  1. Bayern v Dortmund coming up on BT Sport. And it's live!
  2. It is some feat to win 6 on the bounce but I dont think anyone should get excited about chelsea. That 6 game winning streak is similar to when solskjaer took over at united and won his first 9. chelsea have played brighton, southampton, burnley, newcastle, watford and now palace in those 6 games. The useless sperm of gollum outfoxed them in the league 4-0. They drew against sheffield united at home and beat wolves away when their form had them down the bottom of the league. I still maintain Lampard is tactically no better than gollum's sperm but let's wait until they start playing some better sides in the league than the usual cannon fodder.
  3. I didnt know this and it's a fair bet very few others do not either. It's a shame the club didnt put this out as mitigating circumstances but again, I guess it would have got lost in the hubris and be seen as trying to shift the blame. I think we are more than capable of winning tomorrow. Some may say it's the best time to play them given their injuries to key players. But yes, Id take a draw tomorrow. It keeps the 6 point gap. Yes, it's not 9 but it's not 3 either. Sounds daft I know but I worry if the gap is 9 points at this stage the boys thoughts might not be so focused and you just know the siren calls to field a strong team in the FA Cup and EFL if by some chance we get past Villa will grow because of it.
  4. Personally, I dont think he'll play. Slaphead would look a right tit if he did make a miraculous recovery for Sunday. I know some say the sperm of gollum said de gea wasnt fit but played against us. Only I dont recall him saying that, just all the media whores saying he wouldnt. Either way, it is immaterial. Im pretty sure Jurgen and the coaching staff will be preparing the team for if he does somehow play or their back up does instead.
  5. Or better still, just turn your back to their bus as it trundles past.
  6. Well, well, well. The city propoganda machine is in full swing. Apparently city have put it out there that they are 'concerned' their coach will be attacked on it's way to Anfield on Sunday. This story will be in the printed edition of the daily express sport. This is from Guardian on line. Manchester City have sought assurances from Liverpool of a safe passage to Anfield for the potentially pivotal title match on Sunday, with the champions flagging up a social media post asking fans of the Merseyside club to line the potential route of City’s team coach. City are concerned the coach could be attacked by Liverpool fans as it was in April 2018 before the Champions League quarter-final when bottles, cans and flares were thrown. Although no players or staff were injured, the vehicle was left unsafe to drive. Can Liverpool v Manchester City be accepted as England’s biggest game? Read more While the clubs are in constant dialogue in the buildup to the game – as is normal practice – it is understood the problem has been raised at executive level by City. They expect it to be taken seriously and want a guarantee from Liverpool there will be no repeat of the scenes of 18 months ago. The post in question, headlined Liverpool vs Manchester City, asks supporters to “bring your pyro[technics], pints, flags and banners” and “line the streets all the way up Anfield Road and to the ground”. A similar message was also in circulation before last season’s corresponding league fixture, the 0-0 draw in October, and there was no trouble. City, though, are wary. They are intent on not revealing their route to the stadium, with Liverpool and the police also keeping the information private. Facebook Twitter Pinterest A social media post doing the rounds urges Liverpool supporters to line the streets around Anfield. Photograph: No Credit Merseyside police are not expecting any specific trouble on the day, though this could change as the fixture moves closer. City were left bemused when no arrests were made over the bus attack at the Champions League match, which Liverpool won 3-0. Pep Guardiola needs Champions League win with City to join all-time greats Eni Aluko Read more Pep Guardiola’s team are six points behind Liverpool in the Premier League and are conscious defeat would leave their hopes of a third consecutive title remote. Yet Fernandinho believes they can reverse recent history and end a run of 16 years without a win at Anfield, their last victory coming in May 2003, a 2-1 win in which Nicolas Anelka scored both their goals. The Brazilian said: “There’s always a first time in the life, no? We are searching for this first time to win [in a long time] at Anfield. I am confident we can go there and try to win the game. “The mentality is always try to win the game. Of course, we will see with Ederson’s situation. We are going to train and the medical staff are going to check him and we are going to see if he will be fit.” City are hopeful Ederson will recover in time from the thigh muscle injury that caused him to be replaced at half-time of the 1-1 draw with Atalanta at San Siro on Wednesday. His replacement, Claudio Bravo, was sent off nine minutes from time, forcing Kyle Walker into an action as an emergency goalkeeper.
  7. Id love Liverpool to be crowned World Champions even if it is a poxy 'little' competition. We'd have taken the title on if we'd have ever managed it in those one off games in Tokyo. But 30 fucking years without a league title hurts like fuck especially when you used to stand on The Kop during the 60's, 70's and 80's and saw the team winning them. I honestly cannot describe the pain Ive felt seeing united, chelsea, arsenal and now manchester city winning it regularly while we have missed out. By my reckoning, we should have won it 4 times if we'd been a little bit better or, the footballing gods hadnt shit on us. We've paid our pennance as far as Im concerned. I want the league title and Id gladly give up the World title, Champions League, FA Cup and EFL Cup. Sure, Id love to retain the CL as much as anyone but the biggest danger to me is any one of those other competitions may make number 19 one game too far away.
  8. I think Ox will be in from the start. Gini played the whole of the Genk game.
  9. Oxlade Chamberlane from openplay is our most potent goalscoring midfielder. His eye for goal is better than Gini's or Naby. His goal and performance last night will give Jurgen something to think about for Sunday. If Jurgen is going to 'go for it' on Sunday, Id suggest Ox gets the nod.
