You have to ask if he is better than Kuyt, Keane and Torres? It doesn't matter how much he costs really. If we think he is then his past doesn't matter, I say get him. But I'm not sure he is any better.

I think we should sign him if we think he is better than Dirk, Torres and Keane. If not then it might be worth spending the money on a right sided player.

Heskey is far better than N-Gog and on a par with Kuyt so he might add 'something' whether that is worth £4m is probably open for debate.

Messi and Maradona are probably a step up from Kenny even to be fair to them.

It would be funny if he ended up at Milan but they did get a close up of him at the European Cup Final.

I doubt we will go for Downing when we already have Riera here.

Cool mate understand. All I was saying is that he is an able deputy.

As with Lucas and Keane it would be nice to support the players that aren't doing so well or taking time to find their feet. I remember the likes of C. Ronaldo and Theo Walcott were not tearing up trees when they first arrived at their clubs and look how they have turned out?

I don't think Lucas is as bad as people on here and other places are saying. He has a good passing range, has composure on the ball and can definitely cover for Xabi when he is out. Surely that is the reason he was brought to the club?

All I said was Lucas was a good substitute for Alonso and now look what I started! ;)

Going by Lucas' form these past few games I don't think we would miss Alonso as much as we think. Lucas has been superb at keeping and distributing the ball in a simple way. We also have Gerrard who can play the Alonso role just as well, so no need to panic. I think Rafa has that position covered better than any other position on the pitch.
