  1. But what makes a high calibre MP? And what qualifications do they need? Experience wise surely that comes from being an MP? Maybe the right way to go is to lower the wage to discourage already well off people from standing? A lower wage would surely result in politicians more representative of society who therefore have society at the forefront of their thinking?
  2. Maybe the gays could be given a piece of land somewhere, where they can live without fear of persecution.
  3. I don't think he's saying that to downplay the Barnes incident, more to explain why the referee didn't react to it, i.e. he wasn't the only one.
  4. Perhaps I'm not understanding your point, but I did ask a couple of times exactly what you meant. My point is that it's not hard, and I think is quite normal, to differentiate between how someone behaves in their public role and how they might behave in their private life on a personal level.
  5. Again of course you can and I'm not for one minute suggesting you're forcing it on anyone, I'm just saying it's quite senseless and open to ridicule. I know plenty of people who don't particularly like Brendan Rodgers, Liverpool Manager. But I don't think I've heard a single one remark on what they think he's like in private. I think Jose Mourinho is an absolute cock, but do I think he behaves that way with his family? No. I agree with you on Tony Blair, but I've no reason to believe that spills over into his private life.
  6. So you think it's normal to say someone is a liar on a personal level without actually knowing them on a personal level?
  7. Of course it is, and I get someone saying they can't take to him or he comes across as a bit of a knob sometimes. But to say you think someone is a liar on a personal level (if that is what you're saying) based on his public face as a football manager is quite ridiculous.
  8. And you're talking about the man here, not the manager? If the former can I ask what personal dealings you have had with him? And if the latter you can't just put it down to being economical with the truth as being part and parcel of a football managers job?
  9. Does he? Or does he deserve understanding for being an inexperienced manager?
  10. You can't be serious? Anyone, Anubis or otherwise, who thinks like that and more so actually says it will rightly be pulled up, perhaps even ridiculed.
  11. Stating the obvious I know but I am concerned about Lallana considering his age and experience in English football. He looks nothing more than decent squad player at best, hope he proves me wrong.
  12. I think you probably mean the press and TV pundits make him a distraction and appear high maintenance, as I don't think the lad has done too much (anything?) wrong while he's been here.
  13. Yeah because they didn't have a current Liverpool player (captain no less) making an issue out if it up in the TV studio.
  14. What the fuck are you on about? My problem was not what went on on the pitch but up in the ITV studio.
  15. These things happen on a football pitch all the time, it wasn't great but I'm sure it would have blown over, and I'm also sure Gerrard, if coming on as a sub, would have taken the ball off Henderson.I'm not sure any of the players involved will be happy with Gerrard throwing his oar in on national television though.
  16. Yes it does. He could have played it down for the sake of the club (which he probably would have done if he'd stopped at the quotes you posted) but instead continued and stoked the fires with personal digs at Balotelli.
  17. Actually I didn't watch the post match stuff but they're quotes on the BBC text coverage of the game and it's aftermath.
  18. You missed out the pathetic "rules are rules", and the disrespectful (to the club) "Mario was mischievous...Mario was disrespectful."
  19. And the person who comes out the worst for that penalty situation? Gerrard. He's a dick sometimes.
  20. Funking hell, how anyone can say with a straight face that wasn't a dive by Rooney I don't know , but I suppose they are a pair of complete and utter mongs. Kilbane could have been a little more forceful in his assertion but at least he didn't just blatantly lie about it.
  21. Feel free to take a look at my join date moof, I'll accept your apology in advance!
  22. Robbie didn't have to hold the club to ransom as despite the added bonus of him being a local lad, probably not keen on moving, we offered him an unprecedented deal. That's the difference between the club then and now, resulting in what I believe is a first time scenario for us with Sterling the guinea pig. The comparison between Fowler's ability and Sterling's comparitive lack of is not one I'd strongly disagree with (but would point out their respective positions automatically makes Fowler more distinct), however I'm fairly sure that Sterling is on the radar of every major club in Europe as much as Fowler ever was.
  23. We don't know what he's asking, and I might be kidding myself, but I fully expect it's not greed but market value as we have paid several youngsters in the past. If we can't do that anymore then we do have to pretty much accept we are a selling club.
