  1. Thanks to my mate in shandy drinking cockney land for this info, see last paragraph for the exciting information: Igor Bišćan (born May 4, 1978 in Zagreb, Croatia) is a Croatian football player, who plays primarily as a defensive central midfielder. He is currently a free agent, having left Panathinaikos. He has played 15 games for Croatia, scoring one goal, though his international career has suffered from an incident in which he walked out of an international training camp, leading to a long-standing ban. At the start of his career Bišćan began to amass an impressive level of playing experience, representing Croatia at youth football level and then captaining his club, Dinamo Zagreb, in the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Cup. His contract was bought by former Liverpool manager Gérard Houllier for £5.5 million in December 2000, having been sought after by Juventus, Barcelona, Ajax and A.C. Milan. However, Houllier often played Bišćan out of position, opting to play him sometimes as a winger or full back, but most often as a centre back, where he played for 39 games in the 2003-04 season. The following season, though not an automatic choice for the first team under new manager Rafael Benítez, Bišćan was played in his favourite position when he got a chance through injuries to other players, in particular playing a vital part in Liverpool's run to the final of the Champions League, and was notable particularly for his marauding runs in the middle of the park during matches against Bayer Leverkusen, Juventus and Chelsea F.C.. Although he was replaced by the returning Xabi Alonso in the final, Bišćan had clearly played a vital part in the historic success. Bišćan made 118 appearances for Liverpool, and scored three goals. The first came in a Worthington Cup semi-final second leg against Crystal Palace at Anfield, which Liverpool won 5-0 on the night (having previously been 2-1 down after the first leg). The second came in a 4-2 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage. Liverpool came from 2-0 down to win 4-2. Biscan came on as a late substitute and scored with his second touch of the game. His third goal was a late winner in the 1-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers at Anfield. During his time at Liverpool, Bišćan made himself a cult hero among the fans, particularly in his final European campaign. Biscan joined Greek side Panathinaikos in July 2005 after he was released by Liverpool. It has been thought that Bolton are considering bringing the Croatian back to England for £750,000. Celtic are also thought to be monoriting the situation and Dinamo Zagreb is also trying to bring his "product" back home.
  2. Oh yes, i'll be there. Another good reason to add to my list of "why i moved to Switzerland" Happy Days
  3. I went out last night for a few and felt fine. We all talked about team selection and all that and when I got back home it hit me, tomorrow is the fucking final. Ended up tossing (at least twice with my hand ;) ) and turning all night and ended up asleep around 4am and woke at 8am on the dot which is well strange for me. Headed down stairs and saw the front of todays Mirror and then i started shitting it, now I'm sat with laptop on knee watching youtube clips of 2005 while sky sports show the route to Athens, at the mo it's the 1st leg v PSV, and I have to say I'M FUCKING BRICKING IT, but think we'll win! Off into town in an hour so a few wife beaters down my neck and I'll feel a little better, hopefully!

    REGRET

Regret's, I've got a few, but as us all the worst is a past relationship. She moved from Ormskirk to Live in London, I hate the place (no offence to any of you lot down there, it's just not for me), we did the long distance for a few months but it seriously did my head in getting to see her once every 2-3 weekends, and then she met a load of new mates and all that shit, my head nearly burst. I ended it after a months "break" and at the time it was the right thing to do as I was in a right down mood over it all, but when I think back (which is after around 4-5 pints) I think all sorts of stuff, and end up thinking that I should have just grown some balls and tried living in London. Fucking stupid thing is 6 months later I fucked off to live in Zurich of all places, but this is where another regret may just be about to form. I came home to work in UK office for 5 weeks (which also included the Chelsea game) and I got so used to being home again and all that, and to be honest work is shite at present, no fucker will talk English to you and other things I won't go into, so on Thursday last week I quit, fucking well done Wes :wallbutt: I just can't settle over here and would rather go back to UK, so that is that, I'll prob regret this in around 6 months, typical!
  5. I know you may all be sick and tired of seeing this magic moment but i've just uploaded my video clip of Dirks peno and all of what happens after. Have a look but make sure you have the sound turned up! Enjoy
  6. I've been working for the same company for 6 years now. Last year they closed down the UK office and made me redundent, but at the final hour the company head office in Zurich offered me to move me over, relocate and do the same job, so i said yes. I've been here 7 months now and it's been going well, but recently I've had feelings for home and i'm thinking of handing in my notice and coming back! I'm back home on the lovely Wirral at the moment for easter and I'm loving it, get to see my family and mates, drive my car and go to the games, great stuff! It's a strange thing to say and never thought i would say it but........ god I miss the UK!! And now they have told me I can't have the time off for the Semi Final home game (if we get that far  ) which has pissed me off big time, fucking Swiss cunts!
  7. I think they ran out of players going by the number of Bolton shit on the bench!
  8. What the fuck, Diouf is in the European squad!!! This IS WANK!

