  1. It's comforting to know that none of LFC's money is being drained to pay the 60,000 p.a. Bascombe is being paid to scribble one article a week indulging his small circle of anti-Rafa associates.
  2. I see the NOTW exclusive with Gerrard is quoted verbatim on the offal without any attribution to the NOTW. This is the second time I have seen this happen in the last few months. So did the NOTW have an exclusive or does the offal plagarise?
  3. Misses one-on-one with the goalie with nobody challenging him, thereby maintaining his record for the most clear-cut misses in the PL. But as usual he will spin it that at least he was in position to miss.
  4. Both the NOTW or the SUN frequently advertises or promotes features in the other - or what they refer to as their "sister publication". They have shared stories in the past - the NOTW starting it on a Sunday as an exclusive and the Sun continuing it on in the following week using the same sources.
  5. Why did the NOTW change the byeline on that story as between 00.14 and now. The original bye line as it appeared in NewsNow was as follows - and this is a cut and paste of the actual posting: "It's time for Spaniard to bring title back to the Kop faithful News of the World 00:14" That link led to the article with the same headline. The headline has also been changed in the last couple of minutes.
  6. Not much - just that he used a Spanish passport which is a terrible indictment for the club as big as ours, brought to its knees by John Foreigner and his greasy cronies.
  7. This seems to be the main justification for all your hate-stirring shit. Who cares what you think and what you want. LFC is bigger than the likes of you. As for your "years of service" and games attended. I have attended first and reserve team games since before you were born. Not that that matters. I'd rather associate with those supporters in Singapore who've never been to the UK than with the likes of you with your malicious bitchy gossip and outright lies about our club and our manager. And when we win the league again or any of the cups - hopefully under Rafa our best manager since Paisley - none of us will give you a second thought.
  8. Its big of you to admit your blatant anti-Rafa propaganda so openly.
  9. "wide receiver" identifies him - that's a position in American football - hence his fascination with Beckham. Use of the word "punt" reinforces that. A good WUM leaves you in doubt as to whether he is being serious or not - and on that basis he deserves about an 8.
  10. Rafa has said that they had opened talks with Arbeloa to extend and improve his contract. If that happened we would get a better price for him if he was moved on next year. But Rafa also indicated that Arbeloa might want to move now. I agree with you, we would be better off giving him another year and a raise.
  11. Why pussy-foot about? I read it. It was a hate-filled thread started by a poster who has claimed many times that he hates Rafa. I did not post on it because it would have made me feel dirty.
  12. This might sound like heresy or naivety to some, but it might be an idea for supporters groups to approach the two owners directly and ask on what terms they would be willing to sell a portion of the club to supporters. The contract they have given the Manager, the appointment of a Financial Director, Commercial Director, Managing Director and the search for a CEO, suggests that they have moved away from the Mom and Pop and Sons style of management they appeared to be set on before SOS got on their case. This kind of re-organisation is also typical of companies preparing for a takeover or for the sale of equity. Apparently they have also done some preliminary work on a public offering. If they do intend to raise finance through a public offering the timing might not be right for the current new-issues market. However, supporters are not typical of the general market. They might buy new issues when others wouldn't. So a public offering to supporters might fit well with the idea of supporters buying a significant voting stake in the club.

  14. No - its 16M. But I agree that if it were 18.5 M it would make it easier for you to criticise Rafa if Johnson does not play well.
  15. You seem to want to make the argument that however much Rafa says he is not for sale, he must be for sale because Real Madrid keep trying. That's what RM wants you to think. Your error is in thinking that all the media noise created by Real Madrid and the agent is the same as Real Madrid making an offer or negotiating an offer with LFC. As I have said the only party to whom Real Madrid have spoken is Alonso's agent. Alonso and his agent have agreed terms with Real Madrid on the condition that Real Madrid will have to pay no more than 20 million pounds. Alonso and Real Madrid miscalculated - badly. Now they are toing and froing with each other about the merits of offering a higher price. Meanwhile Rafa and LFC stand by their original position. He is not for sale. There is nothing to discuss. As in the case of every player at every club - if the player puts in a transfer request the club will have to respond to say yes, no or maybe. At that stage fees, timing and other conditions can be discussed. But Rafa does not want Alonso to go (nor, incidentally, do I). Not because he is the best midfield player FC has ever had - he clearly is not - but because he is an important cog in a functioning team and there is no clear replacement at short notice. It would be risky to let him go. However if Real Madrid were to offer silly money and if Rafa felt that that money would allow him to compensate for the loss of Alonso and improve the team then that could be discussed. Real Madrid have made no offer at all. Alonso has not put in a transfer request. Ergo there is nothing to discuss.
  16. He is reported by the agent to a journalist to have said hand in a transfer request. There is no direct quote from Rafa. Even if Rafa did say that to the agent in private it came after Rafa had said publicly that Alonso is not for sale and he pointed out that Alonso had signed an extension to his contract and had said in every interview he had given that he is happy at LFC. Instead of holding Rafa to account for what he did not say how about requiring Alonso to explain why he agreed terms with Real Madrid while at the same time he was telling the public he was happy at LFC and looking forward to his sixth season? Why exactly has Alonso not put in a transfer request, in your opinion?
  17. With the right accessories - like a Prada handbag - its got possibilities.
  18. Rafa did not quote Real Madrid a price. LFC has never received an offer from Real Madrid. Rafa told the press that Alonso is not for sale and that there is no need for LFC to discuss anything. All the rest of the stuff about prices comes from Real Madrid and Alonso's agent. The agent does not work for LFC or Rafa. The only price Rafa has ever quoted was when he was asked about Mascherano and he replied Barcelona could not afford him. He is not for sale even for 40 or 50 million pounds. Its possible that the Real Madrid quotes about LFC asking too much applied to Arbeloa - not Alonso. Rafa has said that LFC opened talks with Arbeloa to extend his contract and he would continue to be very useful for LFC but with the arrival of Johnson it may be that Arbeloa wants to consider other possibilities.
  19. ".....there would be massive savings in purchasing the best zimbabwean keepers again and bringing them over to liverpool." We could increase our savings if we hired some Arab slave-traders to round up about 100 of the best Zimbabwean goaltenders for onward shipment to Liverpool. There would be some mortalities on the passage over but the fittest would survive. If the final count at the Liverpool docks was say, 60, we could select the strongest and then re-sell the surplus to other clubs or perhaps send them on to the West Indies or the United States. Or perhaps not!
  20. He's gnashing his negs because he's losing his anti-Rafa propaganda war.
  21. So are Protestant Northern Ireland person's both Irish and British although some of them would prefer not to be - Irish, that is, or British. There - that's cleared that up!
  22. Some on here would have Spain banished from the United Nations because Rafa was born there.
  23. He used to be injury-prone with his groin. Houllier had him visit a specialist in France regularly and would suspend him until he was fully fit. But he has outgrown that problem although he had a bit of a relapse last season.
  24. It's got to be guilty beyond reasonable doubt. The evidence of that video is not without reasonable doubt. But the jury might consider the testimony of eye witnesses - for and against.
