  1. Rafa has got us Agger, Skrtel, Benayoun, Ngog, Insua, Lucas and Aurelio for less than 7 million. They are players who most teams would like to have at their disposal. But as usual when it comes to Rafa, people see what they want to see. If David Platt says he´s shit at transfers then that´s a fact.
  2. Hit and miss? Practically every time Rafa has spent big money (15-20 M) he has got it right. Torres. Mascherano. Johnson. Robbie Keane was a flop though.
  3. Great idea. Get in a new manager. If we hit a poor run of form with the next manager we´ll do the same again until we get it right. Really great idea that.
  4. Mascherano has a seriously powerful shot on him. I´ve always felt the goalkeepers pull off world class saves when he pulls the trigger, he deserved his goal in the derby big time.
  5. Rafa has made lots of good buys that have improved us: Reina, Agger, Skrtel, Aurelio, Insua, Lucas, Benayoun, N´gog, Torres, Mascherano, Johnson. But he´s on a limited budget and had he been given the opportunity to buy more expensive players, like they do at Chelsea and Man U, we´ve had a lot better squad. But fact is he´s doing brilliantly and I can´t see any other manager would have done better.
  6. Benítez has bought four players in the 15-20 million bracket: Glen Johnson, Javier Mascherano, Alberto Aquilani and Fernando Torres. The three of them who have actually played a whole game for us are probably the best in the world at what they do. Definitely top three anyway. I can´t help but think that if Rafa had money to spend we would have a great team. Or has he just been lucky with these transfers?
  7. If that´s the case it´s fucking ridiculous. He should just sign his pay-as-you-play contract, he´s lucky being offered anything at all in my opinion.
  8. Rafa choosing Dossena over Babel only says one thing: He has had it with Babel.
  9. David Moyes said after the game Everton deserved more because they had a couple of chances. I agree, they probably deserved a draw. But the thing with Moyes is he isn´t fit enough to work out a gameplan that helps his team perform for a whole season. Pumping balls into the box and hoping for the lucky bounce from throw-ins will not improve your players or team-play by any means. If you get the lucky breaks, it will of course help you to a few good wins over superior teams during a season, but you won´t benefit in the long run if you manage your team this way. That´s why a team finishing 4th five seasons ago now find themselves in 16th place despite bringing in quite a few good players.
  10. It´s a legitimate question, isn´t it?
  11. A. Rafa is a manager not good enough for us. B. Chelsea and Manchester Utd also have top managers and have more money to spend on transfers and wages.
  12. I can´t be the only one who believe this team will improve big time without us spending loads of money. Here are my reasons. Martin Kelly and Dani Pacheco are two youngsters of the absolute highest quality. When Rafa thinks they are mature enough he will play them, and offload the deadwood that is Philipp Degen and Andriy Voronin. There are also other young players in the reserves that can improve the first team if they continue their development, maybe not to the same extent that Kelly and Pacheco but still. Rafa deserves credit for doing absolute brilliant with spotting great talent for cheap money and improving them. That is the only way for a club that can´t spend big money to compete with the other top teams. The youngsters will save us a lot of money in the future. Continuity is key. If you have a proven world class manager, he will deliver the goods if you give him time. I´m happy the supporters going to matches see the same things I see, they are spot on shouting Rafa´s name.
  13. No I don´t. I am a Liverpool supporter and have a life you know. Where the hell is this coming from?
  14. He was having a workout an hour ago. Any Irishmen who want to say something to him if I run into him again?
  15. A. The one who lives for the club, thinks about what´s best for the club. Always recognizing that managing a football team is a lot harder than pundits and ex-players try to make it. Not only a genuine supporter of the club he loves but also a keen observer of football in general. B. The one whose life depends on how many trophies the club win. He is so fed up with life he believes trophies is the only way he will look better in the eyes of others. Takes it personal when the team is struggling and unable to enjoy watching other teams play well without getting anxious and starting to panic. Today players are getting a lot of stick for their wage demands but some supporters are just as greedy.
  16. Why can´t you respect that others see things differently from yourself? Many of us think that Rafa is the man to bring the glory days back, if you can´t accept that then it´s you who can "go fuck yourself". Success isn´t all about trophies. Maybe you´re a fan who only care about winning so you can brag about it? If you are then do us a favour and go get yourself a life.
  17. We need to get rid of some players, but until Rafa thinks some of the youngsters are ready to step it up we simply can´t. Degen and Voronin will in time be fucked off and replaced with Kelly and Pacheco, I´m pretty sure about that. That will make us stronger without spending a nickle.
  18. Did anyone say that Kuyt is exciting? Learn how to read knobhead.
