  1. Keep betting like that son and we'll be playing CL football next season.
  2. I doubt any other supporters give a shit........unless we started a campaign?!!
  3. They need to show their own investors that they don't condone the behaviour of Suarez. It was a brief statement that gives them sufficient distance from a 'toxic' situation that could influence current and potential investors.
  4. We need a key foreign signing that will help to attract the best in Europe/Americas. Great players attract great players. The problem with overly focusing on British is the language barrier and the fact that we're mainly going to only attract other British players which narrows your market and talent pool. Gerrard -a legend, but not getting any younger. Unfortunately Suarez stock is temporarily toxic and he needs to have a long spell without controversial incident or I fear he'll move on anyway. We need another Torresesque marquee signing to take focus off Suarez and to attract the best globally. We've bought some players that I think will turn out to be good signings in the future, but a star player with ambitions to win are less likely to be attracted to sign up to play with your downings, adam, carolls etc.
  5. We can say sorry, maintain good relations with key sponsors and still 'have a pair' at the same time. Loosing sponsorship would not do the club any favours - the media frenzy would ramp up as a minimum, and it would give future sponsors a big reason to negotiate down. Before you know it Liverpool slip further down the football rich list and it becomes more difficult to make marquee signings and we continue the downward spiral into mediocrity (I'm even depressing myself here!). The club has done the best thing right now - we need to shake off the heat, get out of the spotlight and regroup. No point fighting a battle we can't win and losing the war because of it.
  6. Exactly what I thought - they've even used our apology to further twist the knife, claim every last drop of 'moral high ground' and have the last word on the issue. Fergie has blatantly orchestrated this whole thing and Kenny and LFC have been caught with pants down by someone who's played the media for 25 years. Ferguson and Shreeves could have been reading off a script in post match interview it seemed do contrived.
  7. I heard it during Rooney's interview on sky - Suarez song tune replacing his name with with "racist bastard". Definitely sounded like united's dressing room - they seemed to banging studs on the floors or walls during the chant. Could someone find the footage and start a twitter trend?
  8. Yes there is under FA rules. D. INTERNATIONAL MATCHES 1 A Player selected for an international or other representative team, tour, squad or other call- up arranged by The Association shall attend at the time and place notified to the Player and comply with the arrangements of The Association in every respect, save where there is good and sufficient cause not to do so. 2 A Club shall do all things necessary to ensure that a Player referred to in Rule D1 above complies with the arrangements of The Association. 3 Illness or injury shall constitute good and sufficient cause for the purposes of Rule D1 above by where The Association is satisfied, following receipt of medical evidence, that such illness or injury is of sufficient seriousness. The Player shall, in any event, submit to assessment by a medical adviser appointed by The Association. INTERNATIONAL AND OTHER REPRESENTATIVE MATCHES AND CALL-UPS
  9. I think during free fall you would start floating like in space, then when the lift hits the floor gravity would kick in just before you sensed your pants were messed and Henderson is boss. Next question....
  10. That made me laugh. I'd join your circle but I'm normal size caucasion male so don't think it would help.
  11. We hit the woodwork twice and the bitters only properly tested pepe once that I remember. If Kuyt's penalty goes in, or Adam's shot goes a few inches lower it's a different game in the second half. You could say we were unlucky not to be a couple up far earlier in the game. Hope we beat the mancs unconvincingly in 2 weeks time just so I can come on here and read the whining.
  12. Brilliant - I agree 2014 will definitely prove to be the worst. What a crap, negative thread that can only serve to be divisive. Unfortunately, it will probably be used by the press to put more pressure on the club. "A large section of Liverpool fans believe this summer's spending is the worst in the club's modern history. Kenny might be king, but is yet to prove it in the transfer market - the jury is out."
  13. Just watched extended highlights on sky - I know it's not the same as being at the game, but I can't understand why there's so much negativity on here. It's a new team that's not playing with confidence yet, on another day we go in 3 or 4 up at half time and the game's finished. As against Brighton we hit the woodwork a few times and their keeper makes a couple of blinders. Before someone says it, I know it's an Internet thread where people are entitled to share their views ......and I don't have to come on here to read them ....bla, bla....but seriously let's spread a bit more cheer on hear! I'd take a 2-1 battle every time (not that it seemed much of a battle today) and worry about how convincing our wins were after we've got back in to Champions League football. It wasn't long ago when we were drawing and even losing these games without creating anything and at the same time wondering if the club would go into administration. Tottenham was the only game we've played so far this season that we've deserved to lose. The rest of the games we've been on top, created lots of chances but been unlucky. It will come if we're patient and keep backing the team. Unity was always a key factor of the club's success in the 70s and 80s - the negative vibes don't help anyone.
  14. This for me, but doubt Gerrard will get on before 60.
