  1. There you have "them" I was referring to in the opening post. They pop up on a regular basis, saying he is fast.
  2. Every now and then, surprisingly often actually, some peope describe David N'Gog as a fast player. It can be fans or tv commentators. When he enters the pitch it's often to replace a slow player (take your pick), and N'Gog is about to save us with his blistering pace. As my vision is perfectly normal, and my mental health and memory also kind of works, I find this strange. I have never seen anything from N'Gog that qualifies him to be called a player with pace. Yes, now and then he can time a run. That might help to create this illusion. But all in all he's not fast. He's more like bloody slow. Am I the only one hearing/thinking this?
  3. In a team of footballers Lucas will play an important role. In a team of passengers, Lucas will play an important role, but will be exposed and criticized for not doing things that basically isn't his job to do. Oh, I remember Alonso bursting forward and scoring goals when playing alongside 4-5 extremely poor offensive players on a regular basis. Or Mikel. Or Mascherano. Or Carrick. Or Song. The fact is that had Lucas had some more goals under his belt (because he actually makes good runs forward, but sadly isn't capable of converting them) people wouldn't moan. And believe me they moan. I sat next to a retard yesterday at a pub. He moaned at every single touch Lucas had for the whole match. And finished with the pearl of wisdom: "my dream is to replace Lucas with Alonso" Christ on a bike!
  4. Busquets just at fault for Arsenals goal. Poor defending on a corner. Haven't seen Lucas making such a mistake during his time at Liverpool. Just saying. Taller maybe, but Lucas has great timing in the air and rarely is beaten there in midfield.
  5. Give them point reduction instead of stupid fines, and he will sing like a choir boy.
  6. 1. Wearing normal shin pads, and he wouldnt have a scratch. 2. If you zoom close enough in on a paper cut, it would look like a horrible injury
  7. The FA Cup has held firm for a long time. But if you compare the interest for domestic cups in other big leagues, it's no shock that it eventually would turn out this way. TV money are made in the top flight, the rest of the money are made in Europe. Money started ruling football decades ago. Still a shame, at least for the romantics
  8. Sky ratings: Carragher the same rating as Tomkins (7) Kuyt/Gerrard/Wilson the same rating as Suarez (6)
  9. My suggestion about pay as you play wasn't meant literraly. Comolli knows from his time at Arsenal how wenger threats players who approach their 30's when it comes to contracts. I hope he will do much of the same here.
  10. We're heading towards the end of the dark as a club now. New owners. New manager. New optimism. New hope. New players. That is all good for most of us. But there are some people who don't neccasarily cheer this situation. Who? The players being in danger of losing their place in the team, and most of all their agents. We see it clear now, how the machinery starts working on full throttle. Players and agents telling us through the media how their players love the club and wants to end their carreer here. How they would like to win trophies here. Forget the fact that some of the same players are parts of the reason we've been fooling around in the darkness. Forget that they have had several poor games, and even sesons. forget that they approach the wrong age. Passengers would love to stay at a big club, and their agents would love to cash in on another new contract for their clients. Kuyt was the first one out of course. Now Skrtel is following. I fully expect the people behind Maxi, Kyrgiakos, N'Gog and Aurelio to follow. I really, really hope Comolli is keeping his cool here. Offer them one year contracts with pay as you play conditons. Let's see how much they love the club then. If not they know where the door is. And according to the agents there are of course plenty of interest - so they better look it up rather sooner than later.
  11. And now....he's injured again.
  12. This season he's scored against Birmingham, West Ham(2), Wigan (3), Newcastle (2), Wolves (2). It's during periods like this Arsenal normally are hailed to be the best attacking team in the league. Then they meet some good or physical sides away from home....
  13. Why I bring up this now? Just saw some people putting together their all time Dutch PL XI. And some put Van Persie in there up front. I mean, come on! Van Nistelrooy, Bergkamp and Hasselbaink is all way ahead of Van Persie when it comes to producing in PL?
  14. I mean, what could really, REALLY good strikers do if they played up front for Arsenal. Perhaps not shoot as hard with their left foot, but apart from that there is plenty of very good strikers out there who could do an equally good, or even better, job for Arsenal. He has a style perfected for Youtube or match of the day as I see it. Goes missing far too often.
  15. Is he overrated? For me Van Persie is a bit like the team he plays for. Every now and then, Arsenal are hailed as being the best team on the planet. This normally occurs after they beat a shitty "Wigan" in september with 5-0. In this scenario Van Persie scores goals. At least one of the goal is a screamer. But think past the nice goals he scores. Is he all that? He's played for Arsenal for seven seasons now. Never scored more than 11 league goals in a season. One title under his belt (FA cup 2005, came on as a sub in the 87th minute). Is it wide of the mark to suggest that flashy trendplayers like Van Persie is the reason Arsenal isn't winning titles anymore? Brilliant in glimpses, but over a season not quite good enough?
  16. Pasqualin: "Gattuso è stato provocato" There's the link.
  17. Joe Jordan has played for AC Milan as well , and yelled at the captain of his own former team at his own former home ground. What an utter embarassment. Imagine one of our former foreign players - lets say Bruno Cheyrou - returned to anfield as assistant of a french club in an european tie and went to the sideline and yelled at our captain "you fucking british cunt" Really respectful, eh? If I was Gattuso I would have broken his nose, alongside the rest of his teeth.
  18. Not the smartest thing for a staff member from a tiny European minnow to stand on the sideline and yell at the captain of AC Milan - in Milano. Just saying. EDIT: "You fucking italian bastard" was apparantly the fords from Jordan.
  19. Indeed. He's only scored 100+ goals after that.
  20. Dirk Kuyt a Liverpool Legend? Now I've seen it all. A hard working passenger. Is heading fast towards being a liability now that we are to implement pass and move in our offensive game as well. Loves the club, and would of course love to stay, since he'll never get a sniff at a top club again. Thank you and goodbye!
  21. So far from the truth really. Gerrard has shit technique hitting a non-moving ball. Look at all his corners, free kicks and so on. Suarez is a proven free kick taker, and should take our free kicks where it's natural for a right footed player to have a go at goal. Aurelio should take them when it's natural with a left footed player. Gerrard can take them further out, when someone rolls the ball sideways, so he can twat it as hard as he can.
