  1. That's exactly what my mum has done, but a lot of the public funded stuff is being stopped. She also teaches privately, which is where the real money is.
  2. My mum moved from South Wales to Southern Italy about 4 and half years ago, and she loves it over there. She is now fluent with the language, as she teaches in a college, so has had help form their teachers. Different pace of living, much quieter where she is, and she has no intention of ever coming back.
  3. My mate got them through O2 priority. Another mate of mine is close friends with Bill from Carcass, works as his roadie occasionally when he tours with Firebird, so he's kept me up to date with all Carcass stuff. The new album sounds very impressive, old cuts that didn't make the Heartwork album, mixed up with new stuff written by Jeff and Bill. I met Jeff at a Firebird gig in Manchester a few years ago, seems a nice bloke. I've had a few drinks with Bill, and he's very down to earth and extremely humble, no hint of the usual musician's ego at all.
  4. Tickets booked for AIC and Ghost, excited already!!!! Busy week for you there. I've got Damnation Festival on November 2nd, Carcass headlining that one.
  5. They are worth seeing live with DuVall. I first saw them with him when they supported Metallica in Dublin, 2006 I think, and was very impressed, but have seen them since on their last UK tour, ironically in the same venue that I last saw them with Staley, and they blew me away. Such a brilliant band and his vocal style just fits perfectly.
  6. The last few pages have made for some very interesting reading. Gatland has been completely vindicated for his selection as he picked a team to win a one-off match. Everything just seemed to work correctly for a change. The scrum was just immense, and being an ex tight head, the yellow was fully justified in my opinion. I'm still waiting for the likes of Austin Healey and Stuart Barnes to make apologies to Gatland for some of their remarks earlier in the week, but can't see it somehow. Lets just rejoice in what was a brilliant performance by the whole squad and then we can all start squabbling again when the autumn internationals and 6 Nations come about.
  7. I'll be in the pub at 10.30am tomorrow morning, with a few chaps who know nothing about the game, but who just fancy watching it. I'm nervous just thinking about it now. The selection has been made, we've all shared our views, so now its time to unite and cheer them on.
  8. Good stuff that George. Its going to be one hell of a game and I just hope that the Lions come out on top.
  9. The amount of people on twitter who are now sharing this viewpoint is very disappointing. Its the only time that I ever support an English rugby player, and I know that Gatland has picked a very strange team, but surely people should get behind them for this final match? The BBC rugby lady, Sonja McClaughlan, just keeps retweeting pro irish supporters and not giving a balanced argument at all, its all very sad. Before this tour started, most people went for an Irish/Welsh team, as they have been the strongest over the past few years in the 6 Nations, so now that Gatland has dropped BOD, he gets the crap, and rightly so in my opinion, but lets wait and see if they win first.
  10. I know what you mean, don't worry. Injuries to major players haven't helped his cause, but the game plan has seemed very disjointed. 5 changes last game, 6 this game - something clearly hasn't been right.
  11. Many people seemed to have forgotten that Woodward used as many of his older players from his 2003 England team as possible for those test matches. Didn't he drag Neil Back out of retirement?
  12. And I think that it what it boils down to. He has done some amazing defensive work, but his attacking game has been missing. It seems hard to criticise BOD, as he really is a true legend of the game, but maybe time has just caught up with him.
  13. Hmm, an interesting point of view. So you are not going to be supporting the best goal-kicker in northern hemisphere rugby, one of the best wingers in world rugby, the best no 3 in world rugby......I could go on. Get behind the team, the changes have been made and like most, I don't agree with all of them, lets see what happens on Saturday.
  14. Good stuff that. Saw them at Damnation Festival once, decent live band as well.
  15. I remember it well, probably the most ferocious pit I've ever been in, it was just fucking mental.
  16. Checked twitter this morning and first tweet I saw was from Trucker Paddy, so I had to check the TV for confirmation. Gatland is going to either be a hero or come in for some almighty crap after this game. Its a very, very, very brave decision to drop BOD altogether, as now the Lions are lacking any true leaders. The Heaslip/Faletau debate is a tough one, but Faletau has been excellent on tour and probably deserves his chance. He works hard and gets over the gain line constantly. The front 3 will probably dominate more in the scrum, but the concern is over Hibbard's line out throwing. He just needs to play it safe and keep hitting Wyn Jones and Parling. Its also a big match for Phillips, another decision which I find quite strange, as he hasn't had the best of tours. Lets just keep our fingers crossed that it all works out on Saturday.
  17. Yes, Warburton is out of the game. Faletau would be another alternative to Heaslip at 8, but I can't see that happening either.
  18. I spoke to a friend yesterday who is a Sunderland season ticket holder, and he said that Mignolet is a good shot stopper, very agile, tends to punch on crosses but doesn't command his back four that well, needs to be more vocal. He went on to say that we would be mad to sell Reina and keep Mignolet as first choice, but the potential is clearly there for him to get better as he'd be with players better than Titus Bramble.
