I don't think playing Johnson on RW will be the right decision, johnson is a player who can dribble while running at pace and having space opened up ahead of him. If he is to start at right wing, he will be forced to dribble from a standing position, something I dont think he's quite good at. Id start with the same lineup that played against United, but with johnson and Mereiless coming in the side. And if we are comfortably winning, Id like to see Poulsen given 20 or 15 mins towards the end, to see if The King can get something out of him.

Ah, where do i begin with this one.... The Room---- 2/10. Horrible horrible movie, with what could be the worst piece of acting i saw in any film. It stars Tommy Wiseau, and he is the one who directed, wrote AND produced this pile of shit. However, if you forget the fact that it is considered a drama and view it as a comedy, you would probably rate it a 7/10. I only recommend watching this movie if you have nothing to do one night , and just feel like having fun.

About Lucas, let's go back to before he even signed with us in 2007. When he was at Gremio, Lucas was constantly being described by the gremio fans as a Lampard type player, because as people on here have mentioned he does have an engine in him. Lucas has been misused for the last two years as a defensive midfielder by Rafa, and I think this season if he can play in a role where he is given more license to get forward we will see some of those glimpses he used to show in brazil. Just remembered, remember the ball he played to yossi against atletico, that was a class ball and he was actually close to the attacking players, which is where he should be.

If we were going to play the 4231 again this year , then it's banega for me, as he has quality distribution and can also tackle the ball quite well. On the other hand, if we are going to use a 451 or a 442, then defour would be more suitable as he is more complete than Banega.

With the increase of 1 striker formations in the modern game, a 3-5-2 would see us suffer heavily against teams like that. We are going to play with a 4 man defence, as roy clearly favours that approach, and it is the right approach in my opinion too. We could have gone 433, but we can't due to us not having players like Xavi and Iniesta ( Although id love to see how Masch, Stevie, and Aquilani operate in a 433). What is obvious is that we need an attack-minded left back, and a winger who can hug the touchline and whip in quality crosses and can also cut inside and score goals. Roy is in a position where i do not envy him, he has to sell one of our top players I'm afraid, and if it is Torres then so be it, although I love Nando and I would hate it to see him leave us. We cannot have a play-maker in the No. 10 position, because as it has been repeated many times even by the foolish media that player can EASILY get marked out of the game, just look at what essien does to Gerrard almost everytime we played the chavs! Gaetano D'agostino. 4. Ever Banega. 5. Michael Carrick ( They will never sell him to us) Those are the ones i could think of off the top of my head, but I think i have another idea since we have very very limited funds, and here it is so PLEASE read it : Holland in this world cup have been playing football that is very fluid in attack yet very defensive minded, and they have NO player who distributes the ball ( Van Bommel could be the one who does this, but his range of passing is not as good as alonso's and he is much more defensive minded than Alonso). They simply have De jong and Van bommel breaking up play and distributing it to the front four attacking players to work their magic. I think we can do that this season with limited funds, play mascherano and lucas again together in the center, and let the front 4 work their magic, and we have dirk who is integral to the current Dutch system! We managed to grab Jovanovic, now we just need a back up striker and we could possibly play like the dutch, and it would be very deadly, but again we lack the quality upfront.

I really don't think we have that type of player in our squad, here's why : Gerrard, while being an excellent footballer who can play in many positions, he cannot play in this one. Reasons are because he is simply unable to dictate the tempo of a game. Aquilani on the other hand may be able to do what gerrard can't and dictate the tempo, but he isn't aggressive enough when tackling a player and i have doubts over his positional sense, and he seems best played behind the striker. Lucas: Well I am really on the balance about lucas, he is still a young player, but towards the end of last season he started playing some delicious passes, but then again we don't know if he is going to continue progressing or not. Mascherano is simply a destroyer, he should partner whoever is on the other side of centre midfield and look to give the ball to him and break up the opposition's play. I really think Ever Banega of valencia would be a good shout in my opinion, problem is if we have funds to buy a defensive midfielder + a left back + a winger.

A left back is a priority no doubt about that, but i still think we need to get a player in the mould of alonso, as most top teams have a player that can distribute the ball from deep positions, that is if we want to continue with using the 4231, so a defensive midfielder for me.

I still think our best formation is the 4231, even though it didn't quite work well last season. But again that was due to the sale of alonso, and when teams play a 4231, on of the defensive midfielders has to be very good at picking up the ball from the center backs and distributing it forward, something which we don't have now. Germany in this world cup displayed how deadly a 4231 can be, with schweinsteiger playing the alonso role and dictating the play from deep, but they also did something very smart, THEY OVERLOADED THE FLANKS IN NUMBERS. What that means is, when Germany had the ball during build up play, you would find that ozil or klose will go to either the right or left flank, while the other pushes to the box, this effectively gave germany 3 players in the same wide are, leaving spaces in the middle and on the other flank for players like podolski, muller, khedira, and ozil to exploit. If we wish to use the 4231 again, we need a player who can distribute the ball really well and is able to tackle, and i am afraid neither lucas or aquilani are suitable for this position.
