Early days of course, but what is worrying is that despite automatically qualifying for the champions league we seem to be targeting the same level of player as previous summers, albeit with greater sums of money involved. We could have bought Lallana, Can and Lambert - with possibly Lovren and Bertrand yet to arrive - without the lure of champions league.

Absolutely cacking it and it's been a long time since I could say that about a Liverpool league match in late March. Every game now carries so much weight, so much pressure. Good times.

Bricking it. Maybe it's the over-confidence of some of fans which makes me feel uneasy or maybe it's just because I'm a naturally pessimistic douschebag but I'm proper bricking it before this game. Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue..

I agree with the principle of not buying players just for the sake of it, but surely we can entice players of better quality than Downing and Henderson to the club, given as he has said, that there is money available.

One from left of field, but was very impressed with a player called Omar Abdulrahman in the Olympics; played for the UAE, and had an eye for a pass.

I still have faith in the manager and still have faith in his 'philosophy', but he needs to start winning soon, because we're becoming mired in mid table mediocrity which will be hard to shake off. He messed up badly tonight with his team selection.

Haven't seen the penalty appeal (stuck in work), but it seems ref's go into liverpool games thinking 'I'm not gonna be the one that's conned by a Suarez dive'..

I think the plan is to have a midfield three of Lucas, Allen and Gerrard, with Adam, Spearing and Henderson deputising. It's a midfield more concerned with disrupting the opposition and retaining possession, but it certainly doesn't scream 'creativity' to me.

Try 'documentaryheaven.com', great website which allows you to watch documentaries for free. As for recommendations, ESPN's 'the two escobars' is a great watch; 'When we were kings' is also another great sporting documentary, about the Ali vs Foreman fight in Zaire.
