  1. Looking on youtube Bruno Fernandes looks absolutely class. And exactly what we need.
  2. Anyone know Lewis Cook's injury status? He's definitely someone I'd like to see here in the future.
  3. I'm not seeing it with Pepe. However Jurgen and the boys know a lot more than me so if they want him that's good enough.
  4. Gomez feels to me like the perfect compliment to Van Dijk. They conceded virtually nothing in the league up to December (when we weren't actually firing on all cylinders in front of goal). Shame about the injury which may have just been bad luck aligned to that ridiculous sloping off-pitch area at Burnley. Priorities must be cover at full back and forward line. Finally maybe a midfielder who plays in between the lines. Don't think Ozil is a Klopp player though!
  5. I don't think it was you. Seem to be quite a few people - not just on this site - who think Brewster will have a big impact for us next season.
  6. What about full back cover that can play both sides? Milner could be off and at 33 I'm not convinced he'll be good cover in what are not his best positions. We need some creativity (Fekir?) and another forward player. I'm amazed people want to rely on Brewster - a 19 year old who hasn't played for 2 years. No doubt he'll get a chance, struggle for a few games and people will be wanting rid. How about some expectation management?
  7. What's the latest on Sessegnon? I feel we need another striker as well. The midfield needs tidying up too. Fab, Gini, Naby, Shaq, Ox, Hendo, Milner, Lallana, Grujic. If we assume the first 5 are going nowhere what of the other 4? At least 2 will leave you'd think. Lallana would be my first guess. If Klopp wants another midfielder in the style of Jorginho/Neves/Maddison perhaps that means it'll be 3 to go. So Sessegnon, another forward and some pruning of the midfield I reckon. Let's hope the deadwood can be shifted too (without mentioning any names).
  8. It depends how reasonable he's willing to be. It worked with Milner.
  9. There's been rumours before that Klopp likes Insigne. I don't see it though. I think we want an all round forward who can play through the middle. Insigne isn't physically suited to the premier league and despite his technical ability his numbers aren't that great. I would go for Kelly/Sessegnon Ramsey (no brainer on a free). We need to be prepared to use Shaq and Ox (who isn't back yet) in the front 3. A young potential world class forward who can play through the middle. I'd give Wilson at least half a season till January too. Woodburn probably needs another loan. We need to be mindful of our homegrown quota.
  10. I cannot fathom the Ings deal at all. From our side it looks great. We get the money we wanted and he doesn't play against us this season. Might as well have just sold him but agreed not to pay for 12 months in which time he can't play against us. There must be some kind of clause? Or maybe Edwards/Moore/whoever are just geniuses.
  11. On judging goalkeepers I think youtube may be a bit of a problem. You can get a feel for a keeper and the quality of saves he makes but a better way of judging him would be to have a look at the ones he concedes. How many could he realistically have saved/was he at fault for? Best way judge Alisson would be to look at all the goals he let in last season. If there aren't many he could realistically have stopped you know you're onto something. Secondly I would mention handling. Needless to say 'butterfingers' are not what we are looking for. Great to see a firm hand on a spectacular save but most of the time they need soft hands. Reina IMO had this even if he didn't make a lot of 'unbelievable' saves. I remember watching an Italy game and towards the end of the game the commentator describe Buffon as being immaculate. Hadn't needed to stop many shots but nonetheless impeccably tidy.
  12. Who do we expect to see leave? I'm guessing: Grujic Mignolet Origi Ings Kent Markovic Randall Chirivella In the case of Grujic I just think we have too many midfielders.
  13. Are people seriously questioning whether Bobby Charlton was a top class player? I mean really? I think Beckham was a class act at his best but not quite a word beater. He seemed to go into decline quite young 27-28.
  14. Let me throw a name out there - Federico Chiesa. All round forward player, young and Italy doesn't seem the most expensive place nowadays (granted the football has been in decline).
  15. Didn't Joe do quite well at left back when he first arrived?
  16. I can't believe Donnarumma would be available for £35m. If so I can only assume he has a few weaknesses I haven't spotted.
  17. I like Fekir but I thought he would be for the front 3? We desperately need more depth there unless Klopp has a good feeling about Woodburn/Wilson.
  18. I really like Neves from what I've seen. However my biggest worry is depth up front. Realistically could Ings/Wilson/Origi play a part next season? Could we rely on them? What do we do if Firmino is injured? I'm also quite worried at the prospect of VVD getting injured but for some reason lack of depth up top is what concerns me the most. From what I've seen of Meyer he could do a job in the front 3 even if he tends to play the playmaker role now.
  19. Can I throw in a curve ball? Jack Wilshire.
  20. I'm thinking here in pure technical terms so not necessarily ones that won games and some that might have been forgotten. Also ones that were beautifully caught by the cameras. And yes that also means goals for teams other than Liverpool. 1) Counter-attack goal against Spurs in 2003(?) Picks up the ball around halfway races past the defender and then smashes it in to the bottom corner. 2) Diving header in Champions League. The ball comes to him about 14 yards out and he dive heads it into the top corner. Love it. 3) World cup qualifier in Bulgaria I think about 2008. Casually side foots the ball in from about 25 yards! 4) Champions League game away from home about the same time. The ball was behind his feet but managed to curl it into the corner from 25 yards. 5) FA Cup tie against Luton. Love this one. Hits a shot from the right hand side of the area, looks near the goalkeeper till it swerves wickedly into the corner. Helped by the fact the camera angle couldn't have been positioned better by Steven Spielberg. 6) Half volley from 30 yards in the right wing position. Great technique into the top corner from about 2006. Again perfect camera. 7) FA Cup final vs West Ham. Nothing needs to be said. Last minute. One of the few goals that will never be forgotten. 8) Free kick at St James Park 2007. The barcodes wall seemed to be encroaching but it didn't matter as Stevie hit one from 30 yards that looked like it flew into the net. 9) Arsenal. League cup tie. In front of the Kop. Unfortunately we lost so no-one remembers it. But I think this is maybe his most under-rated. Adjusts his feet to hit a waist high half volley into the corner from the edge of the box. 10) Man United 2001. Lovely flick by Fowler followed by another shot that seemed to 'fly' into the net from 30 yards. Just thinking there must also have been plenty of 'almost' amazing goals as well that hit the post/just missed produced a brilliant save. Those moments tend to get forgotten though!