  10. Well, Im not sure exactly how much Guardiola has spent since he's been at city. Call it £500m? Even ignoring the fact they'd already been champions a couple of times before he arrived and therefore had had tons of money spent on them, you'd expect them to be better than good as an absolute minimum.
  11. Weird goings on at Napoli! Napoli are set to take legal action against their own players as the row over their training retreat boycott escalated further on Wednesday. The club's players and manager Carlo Ancelotti are in a furious stand-off with chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis which is threatening to engulf their season Gazzetta dello Sport reported today that the chairman is now in talks with his lawyers about terminating Ancelotti's contract with immediate effect. Ancelotti skipped his post-match media duties after Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Red Bull Salzburg in the Champions League, before mutinous players took matters into their own hands following a fractious build-up to the game. Napoli are set to take legal action against their own players as a behind the scenes row grows Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti could face the sack and has been linked with Boca Juniors The row began on Monday, following Saturday's 2-1 defeat by Roma. De Laurentiis ordered a 'ritiro' - where a team is confined to a hotel or sometimes its own training base - to begin after the Champions League match and last until their next Serie A game against Genoa on Saturday evening. The 'ritiro' is a standard response to poor performances at Italian clubs although critics say it is outdated and makes highly-paid professional players look like misbehaving school children. Ancelotti disagreed with the decision but initially said he accepted it. De Laurentiis told Naples-based Radio Kiss Kiss that his decision was not meant as a punishment. 'It's a chance for the team to get to know each other better,' he said. After the Salzburg draw, a reluctant Ancelotti is understood to have travelled to the Castel Volturno training base on the team bus. But he was not joined by his players, who instead returned to their own homes and contacted lawyers in anticipation of disciplinary action by the club. This has infuriated the Napoli hierarchy, which released a statement on Wednesday afternoon saying: 'The club announces that, with reference to the behaviour of the players yesterday, Tuesday November 5 2019, it will proceed to protect its rights on an economic, capital, image and disciplinary levels in every competent jurisdiction. 'It is also made clear that the responsibility to decide on ordering days in a training retreat lies with coach Carlo Ancelotti. 'A press silence has been ordered from now until a date yet to be decided.' Ancelotti has previously indicated that he was against the idea of a training retreat, but the club's statement puts the responsibility for it on his shoulders. Both Ancelotti and the players were put out after orders from Aurelio De Laurentiis (left) He has also been linked with a move to Boca Juniors in the Italian press. Former Tottenham striker Fernando Llorente, who was also required to speak to the media, also failed to turn up for those duties. UEFA will now fine Napoli for failing to fulfil their obligations. Discontent has been bubbling under the surface at Napoli this season, with the club sitting seventh in Serie A after a run which has seen them win just one of their last five league matches.
  12. This game is either going to be a classic or damp squib depending on how both teams approach it. Im expecting Guardiola to approach it pretty much the same as last year and not try and go toe to toe. That said, he's not in as good a position as he was when the two teams meet in this fixture last year (or is memory deceiving me?) Similarly, it will be interesting to see if Jurgen goes for a little more cautious approach or takes the game to them. I dont know how you play in half measures. We are a lot more resilient than we were even last year. Some of the sparkle is not as bright as it was, neither do I think we've really hit peak performance this season.
  13. A win, top of the group, 3 points, no injuries. Cannot really ask for more on the eve of a massive league game.
  14. Disappointing half. It's like a training game. No pace or urgency, little concentration and poor finishing. Both Mo and Origi should have scored with those clear chances they had. Milner having a bit of a mare.
  15. Makes you wonder if the club will keep them in Doha for a warm weather training stint then literally just fly back before the Leicester game? It would only happen in England where the football authorities would screw up the reigning European Champions, going for the World Club title and domestic title. Spain, Germany, Italy would all suspend the relevant league games for 'their' club but England? Nah, let's screw them in a domestic cup competition, make it harder for them to win the World Club title and make the bastards play a competitive league fixture 2 days after they get back. Fucking bunch of cunts.
  16. Not going to give the players time to get acclimatised to the local conditions in Doha though. Id be majorly surprised if the club did this.
  17. 1 player really isnt going to make a difference. Squad sizes and non home grown numbers are all limited. If push comes to shove, Jurgen must field an entire U23 side in the league cup from now to whenever we go out. Same for the FA Cup. Spread ourselves too thinly and we'll end up with nothing.
  18. An offensive tweet posted after the Everton and Tottenham match is being investigated by police. A Merseyside Police spokesman said the force received a report of the Twitter post following the match on Sunday. The spokesman said: 'Merseyside Police will not tolerate hate crime in any form and is working to identify and bring to justice anyone found responsible for committing a hate crime.' The Liverpool Echo reported that the post used racist language to describe Tottenham player Son Heung-min. The South Korean player was sent off during the match at Goodison Park after a challenge on Everton midfielder Andre Gomes. Gomes, 26, has since undergone surgery on a fracture dislocation to his right ankle. They've got form for this, I'll give them that. Probably der redshite again.
  19. Dear lord, city fans thinking guardiola is in Jurgen's head over the Mane comments! Yeah, like guardiola was soooooo much in Jurgen's head pep was the one to mention one of our players in a post match interview of their game. If anyone is in anyone's head, Id say Sadio is kicking a fucking big yellow Nike ball around in guardiola's mind.
