  1. Im amazed GMPs finest just let's the rump of the home support stay in the stadium and taunt the mancs like that instead of ushering them out.
  2. You cannot have an Agueroooooo! title winning defining moment when a team wins the league by a mile. Or maybe you can? Who cares, bring on the party! 'We're gonna win the league!'
  3. https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/announcements/384696-bronze-statue-unveiled-at-anfield-to-celebrate-bob-paisley-legacy A bronze statue was unveiled at Anfield today to celebrate the life and legacy of Liverpool FC's most successful manager, Bob Paisley. The sculpture was commissioned and donated by the club’s main sponsor, Standard Chartered, in celebration of its 10-year relationship with the Reds, and in honour of its recent work educating younger supporters on Paisley’s greatness through state-of-the-art technology. The statue immortalises one of the most iconic images of Paisley, carrying the injured Emlyn Hughes off the pitch. Standing at eight feet tall, the tribute has been designed to sit at the right height to enable supporters to take their picture with the statue while visiting Paisley Square. Members of Paisley’s family, along with Emma Lynn Hughes - the daughter of former Reds captain Hughes - and LFC chief executive Peter Moore, unveiled the sculpture at Anfield ahead of the clash with Southampton on Saturday. Pupils from Anfield’s Four Oaks Primary School, which is just a short distance away from the stadium, were also in attendance to treat guests to a rendition of the club’s famous anthem, You’ll Never Walk Alone. Paisley spent almost 50 years at LFC in many roles, most notably as manager from 1974 to 1983 - a spell in which he led the Reds to 19 trophies, including six league titles and three European Cups. The club and the Paisley family worked closely with local and well-known sculptor Andy Edwards to create the statue to celebrate Paisley’s contribution to the club and the long-lasting legacy he left behind. LFC CEO Moore said: “Bob Paisley is one of the most successful English football managers of all time and led his team to greatness time and time again. “His contribution and commitment to Liverpool FC plays a huge part in the tremendous history of this football club, so it felt like a fitting tribute to his legacy to unveil our statue on Paisley Square at Anfield.” Paisley’s son, Graham, said: “It’s been a very moving process to be a part of and to see the statue from its original design to the physical structure we can now see here at Anfield. We’re incredibly grateful for this tribute to dad’s life, and the whole family is really happy with the result.” Emma Sheller, global head brand and marketing at Standard Chartered Bank, said: “We are honoured to commission and donate this wonderful statue to the club’s most successful manager. This tribute will ensure fans who visit Anfield gain a greater understanding of his huge achievements at the club.” God bless Bob, Bill, Joe, Ronnie and Rueben.
  4. Was an absolutely exquisite pass by Mo with the outside of his boot. Ox made a great run and held off the west ham player who seemed to bounce off him. Well made up he put it in the back of the net.
  5. Guardiola: I want to get 100 points in the league - pressure on players. Jurgen; I havent a points total in mind - no pressure on players. I know which manager Id take every time and it's not Pep!
  6. Surely he's crossed the line with this stuff and the FA should be slapping a charge of bringing the game into disrepute? I wont hold my breath though. In other news, Accrington lost 2-0 at home last night.
  7. The lad needs to admit to himself he has a drink problem.
  8. I miss the old chants we used to sing on the Kop. Songs like "You're going home in a St Johns ambulance," "Those were the days my friend, we took the stretford end, we took the shed and north bank highbury," "We love you, Liverpool, we do!" and "Who the fucking hell are you?" Id love to see us play a game in our old red shirts, white shorts, white socks with red tops. Just once in a league game would be ace. Makes me go all dewy eyed at the thought.
  9. Oh dear, it seems the both manc clubs' mask of, ahem, decency is slipping. united fans being called out for sickening chants about woodward (funny the same chant about scousers has been ignored by the papers for years) and now this. Pep Guardiola and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer condemned fans who made aeroplane gestures and threw seats during Wednesday's Manchester derby. A social media post showed fans in the Manchester City section making gestures referring to the 1958 Munich air crash, in which 23 people died, including eight United players. After the match, fans in the United end threw seats at home supporters near by. "I don't know what happened but it is not nice," said City boss Guardiola. Manchester City, who won the Carabao Cup semi-final 3-2 on aggregate despite losing the second leg 1-0 at Etihad Stadium on Wednesday, did not comment but, as with previous cases of trouble, they will look at CCTV footage of the incidents and take the appropriate action. Away allocations were cut by almost 50% for the two legs of the semi-final after problems at previous Manchester derbies. "I have got to stand behind Pep," said United boss Solskjaer. "Football is a game we should all enjoy, spectators and the ones playing. "We want rivalry but keep it at the same level. Let's make sure we eradicate this now." Guardiola also said he was saddened at the attack by a group on the Cheshire home of executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward on Tuesday. Woodward was at Wednesday's game, before which, Solskjaer told Sky Sports that "everyone at the club is disgusted by what happened". https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51305066
  10. We're the best behaved supporters in the land. We're the best behaved supporters in the land, we're the best behaved supporters, best behaved supporters, best behaved supporters in the land. We're a right shower of bastards when we lose. We're a right shower of bastards when we lose. We're a right shower of bastards, right shower of bastards, we're a right shower of bastards when we lose. Yes we are!
  11. Calm down? Mate, we're going to win the title for the first time in a generation. And if that isnt enough, we have a great team and manager. We've dropped 2 points in 24 fucking games this campaign. We've not been beaten in 41 league games. We're managing games, we're calm at the back. We have great players. We might create a points record and we might go unbeaten although I think we will lose when Jurgen targets the CL. And then people say we were almost mediocre and other stuff. It's bizarre, I tell you, bizarre. Enjoy the ride because at the end of the season, it counts for nothing, just like Ronnie and Joe used to say.
  12. Fuck me, it's a good job some of you never watched our 60's, 70's and 80's teams win titles then. You'd have been disappointed with some games.
  13. I really cannot believe any sane person thinks we were mediocre. Surreal times, I guess.
  14. Cant wait to get to Anfield on Saturday. The ground's going to be rocking!
  15. We're gonna be unbearable, we're gonna be unbearable, And now you're gonna believe us, we're gonna win the league!
  16. Just enjoy it mate, we've waited 30 years for this.Dont look for the faults cos you'll find them if you look for them. That's all I'll say.
  17. Haha, I love your pessimism. You do know our great sides of 78 and 87-89 used to stroll around with the ball, making the oppos run like fuck, do enough to win the game then shut up shop for the last 20 minutes? It beats me the idea that the team has to win 6 or 7 nil every game before some say 'well done' to the boys instead of picking holes in the performance. But, each to their own.
  18. Cant belive some of the comments. We were well in control of the game. Kept possession, ran west ham ragged and out of steam. Everyone wanting Ox off and he nets the 2nd. Should have been a couple more, Mo unlucky hitting the post, their best chance was Trent slapping it against our post. Great save by Alisson, Fab getting some distance in his legs. Gini really should have looked to shoot a couple of times late on in good positions. Now for Southampton at Anfield. Good to hear the travelling fans 'We're gonna win the league!' bellowing out around the stadium. And you know what, we are!? Oh and thanks to Stig for those naughty website links!
  19. Players out, here we go. Keep it tight reds. No silly mistakes.
  20. Yeah, it's called retaining possession and making the oppos run to either try and intercept the ball across the back line or run and cut off options for any forward pass.
  21. What!? Final third I tend to agree the rest, nah, sorry.
