On the Gakpo discussion, I thought he protected Tsimikas well in the first half. Not necessarily defensively, but Kostas grew into the game because consistently had an easy pass to Gakpo. You could see his confidence increase as the game went on. It was a bit of a Gini/Jones performance. 

Gravenberch kind of looks for a ball to turn and go, but does this empty that space a little? 

100% on Virgil. He has been superb this season, but was imperious yesterday. 

Not fully on board with the Bentford appreciation. Five massive grocks across the back, supplemented by three hard working but limited midfielders, all happy to flop to the floor to win soft free kicks to exploit their main weapon, the set piece. Aided and abetted by the cunt in the middle, who applied the Taylor/Tierney Law - any Liverpool challenge is a free-kick (SIXTEEN of them), except, curiously the Endo challenge where VAR had to stick its unwanted nose in. I do like Mbuemo, though, and Frank is ok, apart from his blather about the Endo tackle. 

I agree with the exasperation about the media talking about depleted Spurs, injury-stricken Newcastle etc, when none of them barely acknowledged the fact that our poor season last year was not only about a drop-off in form, but the ridiculous amount of injuries and that our results improved dramatically upon the return of Jota, Jones and Diaz. And that bench yesterday - scary.
