  1. the stadium debate concerns a lot more than just seats. A modern arena needs to generate revenue 7 days a week, and be a cornerstone in the society. If the stadium is referred to in several aspects, it also increases the potential value of a sponsorname. today the infrastructure is laughable, and there is not enough parkingspaces. Anfield is just a "shell" that generate money once the supporter has entered and queued up for some snacks. health clubs, shops, offices, training facilities, medical centres should be included. With an increase in traffic to the stadium, the public transportation will also be boosted by the govt. I simply can not fathome why the clubs in PL do not arrange "pre match parties" before the games. It would also boost the atmosphere for a lt more than the few that get into the pub. A stdium is more than a shell around a pitch. Another spect is the possible opportunities to section the stadium The mebers club on emirates is 7000. These seats generate more than entore highbury did (38 k). Same with VIp sections. It need to maximize our potential revenue, and simply adding 15 000 seats wont help anyway near as much as a properly structured new facility. As much as I would love to stay at Anfield, the modern state of football requires us to think more commercially in order to cope with the rest of the big clubs in Europe. Sad to say, but it is true.
  2. Twattes is a massive failure, Dogpoo is 34 in March, Anelka is 33 in March, and Kalou is not that good. Malouda is 31 as well. They should definately not sell Sturridge who actually is a fantastic prospect. If we can get him for Meireles plus a minor sum, Id be all for it. Think Chel$kij values the lad to >20 mill though. Although Boas may be keen to use the young Englishman, I think Abramovich is more keen on singing up some big names in his position.
  3. Ive heard that Affelay was partly regarded as a pure buy and sell for profit as he signed for a ridiculous amount (3-5 mill i think). Besides, he played 16 games last year, and he does not start. I also heard from the same source that the talks between the clubs indicated both clubs wanted the trade. We will probably know more tomorrow. Maybe dependent on Bellamys decision, and whether we can offload Cole and Poulsen.
  4. Any truth in the Affelay rumours? Heard that DCs spain trip was because of this. Spurs seem willing to offer Bellamy longer contract too. Affelay would be a fantastic siging with amazing pace.
  5. On the other video there was no comments or sound at all.. this one has. Dont know why. But thanks!
  6. How do you know it is him !? Only the players height? Pretty far from slow this lad in the video..
  7. Not only fast, but incredibly skillful. As close to Messi as you can come. If I could choose one player to sign, it would be this young man..
  8. Disrespectful and totally unecessary. Aquilani has never been favoured by any of the managers he played under for us, even when he was fit. He was arguably our best player during preseason, and offers some attacking flair we do not have in abundance. Yes, he has been injury plagued, but he is fit now. Why he wasnt involved vs Sunderland is beyond me, especially considering how the match developed. The only reason I would understand is the fear of a new injury IF we had decided to sell him this window. IMO he is our best attacking midfielder currently fit. He is a bit scared of a tackle, but he can actualy play football though. Better with someone who can control the ball, shoot, pass, score, bring other into play, and cope (and set) a high tempo. But I guess some people prefer an attacking mid to be like Cattermole or Poulsen. Anyway, that rant is plain stupid, mate.
  9. Thanx! a lot esier to "accept" that price than the various 16-20 reported. How big are the add-ons and what are they, do you know? 3, and appearance based?
  10. Difficult to believe you without a source, mate.. Wyh has all the media got it wrong then?
  11. Fist of all we cant rely on Suarez, like we did on Torres. And didnt Henderson kost 16 +addons? the mentioned 13 was if the deal included ngog i beilieve..?
  12. Several reports claims Arsenal have reched an agreement for Hazard, but wont be finalized before Udinese-Arsenal game on wed, if Arsenal reaches CL. I certainly hope this is not true. Mata and Hazard to Chelsea and Arsenal leaves a sour taste.. These players will be immense, especially Hazard. What we need is one creative, unpredictable, fast and skillful player that can create chances out of nothing. Hazard should the one. We have all seen what happens when the team has an "off-day". We have no one to bail us out. Other clubs do. Nani saved United on 10-15 occations last season. We need a Hazard. And by the way, this kid is not a youtube sensation or tricks with no end product. this kid will be immense. Not one player I would rather sign than him. 23 million is the touted sum... Slightly more than henderson...... Lets hope Udinese knocks out arsenal, and Hazard stays another season in Lille. Next year, we will pounce!
  13. Chu Young Park, please! Reportedly available for 6 mill. 16 mill and Ngog for Cahill and Park is great piece of business.
  14. Normally the injury and suspension update on the site is ok. Some sort of matchpredictor could be of help, whether it is sky or bbc. I think the deadline is 11.30 in 99% of the occations. Sometimes there are double rounds. One tip? -well, plan ahead when you trade players. Check who the opposition is. When there are postponed matches, like the Tott-Eve game, players fro these clubs will not get points for this round. They will, however get double points in that round when the postponed game is being played. Can often be very beneficial to consider this when transferring players as well. Personally, I tend to use my wildcard early, but I think this how I like to do this. (wildcard allows you to swap as many players as you want without being deducted points) I dont know how much you know here, but due to the points system, make sure to choose players that are involved in attacking moves, or are listed as defenders at clubs that does not concede a lot. Good luck.
  15. Anyone knows if we are in for the korean kid from Monaco Chu-Young Park? Monaco was relegated, and apparently he is available for 6 mill. A no brainer IMO...
