Has hit a new level on knobheadness. He's just suggested that in music all combination of musical notes have been combined now which is why there will never be a new sound. He suggests that is the reason why there are so many musical veterans in the album charts now. Apart from missing the glaring fact that these people are legends and are bound to sell thousands of copies of new albums anyway, he obviously has a very narrow view of music as he seems to think that, in the last 500 years all possible music has been written. I think this man is a complete ball sack anyway. As a musician myself, i can say that you can combine the same notes/chord sequence and get a different sound depend on how you strum or what instrument you play. I agree that there may not be 'new sounds' but is music about evolution? Without led zepelin there'd be no metallica, without metallica there'd be no lamb of god. I use metal as an example as that is my music of choice. Your thoughts would be welcome are there new sounds, does there have to be new sounds or can music just get by on evolution?
