  1. Or he's watched this video on repeat?
  2. Matt le T is on one again. I know the Tories are to blame for many things but even I wouldn't think of blaming them for the nice weather when we were in lockdown. Not saying heading a football causes dementia but at the same time Joey Barton seems to think he can sue someone for the crime of looking at him funny. In the old days the above upon retirement the likes of Joey and Matt would buy a guest house in Blackpool or a pub in Essex then get caught trying to burn it down to claim the insurance after a particularly bad season gambling on the horse racing.
  3. Gordon Brown, once again having a little dig at current Labour Policy. Front page of the Guardian. He needs to be careful, if he keeps stating left wing ideas he'll find himself being slaughtered in every political thread. Can't have lefty ideas. Might even gain himself a new thread, the Trotsky terror. In seriousness, sticking to the content instead of derailing with jibes on personale, he's right. He's 100% right. Edit, on the same subjects, on sure start and helping poor people, as someone mentioned John McDonnell He's right as well.
  4. I'll give you a point for shoehorning Owen Jones into another post. Half a point for McDonnell. I'll have to take half a point back unfortunately as you forgot to mention the jam man of Islington. As for disingenuous. This was Labours number 1 pledge not so long ago Some people have been consistent. Others have not. As you know the pledge below is hardly a new policy for the Labour Party.
  5. Then blame the messenger for not getting the message through. We can't let that stop us, it's our turn to frame things. The Tories are discredited. Yet people seem to still be bending over backwards to protect extreme wealth. Why? A. Labour are almost certain to win the next election. B. The could bring in a fairer tax system if they desired. Nothing is stopping them. It's a political choice they are choosing not to take which would not only be popular but would transform the country for the better within one term. Tatchell is right That money could deliver a fully funded up to date health service, fix our schools and transport system and eradicate child poverty. All within one term. The results would sprout fruit for decades to come. Plus the guarenteed increased growth would put billions into the treasury for years to come for future investments. It would totally transform the country. As put in a link a few posts up Even three quarters of the wealthy understand it needs to be done.
  6. He's right. He's also right to stop the charade of trying to put everyone in the same tax bracket. https://x.com/BBCPolitics/status/1766785632716685347
  7. What the Tories say is pretty irrelevant at this juncture. The John Curtice appraisal of them is damning. As the BBC interviewer points out on ths bbc this morning it's the wealthy we need to be looking at. Reeves has been adamant where she stands on the rich and the wealthy and its the wrong policy for the country. Sometimes we've just got to stand up to doing the right thing. The rich have had it easy for over a decade. Time they paid a bit more.
  8. ^ three out of four. Anyway it wasn't Corbyns policies which were unpopular.
  9. You can't lump everyone in one category but the ones which are not happy should not be this country's major concern, others with more pressing concerns are more worthy. Anyway if some are not happy, tough.
  10. Do you honestly believe this country having a fairer taxation system and asking the super rich to pay a fair share in tax is unpopular? Its not even unpopular with the super rich.
  11. Meanwhile Rachel is doing the rounds on breakfast tv. She always cheers me up and makes me feel a little more hopeful for the future. Must be her sunny disposition. Reminiscing back to when economic justice was number 1 in the imaginary hit parade.
  12. https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20230613-uk-labours-major-donor-is-israel-lobbyist-who-profited-from-south-african-apartheid/?s=09
  13. Streetings wrote an article in todays Scum about the NHS. I haven't read it and I'm obviously not going to link it but the reaction has not gone down well at all. From the quotes he sounds as arrogant as ever. I'm sure he'll receive no personal reward off these private contacts, hmm. Julia Patterson talking to Naga Munchetty. Seddon pulls no punches. Good summing up on privatisation in the NHS by the Doctor on GMB Amir Khana few months ago Bottom clip.
  14. I'm sure their are. I'm not going to stick my neck out for Labour being whiter than white just yet though. A few are already showing potential.
  15. I wouldn't be sure about that tbh. Although I agree with your sentiment. Some still complain about the platform or broadcast of what limited information we are allowed to witness. Today, again, the press have been denied access. What do the Israelis not want the world to see?
  16. Both domestic and foreign policies are very similar though, as are fiscal spending plans. As are taxation policy. Hence the observations. Its a low bar if the major improvement we're expected to be content with is Labour being better than tories on behavioural issues.
  17. Hospitals are protected even in war by the Geneva Convention. Some of the stories coming out about the events both inside and outside this hospital are gruesome beyond belief.
  18. Tory donors the Bamford brothers alleged tax amount owed to the treasury. £500 million https://www.cityam.com/jcbs-bamford-brothers-could-owe-as-much-as-500m-in-hmrc-probe-reports/?s=09 Money allegedly owed by Angela Rayner for Capitol gains tax.. £1500. Fifteen hundred quid. Dan Hodges seems to think he's uncovered the fraud of the century.
  19. Good looking Jewish lady nails it imo half way through. The interviewers not the sharpest tool in box, he gets given an answer then asks the same question again but with different phrasing. On a separate note, we'll done Great Ormand Street hospital for refusing to be bowed.
  20. Well she's been mentioned quite a few times lately. Want the links again?
  21. Seeing them ambulances destroyed by Israeli forces and remembering the story of another ambulance that was blocked by Israel in January. The ambulance that tried in vain to save the life of little Hind Rajab. Meanwhile..
  22. Dead 11 years ago today. I expect our political luvvies will be on the media throwing whitewash everywhere. Love him or loathe him, Galloway gives her a perfectly worded tribute here, it's the correct way she should remembered
