Me too,Hopkins took the fight to a fight Calzaghe didn't want and took all Calzaghe's best attributes away from him.Ultimately i think Hopkins' play acting with the low blow went against him, granted it was a low blow but not as severe as he made out.
Hopkins also began to tire late on which is understandable but i feel Hopkins had definitely done enough to win the fight, especially early on.
As i said Hopkins behaviour with the low blow done him no favours with the judges in my opinion and he isn't the most popular guy with the boxing public in america to my knowledge. This may also have went against him.
Don't totally agree about Calzaghe,he wasn't convincing enough against Hopkins in my opinion and never truly had him hurt, also Jones and Hopkins had him on his arse.
But as you said he was no spring chicken himself.
I just think he should have went to america earlier, and to be rated as a great i think you have to be involved in at least one war with a top fighter.
As for Pacquaio on the other hand your spot on.What an achievement it would be for him to beat Cotto and Floyd (if it happened) after what he has already achieved.
Surely he'd be knocking on Sugar Ray Robinsons door?
In no particular order:
Barrera v Morales...probably the 3rd fight but round 5 from the 2000 fight was amazing.
Gatti v Ward I and III
Hagler v Hearns
Corrales v Castillo I
The list would be almost endless, you could include Pac Man v Marquez any,Bowe v Holyfield I,
JC Chavez v Meldrick Taylor I.
Vazques v Marquez last year was superb too for a more recent option.
Look at what we've been blessed with, that list is amazing.
My vote was Roy Jones Jr.He was at his peak when i was growing up and sort of my boxing idol. His hand speed, quick feet, lightening counter punches, his showmanship he had it all.
He was undoubtedly the best boxer of his generation and close to being the best in the last 25 years.
His biggest downfall was probably his crowning moment in my opinion. When he stepped up and won the heavyweight title from Ruiz he really struggled when he came back down to light-heavy.Had he fought Tarver before he went to heavyweight i think he would have demolished him the first time and left no chance of a rematch.
Also if he and Super-Slap Joe Calzaghe had fought at their peaks Roy Jones would have handed him his ass.

From the above article from the link of the cctv footage on sky news.
The grainy footage, highlighted for the jury in a lightened ring, allegedly shows one of Gerrard's friends push Mr McGee and follow through with an elbow.A scuffle ensues in which Gerrard appears to throw uppercuts at Mr McGee.The player is next seen on camera being held back by a friend and apparently explaining what had happened.
So the elbow wasn't from Stevie then?

I wouldn't ever question Lucas' effort or commitment, maybe some of his performances yes.
As for that other lazy twat,he does my fucking head in strolling around uninterested when he gets on the pitch. He has a serious attitude problem does Babel. He even looked for the easy way out last season trying to engineer a loan back to ajax instead of rolling his sleeves up and try to prove his worth.
At least Lucas wanted to prove to everyone that he can cut it,whether he can or not remains to be seen but at least he will give his best shot, unlike Babel in my opinion.