    Iron Maiden

You're not gonna be happy mate as they only played 4 old songs, all the rest if off the new album so you'd better go listen too it. They don't play "Bring your daughter to the slaughter" or "Run till the hills" or "Can I play with madness", the only major classic they play is "Fear of the dark"!! Sorry mate, still bloody good tho!
  15. Just got back from seeing Iron Maiden Live in Zurich, they fuckin' rocked!! One of the best live bands i've ever seen, top notch. I thank you....

  20. Hello chaps, For those of you who don’t know I have moved away from the beautiful Wirral to the sights and sounds of tolberone filled Switzerland, Zurich to be precise. This is due to my job being relocated over the water so I thought I’d take the offer, pay rise and relocation package and scarper. I’ve been here 3 weeks now and it’s all going smoothly, thanks for asking  ! Managed to build a satellite dish I bought and got Sky working so some normality is in place, Soccer Saturday, Hollyoaks omnibus on a Sunday, you know the usual stuff. Anyway I thought I would take a walk on the wild side and go to a Swiss game. Now I’ve always thought of Grasshoppers to be my Swiss team, but upon my arrival I was given a FC Zurich shirt as a present by a work college so FC Zurich is now my team. We went yesterday to the FC Zurich v Basel game, it ended 3-2 to Zurich and was like watching Chester City. Utter utter crap but at the same time funny. Half the players couldn’t control or pass a ball and the other half just looked pissed. One guy was just running with the ball down the flank and with no player is site and then just fell over, rolled over for a few hundred times and then substituted himself. I found out later that he had pulled his calf muscle, fucking whimp, Harry Kewell take note. It was good to see the Basel fans bounce around again just like at Anfield a few years back. How they get to be so in time I’ll never know, but it’s like watching the front of an Oasis concert. We were sat near the dug out so I thought it would be good to sing “baldy bastard clap clap calp calp calp…” aimed towards Christian Gross, the Basel manager, which resulted in a few Swiss-German abuse thrown my way, couldn’t understand a bit of it but I continued for a while yet with “He’s got a big fat head…….” and “5 times”, I stopped when I got a sausage thrown at me. At the start of the game they had a huge flag lifted over the Basel fans end. It was to “try” and join the 2 teams in friendship as in the past the riots during and after this game had been quite bad. So there was this flag with the Basel badge on one side and the FC Zurich on the other. The Basel fans didn’t like this and set off a number of fireworks aimed at the FC Zurich badge resulting in the fucker going up in flames, for a split second I thought it was going to end up like the Bradford fire but thankfully it burnt out pretty quick. Left a bloody big mark tho, going to be an expensive paint job that. The rest of the game was just end to end abuse between the fans. I think the ref got hit twice by objects thrown on the pitch, the Basel keeper nearly had his head decapitated by a few hundred bog rolls thrown at him, there was apples, bananas, beer bottles thrown, you name it it was prob on the pitch. At the final whistle I stood to clap the players off the pitch and turned towards the Basel fans to find there end completely empty, not one fan was left in the ground. We wandered outside and there was an army of Swiss police fighting with what looked like a 500 Basel fans. Pure carnage it was, any car that got in the way was either moved by hand or smashed to bits. The police couldn’t handle the fans so in came the fire department with the water cannons. Now I’ve seen England fans on TV get hit by these buggers but always thought “I could withstand that no problem” but I then saw a guy who was twice the size of Chubby Brown get hit by a blast of water and it picked him up and threw him back about 20 yards, unbelievable. It was after seeing that I thought it would be best to scarper so we did. All in all a funny old game that. The End.
  21. It looks the bollocks!! Have ordered it on Amazon and says it will be delivered 26th October, same day as Pro Evolution 6 (which has been ordered also!). Game fucking on!!
