    TLW Deathpool 2020

Well done to me for winning for the fourth year running....! PLEASE READ THE PART ABOUT PM’ING THE PICKS TO ME. IF THEY ARE NOT SENT BY PM I WONT INCLUDE THEM IN THE SPREADSHEET. I will not open the PM until my list is posted. If you haven’t played before please get involved. Rules listed below. 1. Each contestant much pick 10 celebrities who they think will die between 00:01, 27th January 2020 and 23:59 31st December 2020. Lists are final as of the starting time. 2. When the death has been confirmed, points will be awarded, and the people who had them chosen may choose a new celebrity for their list. 3. A celebrity is defined as a person who lives their life in the public domain. If we have not heard of them, then we can reject them. A good rule of thumb is if they have a Wikipedia page that you didn't just make. 4. Death row prisoners and people in public 'right to die' cases are not permitted. 5. Your picks can be any age at all. No minimum or maximum for the categories, but points will be awarded like this: 50+ - 10 points 35-49 - 20 points -35 - 30 points 6. NEW RULE You will get fewer points if it is one of your replacements which dies. This is because the new pick may be based on more recent news, so is not 'as skilled' as an original pick. This will also help level the playing field and reduce the chances of The Woolster running away with things. New scoring as follows. 50+ - 9 points 35-49 - 15 points -35 - 20 points Please PM me your lists, and I will begin the spreadsheet. Even if you want your list carried over from last year, please PM me to let me know so that I can 1. confirm your list, and 2. keep track in one place who has entered. This stops people copying your lists. Once the game begins, I will post the lists here. When you're sending your lists in, please put in the categories of your entrants in order like this... 1. John 50+ 2. Mike 50+ 3. Steve 50+ 4. Sam 50+ 5. Arnold 50+ 6. Peter 50+ 7. David 35-49 8. Liam 35-49 9. Tom U35 10. Paul U35 Please don't use nicknames! Happy Celeb Deaths 2020

    Coronavirus

Glad to hear your on the mend and it wasn't too serious Elite! I had a pulmonary embolism almost 10 years ago when I was 31. Passed out at a wedding, I thought I was ok, but I had turned blue, so they got me an ambulance... spent a week in hospital! Funnily enough, they thought the cause of the dvt was a really bad flu which I'd had for the 3 weeks before. Good thing I went to the wedding, as staying at home to recover from the flu was probably the sensible thing to do, but then I'd have been home by myself, and if it happened then, I may not have been able to phone 999.

Was last on this thread only 11 days ago, but it was also only page 33. Anyone sum this up for me?
  4. I did say for instance, could be another wide forward. However, any 19 year old who has double digit goals and assists 2 seasons running in a top 5 league deserves all of the hype.

    UFC

    My first thought was...
  6. Would depend on who we sign for me, for instance is we signed Sancho, then it would be best for him to leave, but I am a big fan and think he could score a load of goals in this team. Also depends on how much anyone offer for him as well I guess. If it is anything close to like £30m, I think its pretty hard to say no. I actually think the another loan but to a decent team in the Bundesliga would be a good move for both parties. A high pressing team that is in Europe would be ideal. Perhaps if we are speaking to Leipzig about Werner, then Wilson could come into the conversation.

He's an Arsenal fan, can't be trusted...

For the handful of people who might have a passing interest, here is my breakdown/simplification of the accounts into its main key figures.

And the 2019 financial results are in.

The latest accounts are now available to view here https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/00035668/filing-history In this set of accounts, there are £51m of administration costs which they do not break down what makes up those costs, so it is possible that they could put management charges in there, and we would not know about it. However, this goes against the other evidence of them trying to keep cash within the club and to reinvest all earnings back to into the club. Again, they have not taken out a dividend. Not only that, but the loan for the Main Stand which @dockers_strike strike mentioned, previously they were charging us interest on that as they had borrowed the money themselves and were charging us the same rate (2.44%), that has been transferred to a non-interest baring loan as per page 29 of the accounts. So they are making decisions which keeps cash in the club, so then charging the club for services just seems unlikely to me.

In terms of the cash, I believe they pay prize money quarterly. In terms of revenues, I think they would have booked all the guaranteed revenues up to 31st May, and if that's the case, the majority will be in the figures released already.

And the 2019 financial results are in.

The shareholders of FSG may be getting a dividend, but the cash they use for it, if they do, has not come from the club. Up to the last set of accounts anyway

And the 2019 financial results are in.

Well, some of that £220m will be an increase in wages for the 11 players who had renegotiated contracts. That will be the same in the next accounts. As for the transfer fees, they get smoothed out in the accounts via amortisation, which will also be the same in the next set of accounts. So it may sound strange, but it won't make as big a difference as it sounds.

The opening titles to this used to scare the shit out of me when I was little, even though the programme itself was not scary

    Our front three

On the one hand Timo Werner apparently has clause for £51m, which for a relatively young forward who has 23 goals this season, would look to be a bargain, and its part of our strategy to moneyball these situations and look for players with clauses which undervalues them. Werner would seem like a very sensible choice. On the other hand, Sancho, at 19 years old, is already posting elite level numbers and showing that he has the potential to be one of the best in the world. If you have the chance to sign a player like that, you sign a player like that as you hopefully get 10 years out of a world class player, and, it stops your rivals from having him too! So, it would seem to me that the sensible option would be to buy both of them!
