  1. According to a radio report yesterday he hasn't had a goal attempt on target for Villa this season. How some managers rate this useless coward is beyond me. Has any striker ever reached his level with such a poor goal record?
  2. Xabi Alonso: Why I left Liverpool FC - News - Liverpool FC - Liverpool Echo Basically couldnt stand Rafe for another season I'll get my coat and run for cover
  3. tea

    Alonso

M'side presenter said he heard on 5live that Alonso might coming back. He said he was fed up having no regular 1st team place. Anybody hear it on 5, they haven't expanded on m'side?
  4. Sky Sports News and a good few other sources are linking us with him. What do people think? I think he's a fine player. And if we get rid of Mascherano for £35 Million we could do alot worse than bringing Defour to Anfield for £15 Million. Thoughts?
  5. Dunno if there's a thread already but he has handed in a transfer request and City are supposedly willing to let him go for 10 million. Thats a baragin. We would be mad not to be in for that. A goalscoring box to box midfielder with a great eye for a pass. Yes he's insane but I think we are missing someone like this.(his football not insanity)
  6. Paul Scharner is set for talks with Liverpool next week over a possible free transfer to Merseyside. New Reds boss Roy Hodgson is thought to be an admirer of the versatile 30-year-old, who left Wigan after his contract expired at the end of last season. Hodgson tried to sign the Austrian on three occasions when manager of Fulham, but failed in each attempt. It was also thought that the 62-year-old was trying to secure his signature at Craven Cottage before moving to Anfield at the start of July. Aston Villa and Sunderland are also rumoured to be interested in landing Scharner's signature, but Liverpool is believed to be his preferred destination. If the deal is to be successful, Scharner could possibly fill the void left by defensive midfielder Javier Mascherano should the Argentine depart. "Roy Hodgson and Paul Scharner - this is a special relationship," said Scharner's agent, Valentin Hobel. "Hodgson thinks that Paul's strengths in midfield are better than his attributes in central defence. "Liverpool would be a dream, of course, but we are in contact with several clubs. Because he is a free transfer, he can choose." ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hmmm didn't see this one coming, but free and low wages, versatile and solid and a step up from Lucas. Can cover CB positions too.
  7. ive never seen a more pointless player with a WC medal, he offers nothing, he dives, he constantly passes the ball backwards, hes not fast nor is he a good tackler, he scored like one goal in his career. A poor mans Lucas who is stealing a living
  8. If he signs for Mourinho at Madrid won't it just be admitting he should have signed for him at Chelsea in 2004 and 2005?
  9. Would you hold it against him? The lad would have to go down for me as the best player never to win a league title should he remain with us, as I have a feeling were going to get worse before we get better. The mans been nothing short of miraculous during his career and has twice shown that his loyalty was always towards us. For the sake of Stevies career, I personally think its time to move on, and i say that as a die hard season ticket holder who loves the club. It would be a fucking shame for him to finish off with such a limited amount of trophies considering his talent. For me, i'd wish him all the best (obviously should he fuck off abroad).
  10. Bid 20 Million for the lad. Is good like but is he worth that much ? I dont think so personally but it puts other clubs in a precarious position when you consider they can afford to pay this much for a player like Milner and not batter an eye lid. How can anyone compete with that ?
