  1. They'd be complaining to riley, the same twat who said Kenny was wasting his breath going on about bad reffing decisions, presumably because even then, riley was in denial about how shit his officials were.
  2. You have to wonder why they are having these issues with VAR in England when they dont seem to have them in the Bundesliga, Serie A and presumably La Liga. I dont see them going to millimetres from a camera angle not perpendicular to the incident especially in the Bundesliga. The PL cannot be the only league in Europe where offsides are down to such fine margins. I keep saying it, mike riley is a fucking clown. He's the one issuing instructions to his officials how to interpret situations. Everyone in the Sky studio was saying our goal will stand when VAR finishes reviewing it. They were incredulous it was wiped out. This stuff is down to incompetence. But we need to re group and re organise and let the sense of injustice drive us on.
  3. I really thought he'd go with Fab in midfield even with City the next league game. Fully understand him not risking him though. Come on boys.
  4. Think your being a bit harsh there. The players ability to perform at top levels of fitness game in, game out isnt decided by the big wages they pick up. It's about recovery and time spent on the training ground as Klopp said.
  5. Jurgen talking sense yet again. No doubt the ignorant fans from other clubs will say he's just moaning. The way FIFA have been allowed to insert so many international games into the calender is appalling. We have 3 or 4 PL games at the start of the season then have an international break. We had the CL finaland then UEFA's league of nations semi and final a week to 10 days later. It's utter madness. Domestically we have the EFL cup where the final is hardly ever contested by an EFL club never mind two. I keep saying it but PL clubs shouldnt be in it. The FL fixtures in December and January are a joke. I get exhausted by all the football at that time of year sometimes so goodness knows how the players cope.
  6. Oh come on. You've just spun a half truth to represent what you want ie the club's deal isnt what it trumpeted. Point in question, yes, the club has a kit deal coming to an end and looking for a new deal. The club is also on a higher upward trajectory and currently European Champions. Even coco would be looking for more money than the current one. I havent seen a single article with direct quotes from the club suggesting any figure they're looking for. But clearly they're going to be looking to sign a bigger deal. They'd do that even if the club wasnt on such a high. But you've taken it as a given that the club was trumpeting a 70m deal when it's done no such thing. That then becomes the stick to beat the club or rather the US owners not delivering or just taking bullshit or spending the unacknowledge extra money on a yatch. Any event, the Court has again chucked out NB's appeal and Liverpool should be signing up with Nike very soon.
  7. They wouldnt be that daft but if they did, Id snap their hands off. Sure, they are different types of player and we could do with prioritising a goalscoring midfielder. But, Naby's injury record is really starting to grip my shits now. He might be very unlucky since he came here but, you make your own luck to some extent. I think he made a major mistake going to the ACON instead of telling his international manager he was fucked, playing one game, getting fucked and now struggling with his club for fitness and game time.
  8. Was talking mainly on his performance in the first half. I think someone said when he went more central in the 2nd half he came alive and Id agree with that.
  9. The Philippino economy is not some dogshit 3rd world economy. It's actually quite booming. The club is signed up to making sure its suppliers pay a living wage for some years now after it came out manchester united were paying sweatshop rates to the people making footballs to sell in its mega store. One would presume Liverpool would hold Nike to the same conditions as the rest of their suppliers.
