  1. I can think of many parents who wouldn't have bothered with the Police and would've had him kneecapped. Probably would have recovered quicker than Sturridge though.
  2. "No-one is being priced out of the stadium. There is a seat for everyone at the right price." - Ian Ayre That's possibly one of the stupidest comments in the history of LFC.
  3. After religiously going to Anfield since 1982 as an 8 year old, I walked out 2 years ago and haven't been back since. I live locally, I've got a decent job but I'm priced out.
  4. I'd be amazed if it doesn't finally come out that Sturridges absenses have been down to mental issues. It would certainly make more sense than the official line the club have been giving us for the last 18 months.
  5. A mediocre time with Tom and Dan. I've been listening for years, superb !
  6. I've met so many players over the years, most think they've made it just signing for Liverpool. We don't need anymore players who want £180k a week, we need hungry players who want to play for Liverpool.
  7. You're clearly taking the piss but my point is that years ago you could relate to the players because they lived like you. These pricks now live like Kings and achieve fuck all, fucking mugs like you fund them to live a life we can only ever dream of. The games ruined beyond belief.
  8. When I grew up in the 70's & 80's, I lived just around the corner from Ray Clemence and Emlyn Hughes. They starred for Liverpool, my Dad was a hard working Joiner but we lived in very similar houses. Now very average players want a £10 Million signing on fee and £180k a week. This lot live on another planet now, I can't relate to any of them.
  9. Currently 20% off the new kit in the online store, offer ends tomorrow. Never known a new kit to be discounted within 2 weeks, can't be selling well at all.
  10. Going back a couple of years, when a new kit was launched, literally every kid in the neighbourhood had one within days. I'm yet to see anybody wearing the new kit and it's been out a fortnight. I'd bet sales are extremely poor.
  11. I'm not laughing. I'm not angry. I'm just past caring at this point. Roll on next season.
  12. Calling Carragher a knob is out of order. I'd imagine a few people wouldn't mind a little chat with Mr Ward next time he shows his face on Merseyside.
  13. I've not met a single local fan today who isn't absolutely horrified at last night. The real shame is that regardless of results, next years "event" will be even bigger with extra fireworks ! There's nothing we can do.
  14. Surely the whole thing could have been done at one of the function rooms at Anfield without fans. I just can't understand the need to put it in the Echo arena and turn it in to an event. Hope the club are happy now, a small number of fans boo Sterling and it's all over the news this morning.
  15. The Echo are running a live blog with photos. Looks pretty busy but the way it's set up looks very awkward.
  16. James Pearce – ‏@JamesPearceEcho Not sure how this is going to work. A thousand people having a pint round the outside watching guests have dinner.
  17. Live on LFC TV from 8pm. I hope 90% of them are awarded with 3 months in prison.
  18. If I was Rodgers I'd have cancelled this, rewarding mediocrity isn't the Liverpool way. We achieved none of our targets, not to worry, let's party. I give up.
  19. The reason Balotelli is so hard to coach is because he's lazy and as thick as a brick. That's the reason teams can't move him on quick enough. Having said that the negative media focus on him since he moved to LFC has been ridiculous.
  20. I hope he's not expecting to get paid for the next 4 months.
  21. I'm not coming across all in the know but this came directly from somebody who worked very closely with Torres at Liverpool but has since moved to another role at a different club. He left Liverpool after the medical team got cleared out recently, I only know him because he lives near me and our kids used to play for the same junior team so we got quite friendly and he'd pass on bits and pieces of info. I was told in the summer of 2010 that both Torres and Benayoun would be going to Chelsea in a double deal. Torres had agreed "a pre contract agreement", whatever that is and staff at the club assumed he'd be going once a price was fixed with Chelsea. At the very last minute Torres announced to the club that he'd changed his mind and in the end only the Benayoun transfer went through. Everybody assumes the Torres and Carroll deals were rushed through in the January but the club knew for at least six months that Chelsea wanted Torres and that he'd almost left the previous summer. I'd assume the club knew Chelsea would be back having got so close in the summer and Carroll was lined up as a replacement. My reason for posting this is so people realise this was rumbling on for months and was not something that just happened at the very end of January 2011.
  22. In the late 90's a trip to Liverpool City Centre always started with a visit to HMV. Now I only call in to laugh at the prices. Just looked for The Wire box set online in the sale, it's still £82, that's taking the piss. I think the management of HMV slept through most of 2000 to 2010 and they are shortly about to get what they probably deserve which is administration. Real shame for the hard working staff frontline staff though.
  23. I was horrified this morning when my 10 year old said "Hey Dad, we're 12th, that's not bad". My lad goes to the match regularly and knows his football but it just summed up for me the low expectations that surround the club at the minute. We all expect LFC to be challenging at the top but maybe my lad is right and we are now just an average team, with an average manager in an average league position.
