Hope it works out for him and he can restart his career with a new team but he had his time here and it did not work out so not that big of a loss for the team. Plus to moving to Germany for Babel's music career is that even David Hasselhoff had a #1 album there.

7m Euros for Babel? Didn't we get offered 9m pounds in the summer from Birmingham? Wikipedia says we paid £4.5m for Poulsen (approx 5.4m Euros) -

+1, I think they do not want Kenny long term and probably have been advised that the squad is bad but too good to get relegated. -

Anybody know what happened with Sylvain Marveaux? -
How old is the second dog? I had a dog die after around 12 years but had another dog about 2 years younger. Having the second dog around when the first dog died helped. When that dog had to be put to sleep about two years later then it was really bad because the house felt so empty.

Articles in the Sunday papers about our current 'situation'
Beantown Red replied to Sugar Ape's topic in FF - Football Forum
It is not like he is returning to manage some new team he knows nothing about. I would think that as a former manger with a lot of experience that while he was sitting there watching the games that he was thinking about what he would do differently and probably already knows what needs to be done to try to get us back on track. -
Thanks Roy, you should have never been offered the job and I blame the people responsible for this more than I blame you.

I tend to believe this -
Because he will probably want to stay at Porto until at least next season. League title - check (if they continue to play like they have) Champions league - check (if they win title this season) Instead of coming to Liverpool where if it goes wrong he is left with his reputation bruised and a resume with no league title or champions league experience. Why would he take the risk?

I think people are giving too much weight to NESV appointing Theo Epstein as Red Sox general manager in his 20's. GM in baseball would be more like director of football, dealing with trades and players contracts. The manager they appointed was in his 40's and had something like 10-15 years of management experience. Also why would Villa Boas come here now? He will probably win the league with Porto and is in the Europa league same as us. If they win the league he will be in Champions League next season, unlike us. Why risk all that by coming here when the new owners have not shown anything remarkable yet.

From a person who lives in Boston I have always thought the link between LFC and the Red Sox was premature. It was such a long stretch (86 years) for the Red Sox that expectations were never that strong outside of the hardcore fans.
