  1. @AngryOfTuebrook has written many articles for this red top. Codename.. Angry Lev DB formely of Tuebrook
  2. Come next season, when everyone is 'fit' and has had a Klopp boot camp, we will have front 3 options of Diaz, Nunez, Jota, Gakpo, Salah and Elliott. I really can't see the merit in giving Firmino a new contract of any more than a year, which I doubt he'd want. From what I've seen of Fabio Cravalho, not only does he need a loan to get regular playing time, but he's best suited to the Firmino role in the future, dropping off from the number 9 position to link up play. He's not a wide forward. IF we were to buy another forward and given our Midfield situation, money could be better spent elsewhere, then it should be another option for the right hand side to give Mo either a rest and back up, or competition. To my mind, Elliott is never a Midfielder and is best used on the right of the front 3, so all things considered, next season we are Ok for the front 3 postions when you don't factor in the curse of injuries. Ideally I'd like another dedicated right forward, but we need at least 2 midfielders, if not three and a centre half before we spend on forwards.
  3. Fucking useless winning goal scoring shitbags. Waste of money the pair. It's almost like giving new players from abroad time to settle in and adapt to a new system, is a good idea.
  4. Happy Birthday Shep lad, have a good one. Some light listening for your early night.
  5. maybe mate, I have no idea. All I do know is that for us...they were Klopp signings. BUT as I said previously, so were Chamberlain and Keita. So what you gain with one had, you lose with the other. Klopp will obviously had a letter to Santa in the summer about who he wanted to bring in and judging by all the noise in the press, both local and European, Tchouameni was number one on the hit list, which means he knew then and now that a marauding, pressing, ball playing Midfielder was of immense importance. But, just like any other list, there will be other players in different positions on there. Chances are Nunez was 2nd. I'm only guessing here but chances are the owners have said something like "now we've renewed Milner, Henderson and Fabinho at your request, just how many midfielders is enough? You've got about 10, get rid of 2 or 3 and you can have a new one". So, this Summer all of Milner, Keita and Chamberlain are out of contract, get rid of them, plus Jones, before the rest of the world realise he isn't actually of PL standard and you have space for 2 or 3 more. Plus, if nobody has realised that Fabinho has had his legs replaced with Iron girders, we might be able to out him to Italy where football is at walking pace, That means then that MF can be addressed this coming Summer (owners actually providing funds notwishstanding and we all know they get worried spending without major outgoings). All I'm saying is, Klopp has probably got the players he wants, just in the wrong order, but that's no reason for us all to go running round public parks with our knobs out shouting "revolution"
  6. All we've discovered so far this season is that Mane was the best and most important player of our famed front 3. What we discovered last season was that replacing Wijnaldum with Thiago was a terrible idea. What we need to rectify is a Midfield unti who press like hungry dogs and that will never happen while we play a kid learning his trade, a stylish, yet injury prone luxury player and Keita, a player who has been mostly useless since he arrived and that nobody else wants for any kind of fee. There are layers of arguments here. Is Klopp trustworthy in the transfer market? Had we shifted no marks in the summer to reduce the wage bill would the owners have funded more signings? Who is now making the decisions as far as recruitment goes?
  7. yes to the first part Comrade, spot on and they need replacing with players of similar mentality. BUT, all the evidence suggests that both Mane and Wijnaldum were Klopp signings as he tried to get both for Dortmund. As for part 2 I really don't know, the evidence would suggest that Edwards was grand at moving players on at a premium, BUT, the stark reality is that nobody wanted Keita or Chamberlain last summer or in this last window, even at knockdown or giveaway prices. That clearly had a real impact on transfer decisions. Had those two gone off the wage bill, then the likelihood is that a new Midfielder would've come in. Plus, nobody could have predicted the regression of Fabinho who now looks like he's retired and that Jones would be out with Hornet stings to his arsehole and general maladies not know to medical science. In an ideal world, Gerrard would've still been Villa manager and had more money to spend and taken Jones and Chamberlain off us, but our luck, which we have ridden for years has run out. We have outed no marks for good money and relied on 94th minute Matip headed winners for a 2 seasons or more and that luck has simply run out. We are where we are, either by bad luck or bad judgment.
