  1. Glad he's delighted...maybe he should have said something when we needed him to? Sky Sports | Football | Premier League | News | Gerrard hails Reds result Gerrard hails Reds result Reds star wants to move forward Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard has spoken of his delight at the High Court verdict paving the way for the club's takeover. Reds co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett failed in their bid to block a possible takeover by New England Sports Ventures. The American co-owners tried to remove managing director Christian Purslow and commercial director Ian Ayre from the board last week in an attempt to prevent the sale. But Reds chairman Martin Broughton claimed he had the right to sell the club to NESV as Hicks and Gillett had signed agreements not to oppose the sale when they received an extension to their refinancing deal with Royal Bank of Scotland earlier this year. Mr Justice Floyd ruled Hicks and Gillett did not have the power to do so, meaning Liverpool'sboard could now push through a deal with NESV which was agreed last week. Positive news Liverpool's board are now meeting to try and reach an agreement to finalise the takeover and end a tumultuous last few months for the club. Gerrard believes the ruling is positive news for the club and he hopes the whole club can now move forward, starting with this weekend's Merseyside derby at Everton. "It's a fantastic result and credit needs to go to Christian, Ian and the chairman who have worked so hard on this," Gerrard told the club's official website. "It seems things are nearly sorted off the pitch so we need to start getting them right on it by getting three points at Goodison on Sunday. "I know how frustrated the fans have been with what has been going on and I can understand their feelings. But we've all suffered in this, especially the supporters, and now it's time for us all to pull together and help move the club forward."
  2. What the fuck are you on about? 19 defeats in our first season? Are you sure about that? I think you'll find your wrong. The football we played in the first season was one hundred times better than this shit.
  3. Oh please, some people on this thread need to fuck off. The reason why Rafa was given patience was because of the results AND performances he gave us when he first came. Our football was good, we controlled games, and when we didnt, he would come out and fucking ADMIT IT. More so, Rafa had won titles and championships before he came to liverpool, and managed a Valencia side who played some of the best football i've seen played at Anfield. Roy hasn't, and therefore is understandably not afforded such patience. He has served up dross his whole fucking career. More so, Roy is seemingly perfectly fucking happy with our current performances. So why the fuck is he asking for patience? This is what he's setting up his team to play and the results he's setting up his team to get. Some people really need to stop talking shit. EDIT: And what hypocrisy? If Rafa ever said our expectations are too high for wanting to be a shit team in the Europa fucking league, he would be lynched!
  4. so. Buy my girlfriend a 350£ sony camera (literally 5 days ago). Tonight she rings me up crying saying her bag got swiped from the ledge she left it on for 'a minute' and when she found it again, the camera, £10 and her iphone was missing. I say 'her' iphone, but its fucking mine too. The iPhone was not insured. Because smart arse mrs manic ''never got round to it''. lost cause im presuming? due to insurance being linked with serial numbers etc? However, with the camera - is there any way in hell that I can maneuver myself a replacement without paying 350£? Can I not insure it now, and pretend it got nicked in a months time? Please GF, give me some good news. As you may remember I asked you guys for top restaurant advice for our anni. That thread is now redundant because the dumb shlag is getting a maccy D's and a slap after this.
  5. Shut the fuck up you dosy idiot. This team, bar a few, lamped Real Madrid. Your just a shit manager, and one of the very few i've seen even fuck up the whole 'New coach confidence' boost. (aimed at Roy not you usernameunknown)
  6. What the fuck are you on about you thick cunt? Do you think our opposition tonight were of the standard of Atletico, Benfica or Lille? More so, stop these comparisons with Rafa's reign. We're judging Roy on Roy. so far Roy has been absolutely, categorically, overwhelmingly SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT And then has the nerve to say he has nothing to complain about. If he came out and admitted how poor we are I doubt he'd be so unwanted. The truth is, we're doing just as he expects us to - mediocre. so with that in mind, roy can royally fuck off as soon as he gets a chance.
  7. i cant be arsed reading that at the moment, but what i can tell you is that "too big to fail" is a very very good book. Read it.
  8. i just climbed fucking kilimanjaro a month ago and made it to the peak. what a picture it would have been. life is a bastard sometimes.
  9. Hello wise-ones, Have an anniversary coming up and i've recently been doing pretty well in terms of money, so I wanted to take her out for a nice slap up meal in central london? I was just wondering if you lot had been to any restaurants which you'd recommend?
  10. nothing fanciful in this thread at all in my opinion I noticed it, so did all of my mates - he visibly avoided him, and torres didn't seem joyous at all. whether that means nando is off is another thing.
  11. Please somebody fuck hodgeson out of our club This REALLY isn't where he belongs.
  12. Okay, maybe the terminology 'Asset Stripping' was ill-used. I apologize for that. My point still remains. They are selling our best players and not reinvesting. You say im jumping the gun. Just dont be surprised when Torres leaves next year and we get Andy Carrol as a replacement.
  13. Im only going to mention the signings that we're free, but i dont see the point of talking about Degen et al. Keane was sold in January, never replaced, Riera was sold, never replaced, Dossena was replaced, never replaced. Long time may have been an exaggeration, but this window, last window, the window before and the window before that, we have not had a positive net spend.
  14. if we've given them THE OPTION OF BUYING HIM AS PART OF THE LOAN DEAL, then how do i not have proof of them being WILLING TO SELL? Hence, your post is bollocks. bollock-head.
  15. My post was about the INTENTION of the owners. They are willing to sell our good players, and are reluctant to reinvest the money.
  16. What about when we finished 2nd and embarrased Real in the CL? Why didnt we invest then? Even the player we bought, we bought by paying in installment or by cancelling debts.
  17. If Juve were willing to buy AA without wanting to test him on a loan deal first, he would be gone. The intention of the owners is clear as glass.
  18. How the fuck does it? We've agreed to let Aquilani go on loan with an option for them to buy (so we've basically agreed to the sale of Aquilani) Spending the mascherano money in January (when we may have refinanced and would have recieved a shit load of cash from the TV deals) means fuck all also. We should be spending £20m+ NET every summer. However, our NET is negative at the moment. and it has been for a very long time.
  19. I will donate 10£ to HJC if Aquilani is not sold next year. Your other points are redundant. Masch not passing his medical does not mean we have not agreed to sell him. The transfer window not being shut does not mean that we have actively tried to replace players we have sold thus far, or we are likely to. If I am jumping the gun, I am happy to wait until the window is shut until I make a judgement. If we buy two players worth 35£, then fair enough. Does that sound realistic? realistic my ball-sack.
  20. People on here must be fucking blind. We are selling our best players (it doesnt make a shitwipe of difference if they wanted to leave) and bringing in frees or duds or average players. if you cannot see that then you seriously are blinkered.
  21. They are not forcing anybody out of the door, youre right. But by not reinvesting the money from sales they are effectively asset stripping us. But youre probably right. The yanks wouldn't fuck us over like that.
  22. Explain to me how Aquilani 18m, Mascherano 20m and Yossi at 6m, with 5m poulsen is wrong? If the figures i put are wrong, you are being incredibly pedantic. you know my point.
