace in our squad, that needs adressing in the summer.

If i remember correctly when this rule came into affect, the PL signed the agreement, not the football league. So the rule is PL only. But if you have done your research, im sure you`re right. I would`nt trust my memory alone.

That`s the thing. He have been asking for investment in the team. And as we are about to break our transfer record, he ask for a transfer. The timing is ridiculous, especially since it`s to a Chelsea team in freefall. Torres is the one to blame. Clearly he has been adviced badly, but at the end of the day, he is responsible for his actions. Had he at least waited until the season was over, he could have walked out with much more respect. Now he leaves with his legacy in tatters. Stupid stupid boy.

He is a cunt though. All those "words" during his stay here now just rings hollow. Means absolutely nothing. It`s not the fact that he wants away, as it`s understandable the way things have been going the last 18 months. It`s the timing. If he feels this strong, he could have made it known 3 weeks ago. Or better, made it known to the manager, but playing out the season out of respect to the club, his teammates and the fans. After going through all the madness, all the mayhem, then finally when the King returns, when everyone again feels there`s light at the end of the tunnel, on the day where we are about to heavily invest in the team, he decides to put in a transfer request. The time could`nt be worse. We thought he was different. He was`nt and he will fit in well at Chelsea. Now he leaves with absolutely no respect. Just another cynical like Owen. He is about to destroy the legacy he has built here. If he ever plays for us again, he will lose the fans, his gutless performances, that have been quite a few of this season, will not be excused anymore. I want him gone.