  16. Iknow this is not "recommendable" among the LFC fans, but a tune that is seriously intimidating is "horto magiko". I know Panathinaikos´ fans sing it, and some in Brazil too.. I know we are not supposed to copy anyone, but I really like the sound of this one. Anyone heard it in England? Would be ace if someone made some lyrics for this.
  17. These netto numbers dont give a correct picture. They have spent 45 ish millions, and considering the state of our squad, and the fact that we have made money the last 4 windows, the owners should look at the squad and realize how appualing it is considering the wage bill. The owners can demand that we are in contention for a 3-6th, as we tend to be these days. We have brought in Downing and Adam for the 1st 11, and Downing is one for the future. If they thoughtm that 2 pleyaers would be enough (and they are not even that good), they have been more naive than a 5 year old.
  18. They have spent about 45 million on a ridiculously weak squad. One of them also a youngster for the future. It is the same amount Sunderland and Spurs spend every summer. I do not think an outlay of this would even suggest could bring our faltering squad into contention. There are 5 clubs with better squads than us. Considering the wage cost at Spurs, we are getting embarasingly little bang for our buck. We really need a CB, and an attacking threat with pace. After 6 months we appear to be depending on Suarez. I think the owners need to splash another 50 if they could "demand" a top 4 finish. I do not think they know how weak our squad really is. We probably have 15 players that are absolute rubbish and must be shifted. I just cant believe we are actively seeking to flog AA, one of few players in our squad who can actually produce something.
  19. Still though.. The pair cost almost £50 million, and now they are just being tossed. Jo signed for £20 million three years ago, he was released a couple of days ago. The spending and attitude is just insane in that club. No one gives a shit about recouping some of the money. The amortization and salary cost of Aguero alone is 15% of their total turnover. The salaries of Yaya, Silva, Aguero and Dzeko ALONE is more than the entire sponsorhip deal with Etihad. If you have read the FFPR, you know that there is a section in this, allowing Uefa to take whatever consideration they want when arguing whether or not to expell a club from CL. The big clubs will NEVER be kicked out. If you have not seen this: “The status and situation of football within the territory of the UEFA member association will be taken into account when granting an exception. This encompasses, for example: a) size of the territory, population, geography, economic background; b) size of the UEFA member association (number of clubs, number of registered players and teams, size and quality of the administration of the association, etc.) c) the level of football (professional, semi-professional or amateur clubs) d) status of football as a sport within the territory and its market potential (average attendance, TV market, sponsorship, revenue potential, etc.) e) UEFA coefficient (association and its clubs) and FIFA ranking; f) stadium ownership situation (club, city/community, etc.) within the association. g) support (financial and other) from the national, regional and local authorities, including the national sports ministry.” It has got "hypocricy" written all over it
  20. Route one still appears to be the preferred option by theback four. Ridiculous. Please get us a ballplaying CB...
  21. LFC has a significant Norwegian fanbase, but regardless of this, I hope the club choses to start the game at Hull with 1 minute silence to remember the fallen in the tragic events in Norway. Norwegians have always felt close to the British people, and a minute of silence would be a nice gesture. (Sorry for posting what many might believe is irrelevant for this match, but I can not fathom the recent events in my "neighbourhood")
  22. Robinson would an england int in 3 years. If we have limited funds, spend the cash on CB and another wing in addition to Avergae Steward. Maybe even a DM with proper bite. If I had to choose from these, itd be Cissokho. Downing and Baines would be the most one-sided, one-legged and predictable left sides in PL. Let Robinson have a go instead. Spend the 10 extra mill on getting Mata or Aguero or someone who can actually do something when we inevitably struggle to penetrate the parked bus. Cause we all know that Stewart cant do that.
  23. Oh, so cross is (the only thing) what you want from a winger... Maybe i am way off the mark here, but the traditional winger who only runs along the chalk is dead. Downing can play on the right side as well, but because he only has one leg he always moves inwards. Just like he stays wide on the left. Personally I require a modern winger to be able to run by the chalk and whip them in. But i also want them to be able to be unpredictable in all three positions behind/around the striker. I want a player who can unlock a defense because we all know we only have one man for this so far in Suarez. I want a winger who can beat a man with skills and trickery, and a player who does not need Carroll to be in the box in order to be effective. All in all a player like Mata will contribute so much more than one like Downing. In addition, the Mata deal represents a lot better value in terms of resale value and further potential to develop. Besides a winger tend to lose som of his pace towards 30. We need someone who can help us score on a parked bus. Downing does not represent this at all. He can cross -if Carroll is fit. Besides, it is not like Mata cant cross, mate! We all know Downig has an excellent cross because that is all he has. Mata has the lot, but his cross is not as visible because he is busi showing and contributing with everything else as well.
  24. Seriously... Statistics can be used any way you like them. Hazard is an amazing talent, at the age of 19 being involved in everything a sparkling Lille side created last year. At the age of 19, he represents a vastly better financial investment that oneleg-Stewart. Downing will probably be a good player for us. But for the sums being quoted and considering that f.ex Mata is better on everything except crossing and tracking back, this should be a no brainer. Downing will be effective when we are playing well and Carroll is fit. When we once again run into a parked bus and a locked defence and cant open it, we will have to rely on suarez again. Because we all know how skilled or other players are when it comes to creating spaces and chances on small areas. We need skills, flair, pace, creativity. So many are so keen on downing, rather than Mata. These are also the people who thinks England will win the next world cup.
