  1. I am the first? Really? I can find posts where you're called it by others. I don't think Rafa is bigger than the club, I do though think he's far superior to Roy Hodgson and that we're going to suffer as a result of removing him. When did I say you were lining the pockets of the Yanks by being on these boards? I said you were by paying to go to matches. When you said 'I go the match' it wasn't exactly implying that you hadn't been in a very long time.
  2. Man Utd look a shadow of themselves without C.Ronaldo. No big trophies since, I don't see them winning any this season. He's lucky to have the likes of Scholes and Giggs to call on.
  3. He's not going to win the treble this season, expecting him to do it this year is largely unreasonable. He 'Net' spent more then Ferguson because of a certain sale of Ronaldo for £80 million. A player Slur had already signed before Rafa was here. If Rafa sold Torres, what would the net spend figures look like? How much has Mourinho wasted on the likes of Mancini, Muntari, Pandev, Shevchenko, Parker, SWP.
  4. That doesn't mean anything. You'll use poor player performances as a stick to beat the former manager with, but in turn use them to defend the current manager.
  5. He couldn't win us the league, do you not think there's extenuating circumstances as to why he couldn't? When he arrived, Arsenal just had an unbeaten season, United had rooney, ronaldo and so on coming through, Chelsea were Chelsea. He had no chance, we could never go out to compete with Chelsea financially, nor did he have players like Rooney, C.Ronaldo, Ferdinand, Evra and so on emerging. He inherited a side that struggled to finish 4th, and won the CL with it. All managers waste money, how much did Slur spend on Veron, Berbatov, Smith, Anderson, Nani. Mourinho on Shevchenko, SWP, Parker. His transfer dealings were very good prior to Hicks and Gillet arriving. Bear in mind he was dealing with Coco. When he had to form a squad for himself, he fucked up badly? Really? I look at his players and I see the likes of Reina, Agger, Skrtel, Soto, Xabi, Masch, Momo, Garcia, Dirk, Yossi. I see his squad that reached a CL final in 2007, a Semi-final in 2008, came the closest we've been to a League title since 1990 and by fortune we didn't win it. 86 points, 2nd place. Spending less than Slur and Chelsea to that date. Gross and Net. That involved rebuilding our shit squad from Houllier. We've got a squad packed with Journeyman because of him? Are you fucking serious!? Rafa signed Poulsen, Jones and Konchesky I'm guessing? This is a man who rebuilt our academy, brought in Borrell and Segura. Thanks to him we have the likes of Shelvey, Pacheco, Ayala, Suso, Wisdom and others to be excited about. So you're on these boards complaining and moaning about 'the cancers' as you call them, is that before or after your on the website lining their pockets and extending their stay? Shameful. When myself and others think of a 'Sky Sports Fan', you certainly come to mind. I'm not the first or last to give you that label.
  6. Oh dear. Sad state of affairs here. NWT this is poor, even by your standards.
  7. Let's be honest, if we don't win this and win it comfortably, we're in more trouble than we thought.
  8. Have a look first before you make a new thread, there's already one on this.
  9. Why does reeling the usual 'Sky Sports fan' make me a tit? You are one. So the point stands. Spending a shitload of money!? You know better than that. One bad season? That's now good reason to remove a manager. Charming sentiment, this is what our fans have become? You may say the problem was Benitez, is Hodgson the solution? If he has a bad season is he out? Dress it up all you want, we removed an elite world class manager for a journeyman on the back of a good UEFA Cup run with an unfancied side.
  10. We played them off the park in this fixture in March. 3-0 was the result, I see no reason why we shouldn't go out to attack and win heavily again. Hopefully, start to see more of the Torres we know and love. He should get the service he deserves.
  11. For the fact they won the treble, Barcelona 2009 and Inter 2010 have to be in there. So I'm going to go for 1. Barcelona 2009 2. Man United 1999 3. Inter 2010 4. Real Madrid 2002 5. Ajax 1995.
  12. Gerrard was well-below par last season, he's certainly not better than he was in the 5 seasons before it. Torres has scored - 33, 18, 22 so whereas your point was accurate, let me change my point then to his scoring ratio then wildly increased under Rafa. That is fact, Roy will not be able to utilise Torres to this effectiveness, especially if we continue in this current system. Reina better than last season? pfftt you're a fucking goon. You're the epitome of the Sky Sports football fan. Do you love man-marking? Is Gerrard better at CM? Is a man manager improving us? You don't rate Benitez, but then your opinion counts for fuck all. So does mine, but ask the likes of Jose Mourinho, Arsene Wenger, Alex Ferguson, Carlo Ancelotti, Roberto Mancini, Fabio Capello, Frank Rijkaard. All Managers Benitez has gotten the better of and despite their rivalries with him, I'm sure they all respect the mans ability.
  13. But it's not really is it. You haven't offered any points to suggest otherwise, so I'm afriad it is you who talks utter shite. But it's ok, because cash leaves your paypal account at fixed intervals to the operator of this website, your posts are flawless and always of an extremely high calibre.
  14. Cerebral. Football discussion at it's most insightful.
  15. Would Rep you if I could. Spot on in so many ways, Roy will not get 20 goals this year out of Torres, Reina will not be as reliable and consistent without Valero, Gerrard constantly swapping positions will limit him.
  16. Views like this is why the state of our footballing infrastructure is appalling. "Forget football, let's get some big hard nasty bastards to kick the shit out of anyone. No place for footballers like Joe Cole in our team." Are you a disciple of Sam Allardyce?
  17. It's like Groundhog day on here. Another thread pleading for patience with fans saying it's only been 5 games, then someone else will make a thread saying Roy Out. Roy is out of his depth, his tenure will not be successful (Then again it wasn't really supposed to be), but at least he can retire saying he managed LFC.
  18. I'll spell it out for you in simpler terms. He's come up against one decent side so far this season, us. He was anonymous. You try and talk about him as though he's having a Fernando Torres like impact, but in reality he hasn't pulled out one decent performance against top opposition. When you play some more decent sides soon, we'll see if he can up his game. Then I will use that as a measure of his ability. I've seen all your games, and I haven't been particularly impressed, he's not a bad player, he's average, he hasn't anything to suggest otherwise. I think that's fair. NB: statistics tell me he's unprolific in a shit league.
  19. Maybe I phrased what I said wrong. We have the players for it, I don't think it's something Roy will implement, or is capable of implementing.
  20. I don't think we're capable of playing with a high tempo. I think we'll sit back and invite pressure, 9 men behind the ball, Torres isolated. You know that's how we'll set up.
  21. Leave him alone alright, He's a fucking football manager!
  22. He's started the last 3 times we played them, we won 2 out of those 3 encounters and he was excellent and integral in the 2 we won. Best fans in the world.
