    First half awful, 2nd half by far better team and deserved a point. Decision making at the crucial times really. Skrtel didn't need to be cleaning out Welbeck for their 2nd, Reina was getting to the ball. Sturridge looked very lively when on, but missed a sitter for what I felt would have been a deserved equaliser. Stewart Downing needs to fuck off. Allen and Lucas will get bossed by anyone with pace and physical presence. One of them needs to be playing, with Henderson/Shelvey. Henderson looked good again when on.

    Got to be Henderson and Sturridge for Allen and Downing surely. Maybe Borini for later. We're lucky it's 1-0 really, if we continue like that we'll get a dicking.

    Doesn't bother me, but I mean I'm a little surprised that Rodgers spoke openly while being filmed about how we planned to exploit City's marking via corners, for example.

    Think it's a case of careful what you wish for here. Pepe lost motivation and his standards slipped, obviously. He put on weight. I think he's lost that weight, and shown signs he's getting back to the level he is capable of. He's 30 years old, if he wants he could play another 10 years for us. His distribution is so good, we take it for granted and its perfect for how we play. You look at the problems most of the top sides have with their keepers, replacing him could be a big mistake in my opinion. The thing that worries me is his high wages..I think FSG would love to move him on and replace him with a young keeper on a third of his wages. But at his best he's worth it.

    Even if we struggle in those tough away games this month, I fancy us to kick on from February to the end of the season. Arsenal and Spurs have been playing mostly winnable games recently, and looking at their fixture list through Feb and March they've got a tough run and are going to drop some points I feel.

    Jesus, I don't even think it was a flaw of performance. Do you realise how much energy it takes to cover the entire length of a football pitch, as he was doing? We clearly had a game plan to push him forward and stretch West Ham. It worked. The flipside was that it left space in behind him to exploit. West Ham did that very rarely, and when they did, our Centre backs are quality so dealt with most of what was thrown at them. West Ham had a dodgy penalty and an OG to show for themselves. If you asked Johnson to not go forward as much and sit back, then he would have pissed all over Jarvis defensively, because he can defend well. He's good, but he's not superman.

    RE Downing. Against Young Boys Shelvey came deep for the ball, and Cole was trying to tuck in and get in behind. Maybe the thinking is for Downing to play on the right and try to do the same? Just a thought. Anyway I'm expecting nothing from him as usual, so he can't disappoint me.

    Going to Italy and winning is always a great result. Clean sheet, good performance, always looked the better team. You can see a team evolving here at the moment. Got to give it patience, we don't have all the personnel to be a top side and we'll have our off days, but for the first time in around 3 years I feel optimistic about us.

    Actually really good, I like the presenter guy, and Les Ferdinand and Strachan actually provide some actual analysis, rather than just describing what you've already seen, which most pundits seem to do.

    I actually think our line up is awesome, up to the front 3. We clearly need a couple of strikers to take the load off Luis, and cover for Lucas, as when he's missing we're a different team.

    Maybe, I just don't think he's as good as he thinks he is. Would love to be wrong if he signs.

    I just don't rate Sturridge that highly. I just know I'm going to be spending a lot of time shouting at him for missing the obvious pass and going for the selfish option every time.

    I can't think of another right back I'd rather have in our team. Better than given credit for defensively, absolutely superb going forward. Real Rolls Royce of a modern full back.

    He'll play Jonjo up top. With Sterling and either Aissaidi or Suso.
