  1. Herrera on to increase the "dirty little prick" quotient a bit.
  2. It's all kicking off. One set of twats is trying to out-twat the other set of twats.
  3. If United ultimately go out, they drop to the Europa? Come on PSG, double figures.
  4. Is that the fellow who just put one off the bar with his face giving RBL the lead? Kudos to him. I'd still be on the sidelines trying to recover. Crazy match, ends with an Leipzig victory.
  5. How can they claim to have got that correct? There's no way to say that position X on the arm is okay, but position Y isn't. What are they going by? The cuff on the jersey? They'll be playing in sleeveless jerseys next week if so.
  6. It's been a decent match--WHam take the lead early in each half and Villa try to pull back. But Villa, and Grealish in particular, are an embarassment with the constant diving.
  7. Trezeguet takes a boot to the face and they miss the penalty. Even God can't take Villa's diving.
  8. Abysmal refereeing again. Villa dive, and he blows the whistle. Unwatchable.
  9. A few of those Olympiakos players appear to be playing for City. Thankfully, they're so shit that they haven't as yet been able to gift them a goal.
  10. Murphy Bed with a bad miss. Should have killed them off there.
  11. An immovable object at one end of the pitch, an unstoppable force at the other.
  12. Before City played Leeds earlier this year they were going on about how much Guardiola admired/was inspired by Bielsa. But if Bielsa watches football for fun he must look at Klopp's team and say "that's how it's done!" Watched it live, went to work for a couple hours and came home to watch it again. Brilliant football.
  13. Pep's new contract appears to have inspired his squad to new levels of indifferent mediocrity.
  14. What is the point of putting Sterling on at this point? He's only useful if he has space, and he won't get any here.
  15. This could actually get ugly, as City are shite at the back and prone to give up if things aren't handed to them on a platter.
  16. I was about to compare City to Arsenal in Wenger's waning days--passing it around aimlessly without creating anything--but then, as others have pointed out, they're up against Mourinho's "shit-hanging-from-a-stick" football, so I have to cut them some slack.
  17. Offside Kane you dumb bastard. What a goal, otherwise.
  18. The ref's just given the match to Villa. Nauseating refereeing. I take that back, obviously. Villa deserved fuck all--and got what they deserved.
  19. Beautiful goal from Brighton to go back ahead 2-1.
  20. The Bullet and the Ballot Box: The Story of Nepal's Maoist Revolution Aditya Adhikari History of the transition in Nepal from Kingdom to Republic, a process driven by a violent Maoist insurrection which was ultimately subsumed into that republic as part of the new non-violent democratic system. Fascinating story, particularly after having read a few books about the civil war in Sri Lanka, which was similar in many ways, but had a much more destructive and scarring outcome. If someone had the languages and a decade to waste writing a book comparing and contrasting the two conflicts that only a few thousand people would read, I'd be one of them.
  21. Decent goal by Christie there. Keeper a bit asleep/unsighted? Or perhaps how shitty the footing is. Credit to Clarke, Scotland are a much better side now.
  22. RIP I watched a few matches he managed when he was in Vancouver. He also managed Canada to our only WC in '86. Struck me as a decent human being, to boot.
  23. They were lucky to survive the first onslaught, but then the formations gave them control of the mid-field, and the (surprisingly cagey) match. Fair result, I thought.
