I doubt Henderson is going to start, he has a minor injury but that will still affect his fitness. For his amount running, any drop in fitness level is critical to his game play. However with Lucas / Allen / Alberto(will he?) starting, he should be subbing for Lucas or Alberto depends on score if he is fit enough for the bench.

Then where does Sturridge plays in this formation. Unless you are taking about next season with Suarez sold then it is possible.

Alberto definitely will get his share of chance now. Maybe 3-4-1-2 again, since only 2 central midfielders are needed in this formation. But then again, there is still the need to rotate.

To be honest, Allen didn't boss Diame, it is the whole Liverpool midfield bossing the even midfield of west ham. He is not small for a human, but he does look small when most central defenders are around 1.9m

It is petty amusing that we haven't tried out 4-4-1-1 yet, i thought it was the formation after Sturridge is out. And yes, the back four should be passing to the central midfield players more, instead of CB -> FB -> winger trying to dribble past 3 players then loss the ball. Everyone in the whole world who knows what a football is, know Gerrard is able to attack better than Henderson.But still Henderson is positioned further forward than Gerrard. The only logical explanation i can get from this is that BR favours a player's ability to track back more than his attacking threat..

Of course i wish he is playing as no.10 but currently he is stuck on the left with limited freedom to take the ball central. Maybe we has some slight different opinion on how much freedom a no.10 should have, but i feel Coutinho deserve Suarez amount of freedom.

I am afraid they will just become Allen. When we based Allen on his Swansea performance, he would improve the midfield drastically. But look what is he doing now. On the other hand, Allen deserve more chance to prove himself and by chance i mean starting games, not random 10mins here and there

I can totally understand why BR choose to play Henderson at the tip of the midfield, he is the only one with the ability to run box to box in the team. By playing Gerrard there, the team is almost defending with 1 less man and with our current defensive record, I don't think BR wants to try that. In order for Gerrard to be further forward. Henderson has to do a much better job at intercepting pass and covering the defence along with Lucas, to allow Gerrard less defensive duty. But to be honest, neither of them is doing it well,

This topic is getting old and naggy. We just need a younger Gerrard, might not be as good as him but definitely more running. The only combination we are yet to try out is, Lucas/Henderson/Allen. I would treat it as a last roll before January window.
