  1. It is unreal - their wage bill at last set of accounts was 85% of their turnover. 188m turnover and spent 160m on wages. Fuck knows how they are spending what they are.
  2. Oh yeah course agree....but i think Gazzaniga may be better than Adrian and at the very least won't undermine the defence in front of him in same way/to same extent. Has to be worth a go.
  3. Bitters lash out another 30m on Ben Godfrey. Unreal spending given their finances.
  4. The no crowd thing is an interesting one - would be interesting to really hear players thoughts about it in terms of whole game and everything around it.
  5. Sadly given the cover i fear you are right. Think we need to hope that we can stay within striking distance of the top and then kick on when Alisson is back. Our rivals look ropey as well luckily and i don't think this is going to be a season where a stupidly high pts total takes title like recent years. High 80's will IMO see a team right there in it. I know it is very tough but would like us to see if can get a keeper today - Gazzaniga is arguably 3rd choice at Spurs right now, worth a punt?? Not the Klopp way anyway IMO so very much doubt we will.
  6. Let's hope so.....i think as much as we'd all hate a loss and one at a team like them especially given how good we have been last two seasons, we'd all probably take it a bit better and shake it off easier whilst still spewing it if it was 2 or even 3-0 for example. It just feels surreal to let in 7 - something probably none of us can remember before. 2 bastards weeks to stew as well!
  7. Ok - fair do's I remember the dicking they got at Southampton and the grey kit lark. Reason i thought you were talking about different games and dead rubbers was because you got Soton score wrong, it was 6-3 not 5-2...but yeah they lost had lost 5-0 to Newcastle previous week. Still does not change how rare/incredibly jarring such a result as yesterday is...our own worst result for 57 years and first time reigning champions conceded 7 for 67 years - quite incredible.
  8. Jota played on left for Wolves mostly. Maybe him on left, Salah in middle and Mane back to the right?
  9. Would Gazzaniga from Spurs be an option....they have just signed Hart - so Lloris, Hart and Gazzaniga leaves him potentially in cold. He is youngish at 28, has PL experience, has been willing to play 2nd fiddle at Spurs.
  10. It is part of trying to squeeze teams and impose ourselves on them. The problem is it needs us to be red hot in our pressing and covering in front of it and then the defenders themselves to be switched on 100%. When like today the midfield is invisible it exposes our defensive line and the space behind it is vulnerable.
  11. Yeah can't see Klopp going after a keeper it just isn't his way, he'll back Adrian - just hope he gets through next 6 weeks with as little damage as possible done. A defeat is irritating when so used to winning, a defeat of this nature is a real stunner....just wish didn't have to wait 2 fucking weeks for chance to wash it away. Wanna see us tear into the shite in two weeks!
  12. Think counting dead rubbers is pushing it a touch....i am sure there are odd examples of course, but fact is today is not far off unprecedented stuff....it's just mad!
  13. Not suggesting it might, but fact it has happened is extremely worrying - it just does not happen does it! Even we very, very rarely manage to do it to teams - a 3-0 ala Watford last season or 5 against a top side like City when down to 10 are of course tough to take, but can shake them off as 'bad days' this is unreal and is a proper shaker. Of course though as already said these players have loads of credit bank and have shown they are champions, trust them and Klopp to bounce back.
  14. On whether the injured Alisson Becker will be back for the Everton game… No chance to play against Everton. We don’t know exactly. Let me say, it could have been worse with that injury, that’s for sure. We were slightly lucky but it’s not that he can play against Everton. I don’t want to put a timeframe on it but four weeks could be possible, six weeks is maybe more likely, but I don’t know. We have to assess this thing, that’s how it is.
  15. No need for that. A 7-2 dicking is not an acceptable occurence, it is extremely rare even for teams who are shite...therefore what we have seen today should be very concerning, teams just don't ship 7....good teams certainly don't....champion teams - it must be unheard of. It's a result of massive, massive shock value However as i said i trust us to put it right, but lets not play this down.
  16. I suppose if he just belts it then it upsets how we want to play...chances are that our front 3 aren't gonna win too many headers from a belted ball by keeper and risk is it comes straight back at us. But on other hand maybe that is better than risking what saw today and other times with him. Agree it is a difficult one.
  17. Sort of get a lot of that, but it is the sheer scale of the defeat today that leaves deep worries for me....how many times for example in PL history has a team let in 7 - it is an unreal dicking. It wasn't like getting dicked 5 away at Man City with 10 men, this is up there with the worst beatings any team has suffered in the league and that is not so easy to just put down to a 'bad day at the office' - this is on another level....this is the champions losing in a humiliating fashion to a team who will struggle to finish top half. It isn't Watford last season (as bad as that was) it isn't even that shite day at Hull with Bogdan a few years ago....it is much, much worse than that - it is even worse than the capitulation at Stoke - that was a totally dead rubber. I can for example only recall us scoring 7 maybe once in league in last 30 years (Soton at home) since the 9 v Palace that is how rare scoring 7 is....I honestly can't remember in 40 years plus of supporting us letting in 7 - that is the magnitude of this. All that said though this side have been incredible for last 2 years and have a lot of credit in bank, so as bad as this is and as much as it hurts we should believe they will be desperate to and are able to put this right - Klopp will hopefully identify what is wrong, he will hopefully sort out one or two attitudes/issues with being too casual/switched off and we'll bounce back. I do think we have some very hard work to do and some soul searching - i trust us to get it right, but today this feels bad.
  18. Fair mostly, but surely nothing wrong with trying to get better back up for Alisson though is there? Adrian is awful with his feet for starters and that is a massive problem for a keeper in our team. There must be better more suitable back up warming a bench somewhere who will come and warm bench for the champions and maybe push Alisson or at least offer better cover when he is out.
  19. A wheelie bin TAA Fabinho VVD Robertson Thiago Henderson Wijnaldum Salah Mane Jota I have a feeling covid/testing/travelling is gonna fuck with this game badly.
  20. Suppose that depends on that first goal which was inexcusable. Don't get me wrong Villa had started much better - but without that laughable leg up it is not unreasonable to suggest what followed may have not followed All speculation anyway, fact is it did happen and it's shite - but this group of players can be forgiven (as humiliating and almost unreal as this result is) given all they have achieved and let's see how they react. Just wish we didn't have to wait two weeks and it come off back of a fucked up international break which i think is gonna be a covid nightmare and with an early kick off! But we will see.
  21. There must be a half decent keeper available on a free or warming bench at another club who would warm ours for more money.
