1. So that love in lasted all of what, 69/70 mins? I'd rather give Morgan, Sterling, Assaidi or even this new kid Yesil the chance given they are seen as part of our future and they can all play in the front three.
2. So because we didn't get Dempsey or Sturridge for reasons in Dempsey's case no one knows yet they're Hicks and Gillet now? I'll reserve judgement on that until I hear from a reliable source that Liverpool refused to pay money for a striker/forward that we wanted.
3. So again Carroll isn't the answer as in a game where Fulham don't look like they got off the coach Carroll is still yet to score but everyone else it seems has.
4. So everytime the ball is in the air, he's useful but you can't realise why he wasn't useful to us? Watch how many times we put the ball in the air, specifically Joe Allen (the epitome of what Rodger's wants) and then you will understand better. Would Andy Carroll be of much use to Barca or Atletico who play with the ball on the deck first and foremost and very rarely if ever hoof it from the back? They are the sides we are trying to emulate in their style and Andy Carroll wouldn't get a game for either of them, even off the bench.
5. Again spot on. They're a team that need a different option as they can't get the ball on the deck and play as they don't have the talent required. Let's hope that continues and they can only see hoofing it up to the man they will gladly pay 18.5m for is to remain their game plan and let's hope we continue to realise that keeping possession of the football while moving teams about looking for spaces to exploit is a much better way of doing things!
6. Borini first goal it is then. If you're smart you'll throw a few quid on this and laugh at what passes for fans of this club thesedays.
7. Spot on. Fat Same has built his team around Andy and no one will be more important to them now. Would I rather play like West Ham and fit Carroll in or play like we are now and look for the next Falcao? Hmmm. Not a tough one really.
8. For anyone who thinks that slagging FSG isn't over reacting, Code just negged me with the message "fuck off inbred". If nothing else that's a FUCKING WOOL negging a proper scouser so we can stop with this idea that if you disagree with this thread you're a wool. As for you code: Shove this right up your Scandinavian hoop.
9. Good, we want him to do well so people want to buy him! In other news, can we stop the Fulham love in now and realise they just had a decent start to the season?
10. Oh if that's the case I'll burn Fenway down myself but it clearly isn't and for exactly the reason you stated. 1 million extra is nothing to them and they would have made it back in shirt sales, goals and if they are so dastardly being able to not back Rodgers next time out citing that as an example. I just don't believe for a second that FSG risked our whole season for the sake of 1m, I like to challenge things I read with informed opinion rather than head straight for my pitch fork, I'm strange like that.
11. Rodgers identified two targets for his front three, Sturridge and Dempsey. Dempsey was determined to come here but Fulham were equally determined not to sell him to us. Sturridge was in France and wasn't available to any team on transfer deadline day. Show me another striker/forward that Rodgers made a bid or even serious enquiry for that he didn't get and then I'll believe it's down to the owners not fronting up some chicken feed.
12. Because Fulham didn't want him to come to us and clearly wanted to fuck us and him over to send a message? Seems more than plausible to me. Don't you wonder why the deal happened so late on? Rodgers apparently went home after training last night. Anfield was locked up and no reports of any kind of any sniff of a player happened for the first time, what ever? Doesn't add up to me unless of course Fulham told us to go fuck ourselves and we knowing that Sturridge was in France decided that we weren't going to panic buy given two players that were actual real targets weren't coming here.
13. He's got a group he wants but he didn't get Dempsey who he wanted (not because FSG didn't fund him but because Fulham clearly made it personal hence why the deal happened so late as they probably said with an hour and half "Spurs or nothing take it or leave it" and Sturridge on loan because Chelsea didn't get Schurrle but that doesn't sell papers does it?
14. Nah it's FSG's fault for sanctioning about 100m on shite that he wanted ... fucking yanks! Kenny is not to blame for anything.
15. You honestly think given how much money he brought back into the club that they refused to give him an extra 1 mill? It's no wonder that papers will print any old shite when people continue to believe it. Rodgers certainly seems like the kind of person that would stay on the phone all night pleading with his board for a few quid and FSG haven't made any kind of allowances for him to get him on board.