  8. The issue is that we haven't replaced what Mane and Wijnaldum brought to the team, which was energy, work ethic, tracking back and the ability to keep hold of the ball. Currently, our full backs are totally exposed because they haven;t had that much defending to do over the last few seasons. I'm hoping and there's no reason to suggest otherwise, that Klopp knows what he's doing, granted, Carts have been put before Horses and we seem to have loaded up on forwards, but come the summer, with the addition of 2 or 3 midfielders who fit the scheme, then we will be in a much better place. Granted, it seems madness NOW to go balls deep for Nunez after we got fucked off by Tchouameni, but we get the equivalent player, plus another in the Summer, then we are back on plan. Of course, that is dependent on the owners actually stumping up the funds, but with Chamberlain and Keita going, plus a couple of others, there should be room for MF signings that the manager wants. I'm not even playing Devils Advocate for the owners here as I think they are basic at best, but we've got about 9 or 10 MFers (in name only) on the books, shed some of those and we might get who the manager wants. IF we don't get who the manager wants for MF in the summer, then that's a different argument entirely, but as of now, the boss has been able to sign players he wanted. Mind he also wanted Keita and Chamberlain. I wasn't exactly enamoured with the idea of giving Henderson a new 4 year deal and I'm not in favour of extending Firmino, but given the recent track record of competing on all fronts, let;s not piss our pants yet. It's been obvious for weeks and months now that we have an ageing and injury prone squad and there is an argument that money COULD have been spent more wisely, but Klopp has delivered season on season so let's not write off new, young players as being shit.
  9. Let's not start biting pillows just yet. Both young and talented players in their first few months in English football and bought for the future. Both bought with a longer term plan in mind. I think it's now accepted that this is a transition season at best, but they aren't shit, they've just been introduced into a malfunctioning system where the Midfield behind is all over the place. It's not ideal obviously, but hopefully this season is short term hardship for longer term gain.
  10. "clean sheet after 45 minutes against the league leaders lad. Better manager than Klopp already lad"
  11. Linked with Arnautovic tonight, which can only mean one thing. The managerial 'hot' seat has been filled. I'd laugh until I coughed up vital organs. Arnatovic in, Pardew as manager and that fat fucking slob Mike Ashley as the new owner. The dream ticket.
  12. As it stands, they're probably only 2 or three knockbacks away from contacting Steve Bruce.
  13. and pay the players wages for months after Moshiri fucks off taking lock, stock and barrels with him. It surely can't be long before Moshiri says fuck this and flogs everything worth a few quid and fucks off to Bermuda or Kazakhstan.
  14. "Nah, just misquoted lad, really he's more like Tony Benn in his outlook than that Tory fucker Lampard, who, even though it was kept from us, was a Tory cunt. Had we known he was a Tory, never would've given him house room lad. I googled it lad, no mention of him being a Tory lad. Now he's been sacked, all over the internet lad"
  15. Could you imagine if they gave it to Sol Campbell until the end of the season? I don't think I'd ever recover from the consequences of absolute hilarity.
  16. Apt and specifically chosen! First team to go down having conceded 150+ goals. I don't think I'd ever recover from the rib ache if they went down playing Bielsa-ball. And he had them all doing bed stripping in Arrowe Park and Clatterbridge for 4 days after every loss.
  17. Let it live rent free, cooks it's meals and do it's laundry.
  18. I could live with that. In fact, I'd let it live in my main bedroom rent free and cook it's meals until May.
  19. I saw them linked with Bielsa this morning. Please let this happen. Watching a team of skill-less, talentless hoofers and cloggers, low on confidence trying to play Bielsa-ball and losing 9-2 every week would be more than adequate compensation for Frank having his successful stint cut short.
  20. Just wait for the absolute fall out when he realises he's been properly conned as the translator said "a team in Liverpool want you until the end of the season with a view to a permanent transfer".
  21. I have this notion that being an Evertonian these days is based purely on an evolutionary ability to shout "EH, EH, EH" in an ever more aggressive tone from generation to generation.
  22. Jam tomorrow, or in the summer. There's always Jam in the summer.
  23. "ultimately, we're gagging for another wide ranging and uncontrollable variant of Covid, we were top of the league for that week or two when old people with lung and respiratory problems were dying and another wave can't come quick enough so our fans are restricted entrance to the ground and we can get Spirit of the Blues back to number 1" Said Moshiri, Kenwright, Andy Gray, the hairy footed cunt Keys and Mike Lyons.
