  1. I could be wrong but I'm sure I saw Henderson driving near his house in Formby this morning. Does anybody know if he actually travelled?
  2. Very frustrating to see Suarez give the ball away so easily when the team are working so hard to win it in the first place. His first touch was poor, he doesn't seem able to hold up the ball and he just can't seem to find a simple pass. His tactic of trying to constantly run through defenders with the ball is working less and less and we end up losing possession and chasing back to win it again. It's also becoming hard to defend the diving. People all around me at the match last night were groaning throughout the second half as yet again he went down far too easily. He's obviously a top player but he's far from the finished article.
  3. Although some might not like to admit it, the people of Liverpool and Manchester are very similar.
  4. The Newsagent close to mine orders 13 copies of The S*N each day as he believes he's bringing bad luck on the unlucky 13 who buy it each day.
  5. Apparently he was calling disabled fans "spastic mutants". I hope the fella doesn't set foot in Liverpool again nevermind Anfield.
  6. Just on SSN that Rodgers is "young, talented and British". Hmmmmmmmmm, heard that one before.
  7. Apologies for the Shankly typo, supposed to be working here and typing at 100 miles an hour when nobody is looking. Huge, huge gamble by FSG and exactly the opposite of what we need right now in my opinion. We don't need "Unproven", "Could be", "Might do", we need a proven winner who will come in and shake the fucking club up from top to bottom. I've looked at Rodgers record and I just don't see what he's achieved for him to end up at Liverpool Football Club. Hodgson was a shocker but he'd just beaten Juventus amongst others, reached a european final with a horribly mediocre team and was a media darling. Can't stand the man but I can see why people could make a case for him. When it comes to the new season I'll be behind Rodgers 100%, going the games and buying all the shit the club churns out for the kids. However, I'm worried. If this goes wrong it's unthinkable that yet again we start looking for another manager. Would be more than happy to be very, very wrong about Rodgers and FSG.
  8. Can't stand Hodgson but at least you could make a case for him. Find it hard to even make a case for Rodgers, it's all based on what he might do. He might be the new Shankley, he may also turn out to be just the bloke who got sacked after 6 months with Reading.
  9. Could go either way..... We don't have the option for this to go badly or it could ruin the club for the next 10 years, maybe more.
  10. A worse appointment than Hodgson in my opinion. How his track record qualifies him for the role of Liverpool FC manager at such an important time is staggering. I was 99% sure Dalglish would be sacked but I was equally sure the Americans would then quickly unveil a master plan that would get the fans excited and get us back up the table ASAP. How wrong I was, I wouldn't be bothered if they sold up and left now. Hope the fella does well but fuck me I couldn't be less excited if I tried.
  11. Martinez or Rodgers........ When it comes to appointing managers, we're shopping at Aldi.
  12. A mate of mine saw Kenny Dalglish in Waitrose in Formby about 6 weeks ago. He approached and spent a few seconds thanking him for everything he'd done over the years for LFC. He then said it would be an honour if he could get a quick photo, Kenny said "get lost" and turned and walked off. The moral of the story is that it doesn't matter who the person is, if you catch them at a bad time your going to get blanked. My mate was honestly pretty offended but it didn't half make me laugh when he told me what had happened.
  13. I don't know why I'm surprised but the online store is in meltdown. I've been trying to order kits for the kids for the last 45 minutes and still haven't managed to checkout. Typical Liverpool, they produce a great kit, then piss you off when you try to buy it.
  14. American business men are notoriously ruthless when they don't get the results they want and Comolli going will likely be the start of changes. I'd expect the decision to replace Kenny has already been taken and I'd expect him to go as soon as the FA Cup run is over. Even winning it won't save him. I'd imagine we'll have a massive overhaul in the summer along with an announcement on the new stadium as the Americans stamp their authority on the club.
  15. I've been told by a close friend of David Fairclough that his wife passed away on Friday after she suffered a brain hemorrhage. Best wishes to the family.
  16. Looks like Hodgson is on a mission to get a team relegated this season.
  17. I was talking to a senior member of Liverpools medical team about 18 months ago and we were discussing various different players at the club. When I asked about Torres he said that the medical team constantly struggled to get him on the pitch because he was always suffering from a variety of different injuries. He said given his injuries and the pressure to get him playing that he was by far the hardest player that medical team had to deal with. I remember thinking at the time that it didn't sound as if he expected Torres to have a particularly lengthy career as the injuries would eventually catch up with him. If Chelsea will pay £50m, maybe it's best to cash in now.
  18. The Times Roy Hodgson has apologised to Liverpool fans for questioning their support, but his contrition has come too late to safeguard his future as manager after the club’s owner, Fenway Sports Group (FSG), determined that he is not the man to take the club forward. Though Hodgson is only six months into the three-year contract he signed last summer, he will be ousted as soon as a high-calibre replacement can be identified and recruited. The 63-year-old has made it clear that he will not tender his resignation despite presiding over Liverpool’s worst start to a season for 57 years and his relationship with the club’s supporters breaking down, so FSG will effectively take the decision out of his hands by actively targeting his successor. Should the right man become available Hodgson’s departure will be confirmed before the end of the season, although FSG will continue to bide its time in a bid to ensure that the problems facing the club are not exacerbated by any short-term decisions, as was the case last summer after the removal of Rafael Benítez. Hodgson was in damage-limitation mode yesterday, apologising to supporters for his assertion that they had failed to back him. But his remorse appeared to cut little ice, with an online petition calling for his immediate dismissal attracting more than 11,000 signatories and demanding “a manager of greater quality”. Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday was a setback too far for both fans and owners in a season in which embarrassing results have become a regular occurrence. Hodgson attempted to build bridges before today’s home match against Bolton Wanderers. “It is a cliché but we do need time, patience and support, and the support from our fans at this club is of vital importance because that is what has made the club great through the years,” he said yesterday. “We need that support and we need them [the supporters] to get behind us because things aren’t going well.”
  19. When did the Mods at RAWK become the voice of Liverpool fans? That open letter to John Henry is an embarassment, the press will have a field day with it.