  10. The afternoon after the night before. How do you sum that game up? It wasnt a classic yet in some ways it was. It had mistakes, experience, inexperience and it had goals galore, some very good. Ive said many a time I dont think we should be in this competition. I find it more than a little sad that in the Football League's own cup competition, there's virtually no representation by their clubs. Plucky Colchester have made it through but it would be the shock of all shocks it fhey get to the semi never mind the final. I havent a clue when was the last time an EFL club got to the final, was it Cardiff v us in 2012? Im more than happy Jurgen puts out a team with young lads and the first team squad players who need games. Our teams should go out to win. That's what they did and Ive no complaints whatsoever with that. On paper, arsenal looked to have the stronger team albeit with their own smattering of youth. Things were looking a bit ominous when they went 3-1 up but this young team, following their seniors vision, never gave up. Three times they had to drag themselves back into the game when they could have just folded. I was disappointed with the performances of the established players; Origi, Milner, Keita, Oxlaide Chamberlane and Lallana didnt really cover themselves in glory. Naby again went off injured. Milner sold his young keeper short, Origi looked lost etc. But a couple of goals for Origi and Ox makes things look better than maybe their performances were? I like Curtis Jones and think he's a good prospect. Brewster worries me whether he'll make it as a striker here. That might be a tough shout about the lad but a striker lives on their goal record. His pen in the shootout was calm though. Looking back through the thread, I just find it hard to believe some were so harsh in their comments. There's no 'super fan' stuff here, these are just young lads so they're going to make mistakes and errors. I loved Jurgen's post match presser. He wasnt really that arsed about it all, he was just made up for the young lads and the game they played in. I loved it that he's also already called out the Football League about scheduling the next round. The comment about 'not Christmas Day at 3.20am' cracked me up. Doesnt stop the nobs saying take one team to Doha and let the other play back home in December. What about the manager and all the backroom team, is he supposed to manage them both from Doha? Suggesting the assistant manager or U23 manager should take charge is also a fucking daft idea. What was it city were trumpeting recently about 'sporting integrity'?
  11. Buzz Aldrin must have been talking about everton fan's despair when he stepped out on the Moon's surface and said, magnificent desolation!
  12. Reading this thread back tomorrow should be fun! Well in lads. An error strewn game but you're young and you're already learning.
  13. Looks like that knock Naby picked up in the first half sees him injured again.
  14. Good grief. We've a bunch of kids out there and some think they should be reproducing the skills and results of the elite team. Have a word with yourselves.
  15. What's this Jim Kerr \ Simple Minds track George plays before the team comes out? Hoever is away with Holland at some Youth World Cup and not injured last I heard.
  16. Love Jurgen. Even when he did his pressers for BVB, you could not help warming to him. He's like everyone's bessie mate. And you just know despite the shit a few other clubs fans may throw at him, they'd all have him as their manager in a heartbeat. City fans may say no now but if they didnt have Guardiola, they fucking would. I'll be in bits when he does go. My big fear is he will call time here when his contract is up. Peversely, I think when he's won us at least 1 PL title, he will see his task here as complete and make it even more certain. But, when he does win us number 19 and even hopefully number 20, even if he went decided to go, he'd go with my eternal thanks and blessing. Whoever comes in after him is going to have a massive void to fill.
  17. I honestly think everton as a club are a decent outfit as regards social awareness and the like. They just havent moved with the times in a football way. They try their best to keep the club in the limelight despite being vastly overshadowed for nearly 60 years bar a few, by us. The club is I think in the position we might have been in if Moores had tried to keep running the club as he was. What makes our position so good is we even had a couple of cowboys drag us down to lower than whale shit for a few years. Ive just no time for many of their fans now. Their parochial outlook is utterly self defeating and regressive. In many other clubs' fans view, they are the 'decent scousers,' primarily because they never challenge for silverware so, arent a threat to those other fans' clubs. If they did ever start challenging again, I think this 'decent scousers' tag would soon stop.
  18. Might just be keeping faith with him seeing as he played at MK Dons? Obviously Alisson wasnt fit so they didnt want to risk Adrian then though. Could imagine Adrian being a tas disappointed if he doesnt play.
  19. The club hasnt been trumpeting £70m, the club has been quiet on how much the actual deal is worth other than they were looking for a bigger deal than they had. It is only the media outlets like the Echo etc saying the deal was 70m, worth more than united's deal etc, etc. Then it was only when disclosed in the court papers that the deal was for a £30m base payment with 20% bonus add ons.
