  1. They think Benitez is a cross between Sacchi and Michels over there, and it's the likes of Carra who are holding us back from his 'total football' vision. Ignoring the fact that we play some of the worst, most negative football in the league with supposed 'technical' players who can barely pass the ball under pressure.
  2. It's true. Slower tempo, more deliberate, which allows you to plan and perfect very mechanical moves and patterns of play. Here, even with the foreign influence, it's all about pace, power and instinct. What's even more frustrating is he looked to have it sussed in his second season but seemed to dismantle it the season after.
  3. The team which finished today was as bad as it gets for our club. It's staggering how he's handled the squad in the past few seasons, which is now on par with one he took over.
  4. It's gone way beyond a blindspot and into the realms of ego and downright stubborness, which contradicts the image of Benitez as a pragmatist with only thoughts for the team.
  5. Good European manager, domestic underachiever who would suit a continental club in a more 'tactical' league.
  6. Still gives me nightmares that. To be fair, he's another striker ruined by an overly defensive manager.
  7. I'd wait until the end of the season myself, although if we go out of the CL early and fall way behind the mancs we might aswell cut out losses and let little Sammy take over and secure CL status until we can find a new manager.
  8. There is a sense of the Houllier's in Kuyt's perma residence in the team. Maybe Benitez is in full on paranoid mode and feels he can only trust certain players.
  9. The title was never really on. We're just not good enough and would have been hanging onto the coat tails of Chelsea if they hadn't faltered.
  10. I'd say the views on here are pretty balanced. Who gives a fuck anyway. Too many superfans about trying to pigeon hole you into a particular group. Just say what you think.
  11. He's an embarrassment. I don't think he'd get in the vast majority of Prem teams and yet he starts every game without fail at a club like LFC.
  12. I believe it is. The fact is, poor owners or not, life goes on and we can't laud being top of the league one month and then when it goes to pot start blaming the rifts at the club again. If things were so bad we'd never have been in that position to throw it away, which came about after Benitez's public rant and manipulation of our lofty position for his own means, compounded by his revert to type in terms of approach and frankly bizarre tactical and selection decisions.
  13. I'm not sure that shite today had a level.
  14. Hehe, another johnny-come-lately. Instead of reading books on 'tactics' maybe you should read up on our history, eh?
  15. I thought I was on ignore, you snivelling little shit?
  16. Are you for real? We'll get less than half that for all them. Kuyt will go in the 3 million bracket. The rest will probably go out on loan and eventually sold for pittance. We've been duped into believing the hype about these players. The truth is they're just not very good.
  17. No denying that he's improved our standing in Europe but I think this notion that we'd fall apart in that particular comp if he suddenly left does make me laugh.
  18. Using that simple minded logic, Dossena would be better than Evra, Babel as good as Ronaldo, and so on...
  19. We do so well in Europe because we defend in numbers and the players raise their games. There's no super human tactical plan behind it, which is why it baffles me when Benitez takes all the credit. I'd go as far as saying that our European reputation precedes us, which was earned long before Benitez arrived, and any good experienced manager would be able bring us success in Europe.
