There's talk of an air ambulance and medical team on standby, but if there's any slight danger of the child suffering and/or dying, Alder Hey have to look at the ethics of following such a course of action. The whole thing looks like it may end quite unpleasantly, with the parents either being handcuffed and temporarily arrested or removed from the hospital altogether if/when any machinery is switched off. That, sadly, will be entitely their own doing.
