  1. It's a media driven narrative that Trent has completely swallowed. He'd be decent enough as a cm but he was a generational position defining full back, and he's pissing on his own chips by seeming to not want to play the role
  2. I thought Trent's answer was a disgrace. He'd not be disciplined enough to be a pure 6, and he's not good enough to be a pure 10. So I'm not sure what midfield role he wants to play but he needs to get in line behind Klopps tactics. Whether he was off guard as he was with Sturridge or caught by the question but you'd expect your vice captain to straight bat that back
  3. I reckon there'll be a root and branch after this window. FSG have done it to themselves of course by sleeping at the wheel while trying to sell us, but they like being thought of as the smartest guys in the room and won't like looking like this absolute shambles. Wouldn't be surprised if there's conflict behind the scenes either
  4. We should go get him and sangare. We won't, but we should.
  5. I think in a few months that may look like a very good point
  6. There's some characters in here haha. Konate is absolutely brilliant and we likely don't get a point without him today. Not quite sure what more people want in a defender. Vvd was good as well.
  7. Thought Trent was fine defensively today. He wasn't great on the ball, the assist for salahs offside goal apart
  8. I think all things considered a good point. Chelsea are not shit and will be alot stronger in a few weeks time. We've still not finished building the side (which were all aware is a joke) and had a new midfield missing key elements. Parts were good, parts were bad. Salahs second is onside and we batter them I reckon. Should have had a pen
  9. I don't think this is a shit Chelsea team. They've got class wing backs, expensive defenders, and Jackson and sterling looked good. They've got a 106m midfielder, and they've got more on the way. We know the problems we've got, we look great going forward.
  10. Chelsea getting both Caicedo and Lavia is a car crash for us. How we respond in the market now defines our season
  11. Isn't it more that Chelsea have had terms lined up for a long time with his agents, rather than he just doesn't want to join us. Chelsea can't put together a viable bid. Unless there's a better player on the market (and I can't think of an available one) I like that were not backing away.
  12. Like most of our dealings this summer or lack of it makes no sense. I can only thing that were trying to make it look like we were stalling on Lavia all along when we stop being cheap cunts and pay the figure Southampton are asking for
  13. This transfer window is fucking mental. Jumped the shark completely here. Are we getting one of Caicedo or Lavia or are Chelsea getting both.
  14. Assume it's because high net worth invididuals often have other assets and sources of income etc which they'd be subject to personal assessment and tax on
  15. Agree about szobo playing right, looked like it was the plan to create some width. Maybe it will, who knows.
  16. This can't be enjoyable for you surely. I'd be looking at taking up gardening
  17. Think it's been mentioned but in addition to the minimum of 1 midfielder we will definitely get, a centre back would also be very helpful. But, if as is likely with us we don't get one, not having cl should be huge and we shouldnt be playing virg or Konate until the late stages of Europa, cotton wool treatment for them both
  18. Looking forward to seeing Szoboszlai and Mac Allister on the pitch at the same time
  19. It's possible you can play a combination of both even within games if the players are well drilled enough. The whole idea is you free up Trent to be wherever on the right hand side he needs to be to do the most damage. It's like a free role/libero from right back and he will be the best in the world at doing that. It's why it's so nonsensical to want him to play as one of the three CMS as then he won't have that freedom to do damage on the ball. The only way the opposition can stop it is to push their winger onto him and that should take away their attacking threat. The nervousness is because of how shit we were last season in the press and the how we were so vulnerable from a straight ball because of that. But that's always been the case through the Klopp era, we heard every week from pundits about how risky our high line was because it left the risk of us being done by a diagonal ball. Difference was that it very rarely happened because we were so good at keeping the ball and more importantly winning it back at source or cutting the passing lane to play those passes when we lost it. What probably will happen though in the early stages of the season with the new players is we don't always get it right and it may cost us goals as a result. But that would be the case whether we played Trent inverted or high right. And to those who want a dedicated right back to just defend, that's not how we play or have ever played under klopp, or how the very best teams in the world play and just isn't how modern football works.
  20. Something feels very off here, apart from the fact Hendo wanted to go at all and his choice of location. He's done a fair bit of coordinated goodbye PR, and pretty much all current and former players have rushed to comment on it, but no word from the club or Klopp?
  21. I think first game will be Alexis at the base with Jones and Szoboszlai in front of him, purely on the basis that Lavia won't have had the full pre season with us, plus Mac Allister is an incredibly tactically astute world cup winning midfielder. He's got alot of the gini about him and you could ask Gini to play any role in the midfield and he would do it excellently. Always enjoyed Gini on the rare occasions he played the 6