16. Brendan Rodgers is doing a fantastic job and the reason why? Because the TLA (three letter acronym) that seems to be the scapegoat for everything on here have hired him, backed him and believe in him. For all those people having a pop at TLA, maybe you should question your own support/motives before you start laying in to the owners of this club that saved us from a truly unthinkable future. With that out of the way let's look at the facts. For years we've all lambasted our team for not bringing through young talent right? Well Raheem Sterling IS that talent we've been waiting for. Why has he improved so rapidly? Well there are two reasons, one the manager he plays for and two he's got genuine belief he can make it into the starting line up. Would Sterling be setting Anfield alight if he had the collective talents of Kuyt, Maxi and Bellamy ahead of him in his position? No. Would a lot of different managers have kept those players scared to lose their "experience" and not have faith in their system and these young players? Of course they would. We sold old to rebuild for the future and bought players that fit the manager's ethos. We didn't do it just to trim the wage budget but that's a given and so we should be looking at doing that given where we are with the money we've pissed away. If TLA told Rodgers to cut the wage budget and sell before we buy then THANK FUCK FOR THAT. We have a front three that although they are struggling for goals have a very nice balance of pace, skill and awareness and they are going to cause all kinds of defences all kinds of problems and for Suarez the goals will come. Rodgers said on a number of occasions that Andy Carroll was a third choice striker and true to his word he played him exactly like that. First Suarez, second, Borini and third Carroll ... but wait Morgan is improving and the manager rewards him with the third choice role and so Carroll is even more surplus to requirements and Samed Yesil is the final nail in the coffin meaning we have 4 players who can and have played in the centre forward role so in Brendan's eyes Carroll is now fifth choice. What we've done in midfield is truly remarkable. Joe Allen is going to be a steal at 15m and that's not something you say very often. The lad has all the poise and balance of a young Xabi Alonso and he also has the intelligence as well. He may not have the same range of passing but in his own way he controls the midfield and is an absolute joy to watch. When Liverpool signed Sahin on loan with the option to buy, I couldn't smile wide enough. This player is incredible, there is literally nothing missing from his game and the idea of him being on the same pitch with Joe Allen reminds me of the days of Mascherano and Alonso and personally I already prefer Allen to Mascherano. What did we give away to get this talent? I mean it must have been some world class players by the unfortunate reaction to our transfer activity right? Oh we gave up Charlie Adam and Jay Spearing ... and that's it. Hang on let's just look over that again. We swopped Charlie Adam and Jay Spearing for Joe Allen and Nuri Sahin ... that on its own is unbelievable but no people would rather focus on some shite donkey we massively overpaid being rightly ousted from the wage bill as if it's a bad thing. Let's have a look at the defence and the keeper. We were supposed to be losing Skrtel and Agger right? Well we kept hold of them, plenty to celebrate there as well ... of course not that's not what we do these days we just see the bad in everything. Reina, how is he still here? His loyalty is remarkable and it's a pleasure to see someone so committed to a cause that has verily fucked him right over. Add in that we were meant to lose Suarez to Juve and is it really as bad as people are making out? So of any not we've swopped: Bellamy, Kuyt, Maxi and got Borini and Yesil with the emergence of Sterling and Morgan. I'd still like to have seen another forward come in but the right one and that player wasn't available so I'd rather we waited rather than doing another "Carroll". Spearing and Adam for Sahin and Allen. No matter how much I type or read that it still feels like I've won the lottery every single time. Not to mention the fact that Shelvey is actually taking his chance and playing rather well in a deep lying midfield role (the only place I believe he has any future) and Assaidi can play midfield or in a front three. Defence - We kept everyone and Reina. If you want to be miserable then I can't really stop you and here's a hint to help out, look at other people because regardless what you have you'll soon forget to appreciate it and want what they have. If you want to back the manager and the wonderful job he is doing in such a short amount of time and if you want to take a look over to Swansea and realise that Laudrup is able to do what he is doing (short term) because of what Rodgers put in place then above are just a few reasons to be optimistic. When the time comes for us to step up our search for a proven striker or a young striker with all the attributes needed to fit our system then I'll be worried if we don't go out and buy someone that we have scouted long term and who we have assigned funds for and equally if the time comes to oobuy Sahin at the end of the season and we don't I'll be apoplectic but until that time I'll exercise some cautious optimism and continue to enjoy this new and welcome brand of football and player acquisition and look forward to the next game and the next window (they do have another in 4 months you know...)
17. So just to clarify, we want to bring through young players but play the old ones in their position. We don't want Dempsey because he's a cunt but should enter into a bidding war for him and FSG shouldn't give us money because we'll waste it but should give us it cos if they don't they're just like the last set of yanks? If Kuyt Maxi and Bellamy were here you wouldn't be seeing the improvement in Sterling so make your minds up!
18. So when FSG give us money they are idiots and when they don't they are assholes. Got it now.
19. Kuyt - Ageing and wanted first team football but would never fit our new style of play. Maxi - Wanted to go home, ageing and a big wage I believe. Bellamy - Wanted to go home, will be missed the most of the players we let go and to be honest the only one that would have fit what we were doing here. Adam - Never good enough. Spearing - Championship player at best as evidenced by the sides that came in for him. Carroll - Not wanted by the manager and if we get the 18.5 we are said to be getting off West Ham then that's great news all round. Aurelio - You have to be able to stand to play football. Ecclestone - not even close to good enough. Doni - bit part and I prefered Jones anyway. Aquilani - made up to see him gone and see the end of that fucking train wreck of a deal. Darby - To be honest I thought he might have made a squad player here at least but it didn't happen, good luck to the lad in the future. Amoo - A bit surprised by this one given his recent improvement but there you go. So really what have we lost in regards to players that fit into our philosophy and team? Craig Bellamy. What have we brought in ? Nuri Sahin, Joe Allen, Fabio Borini, Oussman Aissadi and Samed Yesil. I wanted us to bring in a striker even if it was just on loan and I think we could regret not doing so but I don't think for a minute it's down to the owners. Fulham seem to have made the Dempsey saga personal and Chelsea didn't get Schurrle meaning it would be daft to loan Sturridge (to be honest I thought it was daft in the first place). The next few months will be telling and if the goals don't come from Suarez, Borini, Sterling, Morgan, et al then we will have no choice but to buy a striker in January but by then we will be in a better position to get the player we want and not just panic buy. People need to calm the fuck down, it's scary what this modern media age has done/ is doing to supposedly rational people. This era of "on demand" technology has seen a new breed of "I want it all and I want it now" football "fan" and they need to have a fucking word. Yes we did get rid of 12 players, so what? We needed to. Our whole playing style has already improved massively and so has the quality and attitude of the players we've brought in and if you give it time it will continue to do so. Don't believe me? Just watch Joe Allen, that's the man that Rodgers wants to build his side round and now take a look at Charlie Adam, that's the man Kenny was looking to build around. As far as I'm concerned we've improved in every area. Can I live with Coady and Shelvey if I don't have to see Adam or Spearing? Yeah that's fine with me.
20. Well there's the chant right there. He's got Mesut Ozil eyes.
21. I'd negotiate with Owen, tell him he can work in the make shift car park opposite where anny comp used to be. CUNT.
22. What is your take on him as a player? Seen the odd Eurosport game with him and he looks to be just what we need if he can reach his potential.
